As they say, the only thing constant in this world is CHANGE. And though
this change may be iniated by one person, it always needs a collecve
effort from many people to make it successful. An effort achieves new
heights and becomes ‘mission successful’, when people from all walks of
life, make it their own personal mission.
And that’s the philosophy that has been guiding Sonalika Group for over
4 decades now. The company has constantly been striving to bring a
change in the life of farmers. And, with acve parcipaon of its
employees and associates, Sonalika Group has been able to make a
holisc contribuon to the agricultural community as a whole. This gives
me enough confidence to call Sonalika as ‘one of the major drivers of
change’ since its incepon.
Having taken the responsibility of being a ‘change maker’, the queson is
where do we go from here? What are we looking at changing in this leap
year 2020? What is our vision for the ‘New India’?
As we dedicate ourselves to find soluons to the above quesons, we
dive deeper into the core challenges faced by our youth today. We also
look at the immense potenal hidden inside them, just waing for an
opportunity to turn their dreams into a reality. We want to align our
energy with their energy and enable the youth of India to stand on their
feet to create a future for them and the country.
Our aim is to see India as self-sufficient in every manner, starng at the
grass-root level. This calls for joint efforts to fight illiteracy, poverty and
unemployment, along with sustainable ecological development. We are
commied to building a new, empowered India. Hope you are too.
The world can be changed by some thoughtful & committed citizens, never doubt them.

How’s the Josh?
People often ask me,
“How do I dene happiness?”
Mrs. Surbhi MittalDirector, Sonalika CSR
Well, I define happiness as a posive state of mind, which gets
mulplied when I take acons to spread it to others.
I believe, happiness is never readymade. Neither is happiness
limited to achieving big things in life. There are millions of
smaller things in life, which can spread happiness.
But, it needs a constant effort to create those many moments,
which we can call ‘happy moments’. It gives me profound
pleasure to admit that under the incredible guidance of
Dr. Deepak Mial and under the banner of Sonalika CSR,
I experience a deep urge to share this happiness and extend
support to those secons of society which deserve it the most.
At Sonalika CSR, we are lucky to get an opportunity to touch
many lives. It is a maer of pride for us, to get a chance to touch
various aspects of the community and cater to the
environmental issues at the same me. The collecve efforts of
Sonalika CSR are intended to empower the society, hone skills
and back the inborn talents among us.
It is a challenging and, at the same me, sasfying job to help
people realize their potenal. It is important to make them
aware that every person has something special inside and
should connue working to excel at it. From school-going
children to women and elders, we are commied to bring a
change so that people become self-aware and independent. It is
our perseverance and unring enthusiasm that is helping us take
Sonalika CSR to its pinnacle.
In 2020, a large poron of world’s populaon was locked indoors
due to the global pandemic. And its effect will be seen in mes to
come. This pandemic is a wake-up call for all of us. The message
is loud and clear. Happiness is not in material things, but it is
within us. And we are commied to share our happiness with
others.
Our commitment towards a happy society will connue in the
future with new endeavours.

Giving Wings To Dreams Udaan is a program, which aims at giving wings to those sections of our society, which were underprivileged
till now. These sections of society have not got enough opportunities to prove their worth.
Sonalika CSR has taken a serious note of this situation and taken it as a challenge to bring a change in their life.
The idea is to look for ways and means to help them become independent and improve their quality of life.
That’s why under the umbrella of Udaan, we have launched various initiatives aimed at making every citizen
more skillful. This includes teaching farmers to adopt better agricultural practices, improving medical
facilities in the villages and promoting art and culture.
Working at the grass-root level, one thing that we noced was the plight of
women, especially in rural India. Most families have a single earning member.
The challenge was to create some opportunity where the lady of the house is
also able to contribute to the family income and while we were wondering what
can be done to address this problem, we realized an inherent quality of every
woman is creavity. To every Indian woman, creavity comes naturally –
especially in stching.
Here was a classic case of available talent and a demand in the market. The only
thing missing was a link, which would make both the ends meet. That’s how
UNNATI came into existence. Training program was started in Damdama Village,
Gurugram, Haryana, to train the women by honing their stching skills, with a
sharp focus on providing them with a means to earn a decent livelihood.
Now these women entrepreneurs are busy ‘stching’ their future with complete
dedicaon and commitment. While these women are doing their part,
Internaonal Tractors Limited is also playing its part in supporng these new
entrepreneurs. To maintain a constant demand for them, the company has been
purchasing its corporate uniforms from UNNATI.
Thanks to UNNATI, today, these women are earning their livelihood and also
supporng their families. With UNNATI, the women have broken the stereotypes
and transformed themselves into respected entrepreneurs.

