    ***COVID-19 UPDATE: FEELING SAFE IN THE SANCTUARY: As you should be aware of by now, the Governor has declared the Town of Evans as being in an Orange Level COVID-19 Micro-Cluster Zone in Erie County as of November 18, 2020. Thus, we must make adjustments to our services and operations to ensure everyone’s safety until this situation improves. We have necessary precautions in place for your participation but if you do not currently feel comfortable and choose not to attend, we fully understand and appreciate your concerns. If you cannot be with us in person, be sure to watch online via Facebook Live and let us know how we can keep you connected to our church family. Here are our new "rules of engagement" for worship services:

    1. Per the Governor's directive, the maximum capacity for worship services in this zone is 25 people. Everyone is welcome but we ask that you RSVP to [email protected] or 716-549-2144 if you plan on attending so that we can accommodate you as safely as possible.

    2. If you are ill or not feeling well, please refrain from attending until you feel better or are cleared medically. You can continue to watch the worship services online.

    3. The following activities are suspended until further notice: a. Communion distribution b. Post-worship fellowship activities c. Weekly men's breakfast gathering

    4. Unless otherwise necessary, please enter and leave the church through the narthex door. 5. Please wear an appropriate face covering AT ALL TIMES while in church buildings. 6. Hand sanitizer is available for your convenience on the table in the Narthex as you enter, in your pew,

    and at other locations throughout the sanctuary. All horizontal surfaces in the sanctuary and balcony are sanitized prior to worship.

    7. Please sit in staggered half-pews where a tissue box, hand sanitizer and bulletins are present, and sit only with your family unit (or with other congregants you consider family), or where all parties are comfortable sitting near each other

    8. All services will continue to be streamed via Facebook Live and we will keep everyone updated via email and our website as this situation develops.

    Readings

    Reading Isaiah 64:1–9 – NIV P.783 A The Old Testament Reading is from Isaiah, chapter 64.

    1Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down,

    that the mountains might quake at your presence— 2 as when fire kindles brushwood

    and the fire causes water to boil—

    to make your name known to your adversaries,

    and that the nations might tremble at your presence! 3When you did awesome things that we did not look for,

    you came down, the mountains quaked at your presence. 4From of old no one has heard

    or perceived by the ear,

    no eye has seen a God besides you,

    who acts for those who wait for him. 5You meet him who joyfully works righteousness,

    those who remember you in your ways.

    Behold, you were angry, and we sinned;

    in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved? 6We have all become like one who is unclean,

    and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.

    We all fade like a leaf,

    and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. 7There is no one who calls upon your name,

    who rouses himself to take hold of you;

    for you have hidden your face from us,

    and have made us melt in the hand of our iniquities. 8But now, O LORD, you are our Father;

    we are the clay, and you are our potter;

    we are all the work of your hand. 9Be not so terribly angry, O LORD,

    and remember not iniquity forever.

    Behold, please look, we are all your people.

    A This is the Word of the Lord.

    C Thanks be to God.

    Reading 1 Corinthians 1:3–9 – NIV P.1193 A The Epistle is from 1 Corinthians, chapter 1.

    3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

    4I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, 5that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge—6even as the testimony about

    Christ was confirmed among you—7so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the

    revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus

    Christ. 9God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

    A This is the Word of the Lord.

    C Thanks be to God.

    Reading Mark 11:1–10 P The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark, the eleventh chapter.

    C Glory to You, O Lord.

    1When they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his

    disciples 2and said to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a

    colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. 3If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’

    say, ‘The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.’” 4And they went away and found a colt

    tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. 5And some of those standing there said to them, “What

    are you doing, untying the colt?” 6And they told them what Jesus had said, and they let them go. 7And they

    brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. 8And many spread their cloaks on the

    road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. 9And those who went before and those

    who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! 10Blessed is the

    coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!”

    P This is the Gospel of the Lord.

    C Praise to You, O Christ.

    Apostles’ Creed C I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

    maker of heaven and earth.

    And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,

    who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

    born of the virgin Mary,

    suffered under Pontius Pilate,

    was crucified, died and was buried.

    He descended into hell.

    The third day He rose again from the dead.

    He ascended into heaven

    and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

    From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit,

    the holy Christian Church,

    the communion of saints,

    the forgiveness of sins,

    the resurrection of the body,

    and the life T everlasting. Amen.

    Back then to His throne and crown.

    6 For You are the Father’s Son

    Who in flesh the vict’ry won.

    By Your mighty pow’r make whole

    All our ills of flesh and soul.
