WOUNDED WARRIORS FUNDRAISER
By: Team awesome (1)
(Nathan, Mahreen, Kaylex, Dreyris, Mike)
OUR MISSION
Raise 100 dollars for the wounded warrior project
Pass this class
Have fun as a team and enjoy the experience
WHAT IS THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT?
This is a charity service that provides aid to injured service members and their families so that our troops can try to live a normal life again.
• Provide Mental aid• Healthcare• Family Support• Raise Awareness of PTSD• Support our Troops!
WHAT’S THE PLAN?
Our plan was to sell doughnut's from Krispy Kreme through their fundraiser opportunities.
• Quantity: purchase 25 boxes of doughnuts• Cost: $3.75 a box• Selling price: $1.00 a doughnut
• Profit: • Per box was $8.25 (12-3.75=8.25)• Total profit was $206.25 (8.25x25=206.25)
GAME PLAN CONTINUED
How were we going to sell these doughnuts?• There was a festival called the Bourbon and Beer
Festival taking place at Atlantic station on Feb 28th 2015• We assumed people would bring cash to enter the festival,
and last year thousands attended the event• So we figured that we could sell 25 boxes of doughnuts
with such a large volume of people who were carrying cash• Each person was to grab 5 boxes and sell all of their
doughnuts at Atlantic Station one block from the entrance of the event (couldn’t go inside because it was expensive and their were no solicitations)
CHALLENGES
We didn’t make the festival, so coordinating schedules became a major issue for our group
Having the initial captiol to purchase doughnuts to sell for our fundraiser
Krispy Kreme was nowhere near GGC, but Dunkin Doughnuts became our next best option
Scheduling is a nightmare for 5 college students, some who work part-time and full time jobs
Communication can be a trial of patience
NEXT GAMEPLAN
Each group member was to purchase doughnuts at their leisure from Dunkin Doughnuts and sell them for a dollar a doughnut.
• Each group member became responisible for their quota, and in essence, their grade
• This made it easy for planning purposes, no micro managing and allowed each group member freedom to sell at their pace on their schedule
ORGANIZATION
Nathan: Leader/planning coordinator/Presentation outline
Mahreen: Communication
Kaylex: Sales Ideas
Dreyris: Picking charity/Design
Mike: Accountability and Progress Tracker
WERE WE ORGANIZED?
Yes, mainly because...• We had our set goals • Who was in charge of what• Deadlines• Charity Donation• Leadership Roles• Self-Accountability• Text based communication and email
LEADERSHIP
Everyone was given tasks and was held accountable for raising their share (1/5th) of the required donation.
Nathan became the leader because of his ability to communicate and make rash decisions lol
• But each group member was a leader in their own way
• “self accountability”
WE ARE CONTROL FREAKS
Despite the festival failure, we implemented control guidelines for our project.
• Group meetings• Deadline for Money• Presentation meet up times• Hourly rate week reports (group member progress)• Picked one location to purchase doughnuts from and
set quota for the quantity of goods to sell• Made group members accountable for meet ups and
deadlines
GIVE ME THE CASH
Our financial deadline for donating to the wounded warrior project was changed to April 1st, 2015.
• We made it early so we could puttogether our presentation
• This allowed flexibility with our control process
POW-WOWS
Our group tended to weekly meet ups on Friday afternoon at the GGC Library
• This was a convenient location• Worked with multiple schedules• Allowed face to face communication instead of
texting• Also gave us the oppurtunity to show eachother our
performance reports• How much we sold and still needed to sell• How many hours we put in

EXPLANATION
I played varsity baseball for three years at Berkmar High School.
On the team, there are 16 players plus 4 coaches and 28 parents.
Since my brother is currently playing in the team, I come to most of their games and it wasn't a far drive from my house.
I decided to sell the doughnuts at the concession stand with the consent from the head coach of the baseball team.
Baseball is not a popular sport at my high school, so not that many fans come by to watch.
Players are always hungry after games so they were my best customers.
I sold dougnuts from 5:30-8:30 and I went to two games which took me a total of 6 hours to sell 2 dozens of doughnuts.

planning and coordinating 5 hours. Presentation building: 3 hours• Total hours 14 hours

We currently do a fundraiser for Chik-Fil-a every drill weekend, however I asked if they would let me do this for the March drill weekend on the 7th of March.
Veterans support wounded veterans ;)
6:30am the doughnuts were placed on the table, by 12:30pm they were all gone