Today, the specially-abled face many challenges in our society. The biggest
challenge is being accepted in the society as a normal person and not as
someone who is lacking something.
All they want is little empathy and an opportunity. Once they get these two
things, they always rise above their current situation and prove their worth.
That is the guiding force behind the many programs initiated by Sonalika CSR
to empower these people and give them a better life.
We, at Sonalika CSR, have undertaken several initiatives to empower
specially-abled women through skill development programs, to open the
doors of many opportunities and get a well-deserved chance to earn a
decent livelihood. We have trained specially-abled women and nurtured
their skills. To promote the message of equality many specially-abled
children have taken part in Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. This event has not
only promoted the sense of inclusion but has also showcased their will and
ability to surpass every barrier which comes to them.
Skill Development For Special Ones
Across the world, many children are underprivileged and they
are unable to lead a life like other children. Unfortunately, India
is one such country where many children are unable to get even
basic education and due to this, they lag behind in every aspect
of life and simply live their entire lives fighting their poverty.
We strongly believe that the future of any country depends on its
children. To progress, a country has to ensure good education for
every child. And, this education should go beyond bookish
knowledge, and include art and culture as well.
With this thought in mind, Sonalika CSR has initiated a
movement to reach these underprivileged children with the
essence of art & culture. The plan is to give them a platform to
identify and develop their talent. We want these children to be
confident and skilled to face the future. We are happy that few
organizations have come forth and partnered with us to bring a
positive change in the society.
Umdah Academy
www.sona l i kacs r.com
The biggest challenge was to make their parents understand
the benefits of education and persuade them to send their
children to schools. To tackle this, we conducted various
workshops to develop the creative and academic skills among
their children through activities like health check-up, writing
and painting competition among others. We believe that this is
just the start. We aim to create an ambience to promote
extracurricular activities like dancing, singing, playing sports to
enrich their understanding of art and culture.
So far, the journey has been rewarding and shown positive
results. The Umdah Academy has inspired many people and
they have started sending their children to the Academy. We
have also designed a vocational training program to empower
women. We, at Sonalika CSR, certainly believe that our efforts
can create a progressive change in the lives of many women.
Women are an integral part of the society.
However, the biggest roadblock in the
path of true women’s empowerment is
the fact that women in India are not
financially independent and they don’t
get ample opportunities to showcase
their talent. One of the main reasons for
this is lack of awareness. We believe
that the women cannot just become
self-reliant but can also become
contributing members to their family
and the society as a whole.
That’s why we have come up with Hospital
Attendant Training Program (HATP) for
women. The main thought behind this
initiative is to empower, educate and
enhance their financial prospects.
Under this program, the idea is to train
women in the medical field. Trained
hospital attendants can ensure that
patients can get good healthcare along
with quality consultation and proper
medication. This way, women are not only
becoming independent, but are also
able to make a significant contribution
to our nation’s growth.
Today, as you read this article, we take
pride in sharing that HATP has
transformed the lives of many women.
This training has changed their lives
completely. It has made them
independent, and more confident to
face the challenges from the society.
Not only that, this training has set a
benchmark for all future aspirants.
Three batches of HATP have already
passed out and many pass-outs of
these batches have been placed in
various hospitals and institutions. We
feel a sense of satisfaction in being able
to play a role in transforming their lives
in more ways than one. It has not only
made them independent but has also
helped them earn a huge respect in the
society, which they deserve.

