To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org. You can also visit our welcome desk in the Welcome Center, located directly behind the sanctuary.
Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An Elder and his wife will be standing next to the pastor following the service to talk or pray with you.
Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Kiosks are available in the Narthex and in the Children’s Lobby. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available to assist you.
Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-K through fourth grade during the morning services. Leaders will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Children in pre-K through second grade remain in their classrooms until they are picked up by a parent.
Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We provide a Mother/Infant Room (room 160) located in the Ebenezer Building behind the sanctuary, and the Geneva Room is designated as a cry room for parents with fussy children. Both rooms are equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.
Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.
As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

The Meditation—Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing ............... arr. Craig Courtney
Theme: Sovereign Mercy
The Prelude—Rock of Ages ................................................................. arr. Diane Bish
†The Call to Worship .............................................................. from Psalm 122 and 123I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
We lift up our eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven.
As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master and the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress,
So our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy.
The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!
Come, thou fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace;Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise.Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above;Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, mount of thy redeeming love! O to grace, how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be!Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee;Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love. Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above!

† Indicates the congregation standing. § Please kneel if able to do so.
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell.* The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ........................................................Isaiah 55:6, 7Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
Almighty, eternal God and Father, we confess and acknowledge that wewere conceived and born in sin, and are therefore inclined to all evil and slow toall good, that we transgress thy holy commandments without ceasing, and evermore corrupt ourselves. But we are sorry for the same, and seek thy grace andhelp. Please have mercy upon us, most gracious and merciful God andFather, through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Grant to us and increase in usthy Holy Spirit, that we may recognize our sin and unrighteousness from thebottom of our hearts, attain true repentance and sorrow for them, die to themwholly, and please thee entirely by a new and godly life. Amen.

We pray for blessings, we pray for peaceComfort for family, protection while we sleepWe pray for healing, for prosperityWe pray for your mighty hand to ease our sufferingAnd all the while you hear each spoken needYet love is way too much to give us lesser things ’Cause what if your blessings come through raindropsWhat if your healing comes through tearsAnd what if a thousand sleepless nightsAre what it takes to know you’re nearAnd what if trials of this lifeAre your mercies in disguise We pray for wisdom, your voice to hearWe cry in anger when we cannot feel you nearWe doubt your goodness, we doubt your loveAs if ev’ry promise from your Word is not enoughAnd all the while you hear each desp’rate pleaAnd long that we’d have faith to believe When friends betray usWhen darkness seems to winWe know that pain reminds this heartThat this is not, this is not our homeIt’s not our home What if my greatest disappointmentsOr the aching of this lifeIs a revealing of a greater thirstThis world can’t satisfyAnd what if trials of this lifeThe rain, the storms, the hardest nightsAre your mercies in disguise
