Kids On The Rock (KOTR): Parents, the last 3 numbers on your child's check-in tag will appear on the black box to the right of the

main stage screen if your child needs you.

Preschool: Key Question: What is better than gold?

Memory Verse: “Your teachings are worth more to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.” ~ Psalm 119:72, NCV

Bible Story: The Bible tells me I can talk to God anytime. “I can pray to God.” ~ Jeremiah 29:12

K-5th graders will join their families in the worship center until next Sunday, July 13  when our 5-week summer program “SHINE” begins (9:00 am service only).  All kids that were in K-5th grade this year will NOT want to miss

out on "SHINE" where they will learn the difference between being a glory giver and a glory getter!

Please prayerfully consider signing up to help out just two or three Sundays this summer in either Preschool or in K/5. Sign up on the board in the lobby today or contact Mary Jo Brill (see back page) with any questions.

The  Young Adult Ministry  will be partnering with other young adult groups from area churches this summer!  We will meet every Wednesday at Cannonsburg Ski Area  from 7 - 9 pm for the “Forum”.  There will be worship, a speaker, and an opportunity for discussion in small groups. Please contact Bobby Moore  (see back page) with any questions.

Student Ministry Mission Trip: We are taking four vans to St. Louis and need help returning them when we get back on Saturday evening, July 26. Our leaders will be pretty tired by that point so having a few volunteers to drive the vans back to the GR Airport would be a huge blessing! Please contact Bobby Moore  (see back page)  if you can help.

Small Groups is a great way to get connected and grow at River Rock Church. Please contact us at [email protected]

Stephen Ministry:  River Rock Church enrolled in Stephen Ministry, a ministry designed to equip people to care for others.  Everyone goes through difficult times.  Having someone to care for you, to listen to you, and to share God's love with you can help get you through the confusion, stress or loneliness you may be experiencing.  We are planning a Stephen Ministry Training Course to equip Stephen Ministers beginning in September 2014. Our desire is to increase our ability to care for others, both inside and outside of River Rock Church.  If you would like to learn more about Stephen Ministry please check out their website Stephenministries.org or contact Jeanne Maher (see back page) or Laurel Verburg at [email protected]

Mission Highlight: Please pray for Wayne, Brigitte and Eric Nelson as they travel with MOSES (Making Ourselves Equipped Servants) to the Baja Peninsula in Mexico.  They will be part of a group of 21 people, some young and some not so young, which will assist churches with Vacation Bible School programs and some residential construct ion projects for families without a home of their own. They have two days of non-stop driving ahead of them, followed by eight days of service and then another two days of non-stop travel on the drive home. They will be gone July 8 - 20. Please keep them and those they’re serving and serving with in your daily prayers during this time. ~ Thank you!

Family Matters: Please join us in welcoming Mila Rose DenBesten, born to Steven and April DenBesten on Monday, May 19. Mila weighed in at 8 lbs, 2 oz and 20 inches long! Congratulations to the DenBesten family!

and also Myren Robert Frederick, born to Michael and Evie Frederick on Thursday, June 19. Myren weighed in at 9 lbs, 7 oz and 21.5 inches long! Congratulations to the Fredericks & Myren’s grandma, Sheryl Yourshaw!

"Thank you, all of you,  for your prayers, support, thoughtful expressions of sympathy, and love following the death of my husband Robert Yourshaw. The loving way you have rallied around me has been a huge comfort and blessing during this very difficult time. I am very grateful to have a church home here among you.” ~ Sheryl Yourshaw

Women’s Book Club: Ladies, we won’t be meeting during the summer but we invite you to read ‘Gone Girl’ by Gillian Flynn this summer. We would love to have you join us for a lively discussion and lots of laughs when we meet again in September! Please contact Pam Kloet at [email protected] with any questions. We hope you will join us!

Save the Date - River Rock's Festival is Back by Popular Demand!  We will be hosting a church and community outreach event from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday, August 24.  The festival will include tons of kids games, live music, awesome food and more! Best of all, the event is FREE! More details to come! Check out Festival Central in the church lobby beginning July 13 for more info and for ways to get involved! Please contact Jen DenOuden at [email protected] with any questions.

Praise in the Park! Now - September 14, music teams from local area churches will be playing Christian praise music on Sunday evenings from 6:00 - 7:15 pm at the Garden Club Park Stage next to the dam.

Please join us in congratulating Jeanne Maher, our Support and Care team leader, on passing her exam before Classis Grand Rapids North (district of Christian Reformed Churches) this past Tuesday.  The decision to grant her the privileges of a Commissioned Pastor was unanimous!  Passing this exam is a step toward ordination to the office of Commissioned Pastor. This ordination will enable Jeanne to engage in areas of ministry such as officiating weddings, funerals and baptisms, as well as visiting at hospitals with pastor privileges and offering the sacraments during the Lord's Supper.  An ordination service is being planned, stay tuned for the details!