Farming in India is still very traditional. Farmers follow the
age-old practices, which have become outdated. There is
also a problem of water for irrigation. Due to this, they are
living in poor economic condition.
To change this picture, Sonalika CSR has initiated an
agricultural enhancement project in 33 villages of Madhya
Pradesh and Rajasthan. Under the program, we provide
training to farmers on improved practices related to
Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Soil & Water
Conservation, Micro-irrigation and Water Harvesting
Structure. To fight water shortage, we encourage farmers to
grow crops which need less water and also use Drip
Irrigation technique.
We are planning to build Water Storage Infrastructures in
Rajasthan and also repairing some in Madhya Pradesh. We
are empowering farmers in various towns such as Rewa,
Sagar and Satna in Madhya Pradesh, Sikar, Barmer,
Gudamalani in Rajasthan.
In these focus villages, we have formed Kisan Clubs. We
conduct regular meetings in these clubs to inform farmers
about the best agriculture practices and various schemes
launched for their welfare by State and Central
Governments. We also emphasize the fact that farmers can
earn faster through cash crop. We organize state-level
farmers meet called “Kisan Baithak” where farmers and
many agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry
specialist come together and discuss the various issues of
farmers.

Childcare is an area of great concern in all developing countries. And India is no different. Children are not able to get basic amenies
like food, healthcare, and affecon that they need while growing up. This is a very big issue, especially in rural areas.
We fully understand and appreciate the importance of caring for our naon’s future. Keeping this in mind, we have undertaken an
iniave to build child care centres in rural India.
To start, we have built an Anganwadi at Malegaon, Pune (Maharashtra) to provide children with their birth rights and also handle
primary birth-related issues. We are proud to say that Malegaon is acng as a model for offering best facilies when it comes to
childcare, nutrion, non-formal pre-educaon, immunizaon, health check-up and referral services through this Anganwadi.

Many Indians living in rural areas often face barriers in
getting much-needed health care. The main problem lies in
finding transportation to reach the medical facility. There is a
huge shortage of medical facilities in rural hospitals. People
have to rush to cities for any medical emergency. At times,
this delay can be very dangerous & life-threatening. The
situation becomes more acute when it comes to providing
medical help to pregnant women.
To address these issues, we have taken an initiative of
Gynaecological and Childbirth Center in the Primary Health
Centre (PHC) of Bagh village, which is situated 85 km away
from the main city of Dhar. Now we have provided the latest
technological equipment in the village itself to help the
villagers when it comes to childbirth.
With these equipment the procedure of childbirth can be
managed professionally within the village itself. This also
greatly reduces the risk of any complication which may arise
at the time of delivery. This way, we are contributing to
transformation of the lives of rural people as far as
child-birth emergency is concerned.
Gynaecological and Childbirth setup in Primary Health Center of Bagh, Dhar, Madhya Pradesh Due to increasing pollution in Delhi, the air quality has become
very bad. This has led to people suffering from breathing and
cardiac problems. Hospitals are full of patients suffering from
respiratory and cardiac cases.
As a responsible corporate citizen, Sonalika CSR has once again
come forward to strengthen the infrastructure at St. Stephen’s
Hospital, where many cases were reported. They have been
provided machines, which will play a very important role in
treating these patients.
At the same time, Sonalika CSR is playing a key role in fighting the
reasons behind the factors which cause air pollution.

In a country like India, Infant Mortality Rate is an area of
major concern. Many times, there are complications like
hypothermia at the time of birth and the newborn child has
to be taken to Neo-Natal ICU. 99% of such cases are not able
to survive.
It is vital to keep newborns warm and help them to have
proper heat regulation in order to prevent and minimize
morbidities and mortalities due to hypothermia. In such a
condition, Infant Radiant Warmers (or popularly called baby
warmers) play a major role.
Considering the importance of baby warmers in reducing
infant mortality, Sonalika CSR provided baby warmer at St.
Stephen’s hospital to ensure safe deliveries. This has
significantly contributed in reducing mishaps and improved
health for infants.

Due to sound pollution and increasing age, many people
have difficulty in hearing. This often leads to irritation among
the affected people.
There is a shortage of various audiometric machines to
perform procedures to identify the hearing ability of a
person. An audiometer is a machine, which is used to
measure a person's ability to hear.
To strengthen the ENT department of St. Stephen’s Hospital,
Sonalika CSR had provided audiometer machine. This is used
for people across all age groups - from young kids to aged
people.

