  • We welcome you today, and always, just as you are: content or wiggly, confused or confident. In this bulletin the whole congregation says the texts in bold. When praying #togetherapart we recommend that you: sing the songs and say the responses out loud. We invite you to move your body to set your intention at different parts, and we include the directions for sitting and standing which are ‘as you are able’ and willing, because we welcome you just as you are. We also suggest that you make a home altar space somewhere near the screen you watch on, or near your telephone. We are currently sharing the classic practice of Morning Prayer as the heart of our life together. The video of this service is available as soon as Friday on our YouTube channel (CCRP Learning and Info). All are invited to share the experience together on Facebook live on Sunday mornings. We have begun by-reservation limited person Holy Communion on Sundays at 10am and first Tuesdays at 7pm. Regardless of how we continue in our mission, the church and its ministry continue while we are #togetherapart. If you would like to know more about Christ Church and how we practice the Christian faith in this time and place, we invite you to contact us. • THE LESSONS THE EPISTLE: HEBREWS 1. 1-4 A reading from the letter to the Hebrews 1Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the worlds. 3He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's very being, and he sustains all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. Reader The Word of the Lord. People Thanks be to God.

THE GOSPEL: John 1:1-14 The people stand Presider: The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ People: Glory to you, Lord Christ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He himself was not the light, but he came to testify to the light. The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and the world came into being through him; yet the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him. But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God, who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh or of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth.

Reader The Gospel of the Lord. People Praise to you Lord Christ.

FIRST COLLECT In this most gentle Christmas morning, O good and gracious God, we have gathered to behold the wonder that has taken place, for the loving kindness of our Savior has appeared. Give us words inspired enough to make known the mercy that has touched our lives, and hearts simple

SECOND COLLECT God of our Salvation, you have ordained that we should serve you in serving one another. Look upon this nation, burdened at this time with many cares and anxieties, with infection, sickness, and untimely death. Grant us grace to work together, with honest and faithful hearts, each caring for the good of all; that, striving first for your reign and its righteousness, we may have added to us all things that we need for our daily sustenance and the common good. Through the loving presence of the Holy Trinity, One God, we pray. Amen. OFFERTORY REMINDER AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Let us with gladness present the offerings and gifts of our life to the Lord. • THE GENERAL THANKSGIVING Presider and People Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up our selves to your service, and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen. CLOSING HYMN Hark! the herald angels sing H 87

And the blessing of our glorious God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be with you and enlighten you, now and for ever. Amen.