Clubfoot is a congenital defect, where a child is born with feet twisted out of shape or position. In such a situation, the person may not be able to
walk all life or cannot move without external support.
Clubfoot can be cured, but the surgery is expensive and also requires regular follow-up after surgery. So, patients from financially weaker
backgrounds are not able to afford this and are forced to live in this condition.
To bridge this gap, Sonalika CSR has associated with St. Stephen’s Hospital, Delhi in supporting this noble endeavour of treating Clubfoot
patients. We are grateful to the entire team of doctors led by Dr. Mathew Varghese, who has been working day in and day out to ensure such
patients are able to walk on their feet and live a life of dignity.
Taking a note of the commendable work done by Dr. Varghese and his team, Dr. Varghese has been acknowledged as ‘One of the 5 most
inspirational people in the world’ by the founder of Microsoft, Mr. Bill Gates.

India is a land of people with immense talent. Since ages, the
arsts from India have travelled across the world and
mesmerized everyone with their art.
Sonalika CSR feels proud to honour these arsts. We feel it is
our duty to promote their talent. That is why we have
partnered with ‘Arts 4 All’ and organized a 2-week Residency
Program to build their skills through conversaons and
interacve learning. In this residency program, talented arst
from across India parcipated and showcased some
extraordinary piece of artwork.
We will connue organizing these Residency Programs so that
more and more talented arsts can get a plaorm to nurture
and showcase their talents.
Residency Art Program to inspire and motivate the young artistsIn this age of computers and internet, children are not able
to feel the love for paper books. They are missing the scent of
paper. So, to revive this love for books, Sonalika CSR has set
up libraries in Govt. Schools in Sectors 5, 6 and 7 at R.K.
Puram, New Delhi.
To encourage children to take up reading, we have organized
many book reading sessions. These sessions have been
aended by more than 1,600 students from various schools,
and organizaons supporng underprivileged children. The
children showed great enthusiasm in reading about the
inspiring journeys of real-life heroes and their unring
efforts to bring posive changes in society. And, this is only
the beginning. We intend to connue the journey of

For the sustainability of living
Taking Impactful Steps At Sonalika CSR, we firmly believe in the age-old saying, “Vasudhaiva
Kutumbakam”, which means “this whole Earth is our home”. This saying
beaufully describes our age-old principles of ‘co-existence’. This is even more
evident during the COVID-19 crisis in the year 2020 , which has impacted all of
us across the globe equally.
Through our various efforts, we strive to build a society of co-existence. The
aim is to create posive change for not just few people, but the complete
society as a whole. We want to make an impact in the lives of all people, so that
every member of society is able to lead a full life, a life full of possibilies.
To promote sustainable social development and beer quality of life, we aim
to reach out to individuals who need us the most. That’s what we are
commied to doing this year, which has already proven itself to be extremely
challenging even for the most prosperous people.
We think it’s our responsibility to take iniaves which bring collecve growth

Inspiring change through
Act ionSince this whole Earth is our home, then it is our responsibility to keep our ‘home’ clean and green. While we enjoy the many gifts of
nature, it is our moral duty to give something to the nature in return.
Sonalika CSR has undertaken many impactful initiatives to maintain the natural balance of the Earth. Ever since we began this initiative,
we have transformed many lives and, as always, we have got great response from various individuals, institutions and different
organizations in addressing various environmental challenges. One such challenge affecting our environment is stubble burning.
Our main motto is saving the environment from the harmful effects of pollution. Sonalika CSR is dedicatedly working towards
maintaining the environment and supporting our farmers to deal with crop residue management. Farmers are the backbone of our
country and they put a lot of effort in the fields. We feel it’s our responsibility to support our farmers and every citizen of India who
needs care and support.
We have come up with some great practical initiatives to reduce pollution and we have got a very positive response so far. We are
directly working with the farmers in our effort to support them in crop residue management and provide better ways to tackle this issue.

The Northern part of India, during winters, has to not only face the cold weather, but also
deal with the problem of stubble burning. Stubble burning is an age-old practice, where the
crop residue is burnt by the farmers. This releases harmful smoke, which pollutes the air
badly. It also releases many greenhouse gases, resulting in global warming.
To stop this practice and control air pollution, Sonalika CSR has initiated an effective and
dependable Crop Residue Management System. Along with some partners, Sonalika CSR
started working in more than 50 villages of Karnal, Haryana to tackle the problem of stubble
burning. Using the latest technological machineries like Happy Seeder, Spatial Zero Till Seed
cum Fertilizer Drill and Super Straw Management System, we have been able to stop this
practice.
As of date, there are more than 50 villages in Karnal which have almost stopped the practice
of stubble burning. Many farmers have taken a pledge to stop stubble burning.
We have organized many workshops to make a connection with farmers and inform them
about smart and climate-friendly farming. We are happy to announce that many volunteers
have joined hands with us to increase the reach of our social cause, and the positive impact of
that is being witnessed both by the farmers and the citizens of North India.
Crop Residue Management While at one end we are working towards stopping stubble
burning to control air polluon, at the same me we are
working towards improving the air quality. This can be done
easily by growing more and more plants. More plants mean
more oxygen, and this helps all of us get fresh air.
We, at Sonalika CSR, have undertaken the task of increasing
the sense of social responsibility among people. We are
seng up air-purifying indoor plantaon structures in many
public places. This project was iniated during ‘Van
Mahotsav’ which is observed naonally and involves
planng trees across the country.
We are working connuously and making conscious efforts
towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).
We are commied to make our environment green, clean
and healthier to live.
Indoor Plantation
VinodKarnal, Haryana
Oen, passion drives people to achieve success.
Take for example Vinod, a farmer from Karnal,
Haryana. He has a passion for agriculture, but the
sad part is that he was compelled to follow old
techniques of farming which includes stubble
burning. He used to follow this age-old pracce due
to lack of informaon and availabil ity of
alternaves. He knew that with the burning of
residue crop he was decreasing ferlity of his land
and also pollung the environment. He wanted to
put a stop on this pracce.
Sonalika CSR is working on Conservaonal
Agriculture in 50 plus villages of Karnal and
organizing training sessions to educate farmers.
One such session inspired Vinod and he saw a merit
in implemenng smart agricultural methods. He
gradually started adopng the methods in his field.
Vinod witnessed an increase in his yield when he
started using “Happy Seeder” for sowing. Happy
Seeder has not only help him save money, me and
labour but also eradicated the problem of Stubble
Burning. With each sowing he is geng beer
yield. These results aracted other farmers in the
village.
Aer completely adopng conservaonal farming
in his 30 acres of agricultural land and not burning
stubble for many years, Vinod now is teaching his
fellow farmers the techniques of modern
agriculture for doing climate-smart farming. He is a
change maker who has not only changed himself
but is also changing others.
We believe with more people like Vinod we can
completely eradicate the problem of Stubble
Burning.
A farmer from Karnal, Haryana, who is working with us for Crop Residue Management
Cleanliness is next to Godliness – This is an old saying which
means, where there is cleanliness, there is the abode of God.
Millions of people in our country visit religious places every day
in search of peace and to make their lives happier. While they get
what they want, but what do they leave behind, when they
return? Often, they leave a lot of waste material in the premises
which includes leftover food, flowers, leaves, etc. This waste can
be very harmful to our environment.
To tackle this problem of managing waste in religious places, we
have set up compost machines at various religious places in
Delhi. This includes ISKCON Temple at East of Kailash (100 kg),
Jagannath Temple at Hauz Khas (100 kg), Chattarpur Mata
Mandir (100 kg) and Bangla Sahib Gurudwara (200 kg).
Waste To Compost
www.sona l i kacs r.com
These machines can convert the organic waste into fertilizers
which can be used in agriculture and horticulture.
We earnestly believe that our initiative can make our religious
places cleaner & more pious, and also increase awareness
among people about not spreading organic waste at such places.
Every winter, the air in the Northern India gets filled with harmful smoke. This smoke combines with fog to form a poisonous mixture
called ‘Smog’. The reason for this smog is the age-old habit of burning the straw stubble intenonally, aer the crop has been
harvested. This burning releases harmful smoke, which badly affects the air quality and leads to many diseases.
To address this issue, Sonalika CSR has come up with a climate-smart and sustainable program that aims to stop this pracce and
transform the quality of air that we breathe. Aptly tled, Ab Hawa Badlegi, this program can eradicate this age-old ritual of stubble
burning. This has helped the farmers to increase their producvity and earnings as well.
Along with our on-ground partners, we are already working in 50+ villages in Karnal, Haryana to tackle this environmental hazard. In
this iniave, we are taking the help of latest technological machineries like Happy Seeder, Spaal Zero Till Seed cum Ferlizer Drill
and Super Straw Management System. This is just a beginning. We are adding more villages to extend our impact.
Ab Hawa Badlegi is actually an iniave by Sonalika CSR that covers all aspects of our society. We are rigorously working towards
beerment for not only the deprived secons of the society, but to cater larger part of the society.
Ab Hawa Badlegi is the vision of Sonalika CSR to work for a society, where every child gets ample opportunies for educaon,
women are empowered and those who are specially-abled made to learn proper skills. We thrive to bring change in the lives of
underprivileged children, women empowerment and the beerment of society. We all can work towards improved societal &
environment condions, and enjoy living in a beer world.

Currently, Athletics in India is in an evolving phase. There was a time when
the nation was made proud by athletes like Milkha Singh and P.T. Usha.
Athletics is expanding its roots in the structure of our sport even though
athletes are facing many challenges to pursue their passion.
There are many challenges in an athlete’s life-some are hidden and some
are not. They have to deal with these challenges to pursue their passion
and reach the pinnacle of success.
‘Aspiring Athletes’ is one such initiative started by Sonalika CSR to tackle
these issues. Under this program, we take care of the requirements of
budding athletes. We not only support but also motivate them to succeed
in life. A Former Director of Athletics Federation of India and Sonalika CSR
joined hands to support and groom athletes.
The results are here for everyone to see. One of our talented athlete,
Jauna Murmu has already won a gold medal in National Athletics
Championship, held in Guwahati and secured 4th position at Asian
Games, held in Jakarta, 2018. She is now training for the upcoming
Olympics to be held in Tokyo.
As they say, Athletes are a winner in themselves because they don’t want
to stop at any barrier. We are sure that the race to put our athletics on the
world stage and podiums will be won for sure through our collective
efforts.

As you would have read in the ‘Mahabharata’, Arjun was
successful only because he had a clear focus. Similarly, when
a person has a clear aim in life and is focused, then no one
can stop him.
To teach this lesson to children, we have taken up Shooting
as a sport which can help children learn focus, leading to
their holistic development. We aim to groom and encourage
the children. We started with supporting some girls of Johri,
Baghpat, UP and these girls showed extraordinary talent and
made us proud in National Championships. Through our
efforts, many children have now taken up Shooting as a
career and have gained confidence.
Encouraged by this response, we established a shooting
range in Government School of Chabbewal, Hoshiarpur. We
supported these budding stars with proper coaching and
advanced techniques. They did not disappoint us either.
Many players from Sonalika Shooting Range, Chabbewal
have won numerous medals in district, state and national
level competitions.
Moving ahead, we opened one more shooting range at Suraj
Bhan DAV Public School in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. Many
young talents are being groomed here. At a Shooting
competition held in Dwarka, many of these players have won
medals in under 15 to under 18 years categories. These
children are thriving to make a positive impact to succeed in
their respective lives, and shooting their way to success &
glory. With the overwhelming result from two shooting
ranges we have recently established our third shooting
range in DAV Public School at Faridabad Sector-14.

Once addressing the children, Swami Vivekananda said, “You will
be nearer to heaven by playing football than studying the Bhagvat
Gita”.
At Sonalika CSR, we believe that sports are crucial for children,
especially during their growing years. That’s why Sonalika CSR has
associated with My Angels Academy to bring about a holistic
development in the lives of children in the slums of Vikaspuri. We
are supporting the underprivileged children to enhance their
football skills.
My Angels Academy is a sports academy founded by Sylvester, a
43-years-old professional trainer. He has trained many boys and
girls who come from a less privileged section of the society. Today,
these children have grown into very talented football players,
even better than many players who had the best of facilities.
Sonalika CSR believes that it can bring about a positive change in
the lives of these kids. We are now working tirelessly to support
these talented young footballers and drive them by imbibing in
them holistic values of commitment, dedication, teamwork and
excellence.
These kids are quite inspiring as they can fulfill their dreams even
while managing many responsibilities on their young shoulders.

When you are determined to achieve something, then even physical limitaons
cannot stop you. This is the one line story of Shweta who was born with unilateral
clufoot disease. Looking at this, her parents also felt that their youngest daughter
might not be able to walk in her life.
But Shweta and her parents did not lose hope. Despite their limited resources,
they were determined to look for a cure for their daughter and create a future for
her. And as luck would have it, they got help from the health experts and Shweta
began to get cured.
To speed up recovery, Shweta was advised to lead an acve lifestyle. Shweta’s father
saw this as an opportunity to frame a bright future for her. He inspired his daughter to
take up sports. Gradually she started showing interest in Lawn Tennis.
Her interest in Tennis found strong support from her father who, despite his
limited resources, started providing her professional coaching and taking her for
parcipaon in compeons. And the results were encouraging, with Shweta
performing prey well in these compeons.
While at one hand, her brilliant performance was gaining aenon of sports
authories, on the other hand, her family was facing financial issues to support
her for higher level compeons. At this crical moment, Sonalika CSR extended
its hand to support her dreams.
At a tender age of 10, Shweta qualified the quarter and semi final rounds of the
compeon organized by All India Tennis Associaon (AITA) held at Panipat.
Going forward, her dream is to represent India on internaonal level. She is a role
model for many people, who face some kind of physical challenge. We wish her
all the best for her journey.

Football as a sport is very popular among children. The sport
focuses on good health as well as team spirit. To further
promote the sport among the children, Sonalika CSR
iniated ‘Sonalika Football Cup’ in associaon with Delhi
Cup Soccer League.
The compeon was special in many ways. For one, it gave a
chance to children from 40 different NGOs, Slums and other
organizaons to showcase their football skills. This
compeon provided a plaorm to those children who have
been earlier suffering from Clubfoot. It is the dedicated
efforts of Dr. Mathew Varghese of St. Stephen, Hospital,
Delhi, who cured these children.
Looking at the enthusiasm of the children, Sonalika CSR has
decided to conduct the Sonalika Football Cup every year.

Solidarity @2020Taking Impactful Steps Difficult Times Need Dedicated Efforts. With this thought in mind we began our journey to
help the naon during the COVID-19 pandemic. We can conquer any combat, when we
are fighng together. With Solidarity we started supporng our Medical Staff, Labourers,
Migrant Workers, Slum Dwellers and COVID-19 paents.
From cies to remote corners of India, we have reached many people. We have started
Food Drive to help Daily Wagers, Migrant Labourers and Slum Dwellers to have proper

India for containment of virus.
We have converted a CRPF Bus into Corona Tesng Mobile Clinic for door-to-door tesng

Strengthening our medical facilitiesProviding treatment to the people infected with this deadly virus
The world will remember the year 2020 for the global pandemic caused by
Coronavirus. The fast spread of COVID-19 across the world had forced
governments to enforce a ‘lockdown’ in their countries. The Coronavirus
showed the world its lack of preparaon to tackle any such global pandemic.
To control the spread of virus, it was important to maintain ‘social distancing’. At
the same me, there was a great need to treat the people infected by the virus.
As a responsible corporate cizen, Sonalika CSR took it as a responsibility to
support our exisng medical infrastructure by creang isolaon wards in
hospital and providing protecons kits to medical staff.
Aer providing medical support to paents, Sonalika CSR also looked at the
people who were hit the most with the lockdown. These were the people living
in slum areas and the daily wage earners, who were fighng with hunger and
unhygienic condions. Sonalika CSR took upon the responsibility of providing
food and hygiene kits to these people to support them in these difficult mes.
Fighting Corona
Ever since the rate of Corona positive patients started
increasing at an alarming rate, we took up initiatives to equip
the health facilities to deal with the upcoming situation.
Strengthening our Medical Facilities is the need of the hour
and we are standing strong with our citizens and medical
staff.
Isolation Center to treat COVID-19 patients was developed at
St. Stephen’s Hospital, New Delhi. This center is well
equipped with air-conditioned isolation rooms, ventilators,
equipment for treatment, regular sanitisation and
disinfection of linens and other support system. Protective
gears including PPE’s (Personal Protection Equipment) and
gloves were provided to ensure protection to doctors and
medical professionals. This center is fully operational and has
already started fighting against COVID-19.
While we are safely staying at home, Doctors and Medical
Professionals of our country are working as our guardian
angels. Sonalika CSR appreciates the spirit and hard work of
medical professionals. We are thankful for their contribution
and stand strongly with them in fighting these difficult times.

Our world has been jolted by these unprecedented crises. This
COVID -19 crisis has hit the world hard and put many lives at risk. In
these testing times, doctors, paramedics, policemen and other
administration have shown tremendous bravery while fighting this
virus.
Doctors and paramedics are facing a tough situation as they are
exposed to this virus. Still they are not backing down, and are
performing their duty. It has become very difficult for hospitals to
do Corona virus testing as the number of patients are increasing
rapidly.
Sonalika CSR has extended its support in the form of converting a
CRPF bus into a medical testing lab. This CRPF bus has been
transformed into a highly-efficient Corona Testing Mobile Clinic
www.sona l i kacs r.com
Laboratory to be used by the Government of Delhi. It will provide a
helping hand in identifying and transporting the patients. This
clinic will act as the pillar of the Delhi Government to conduct quick
and effective testing. This clinic is for door to door sample
collection and rapid testing of suspected citizens. It has facility of
inbuilt patient stretcher for transportation of severe patients in a
sterile environment. The bus is equipped with Artificial Intelligence
Enabled Thermal Imaging, UV light sterilization, climate control
system, contactless sampling and other advanced technologies. It
is designed with a potential to test over 6000 patients per month &
the sample collection capacity of over 15000 patients per month.
The bus was flagged off on 1st June, 2020 by Chief Secretary of
Delhi in the presence of government authorities and Sonalika
Team. This initiative will heavily reduce the burden on hospitals by
carrying a major chunk of testing.
We, at Sonalika CSR, believe in rising amid harsh circumstances and
we have always been following this practice and haven’t backed
down in these testing times too.
CRPF Bus Converted Into Corona Testing Mobile Clinic
Due to the widespread of Coronavirus, number of positive cases are
increasing rapidly. The only way to fight this pandemic is to maintain a good
hygiene around us. We have been making sincere efforts to prevent the
spread of this deadly virus. Whilst we are maintaining social distancing, we
also have to be cautious about maintaining proper hygiene while staying
home, working in office or going outside.
We have initiated a disinfectant drive in various parts of India. This
disinfectant drive resulted in a positive outcome as it became one of the
major effort to fight this pandemic.
We are also distributing sanitization kits in various parts of Delhi, Uttar
Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab. These
kits will help people prevent infection and maintain hygiene. With proper
hygiene, we can put a stop to the spread of the virus.
We will continue this initiative till we gain victory over this pandemic.

“No one should sleep at night, without having a proper meal”. This was the thought
when we decided to help the people fighting this difficult time. Sonalika CSR
identified slums, where the people were fighting a dual challenge of food and
hygiene and we have started this program with distributing Food & Hygiene Kits to
700 families in slums of Arjun Camp, Mahipalpur, 60 families living in slums of
Vikaspuri and 400 families of Noor Nagar slum area, respectively.
We extended our hand to the people who needed us the most, and we were lucky
to find a partner in the form of ‘MCKS Food for the Hungry Foundation’, who helped
us reach out to various areas of Delhi-NCR, where help was badly needed. The Delhi
Police also supported us by identifying the worst hit areas and, with their help, we
were able to distribute 87,000 plus food packets to people living in slums and
border areas, who were facing difficulties in managing their food. With these
cooked meals, daily wagers and labourers are having proper food during lockdown.
We are reaching to the people who need our help the most.
This lockdown has affected many lives in rural parts of India. These people are daily
wage earners and migrant labourers who have faced many difficulties and suffered
the most amid this lockdown. Their basic problem is food and sanitization and they
are encountering a massive challenge ahead of them, to eat and survive in this
pandemic. We have been already working in the urban parts of India. We believe
it’s our duty to extend our support as it is the need of the hour and we have aided
them with food and hygiene kits. This has come as a big relief for them. We are
doing our best efforts to reach those people who need our support in this
unprecedented crisis. With the distribution we have given hope of a better future
and prosperous tomorrow.
