TASK 3.1 Mapping stakeholders 1/3 Task leader: DLR, DE Task support: FCT, PT and ASRT, EG Aim: to foster the visibility of the diverse landscape of
stakeholders being active in the various thematic areas of Science with and for Society
How: compilation of a directory which will list key SWAFS stakeholders (covering all European countries that have a SWAFS NCP). This collection of relevant players will strengthen the knowledge of NCPs and also of newcomers to the programme about relevant stakeholders in Europe and beyond
TASK 3.1 Mapping stakeholders 2/3 Collection will include
stakeholders with experience in the former Science and Society (FP6) and Science in Society programmes (FP7)
ground-breaking’ SWAFS/SiS communities and networks (e.g. RRI Tools, PLACES or ECSITE) and players featured in the national MASIS reports will be considered as far as possible
further stakeholders shall given the opportunity to register
IMPORTANT: the continued support from the whole network is essential in maintaining and completing this collection of stakeholders
TASK 3.1 Mapping stakeholders 3/3 Current status
more than 1.500 stakeholders collected
PMB decision to create a database in March
ASRT, EG responsible for the set up of database
issue of data protection needs to be clarified; best technical solution on how to contact stakeholders and ask for their consent needs to be identified and implemented asap
Objective: to have the database running within the next few weeks
Work load of task is much higher and complicated than expected
Task 3.2 CSOs and SMEs 1/2 Task Leader: IPPT-PAN, PL; Task support: RPF, CY and AMEUP, HR
Aim: to promote Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Small and Medium- Sized Enterprises (SMEs) involvement in the future SWAFS projects
How:
(1) mapping and promotion of CSOs and SMEs as potential important participants in the future Science with and for Society projects (cooperation with 3.1. Mapping stakeholders)
the list will cover CSOs and SMEs which have been active during FP7 (and FP6 if possible) as well as we will look for ‘new’ CSOs and SMEs
IMPORTANT: each SWAFS NCP will be asked to find/select as many as possible CSOs or/and SMEs in his/her country
Task 3.2 CSOs and SMEs 2/2 (2) contact with representatives of selected CSOs and SMEs in
order to discuss and exchange experiences related to participation in the Programme and to prepare a small guide for CSOs and SMEs; it will include a list of identified success stories, recommendations for the newcomers among CSOs and SMEs as well as NCPs in order to facilitate their involvement in the future Science with and for Society projects
(3) organisation of brokerage events (cooperation with task 3.3 Brokerage events) with a strong emphasis on CSOs and SMEs participation, including a session where the most promising CSOs and SMEs will be presented
Task 3.3 Brokerage events 1/4 Task leader: APRE, IT Task support: IPPT-PAN, PL; NHRF, EL Aim: to promote and encourage engagement with Horizon
2020 and enhance networking and collaboration among researchers in Europe and beyond
How: oranisation of 3 brokerage events in cooperation with the European Commission in order to facilitate access and involvement of the broadest possible group of stakeholders and to provide an opportunity and environment to potential programme participants to meet partners for projects

morning session: first-hand information about Horizon 2020 Science with and for Society calls
afternoon session: bilateral meetings with potential coordinators and partners in an encouraging and fruitful networking environment
IMPORTANT: each SWAFS NCP will be asked to promote this events as widely as possible

Aim: to enhance third country participation in the Science with and for Society programme and strengthen the international collaboration of European research organizations
Task 3.4. Science with and for Society in 3rd countries 2/2 How:
preparation of dedicated webpage for ICPC with frequent updates which will be linked to the project website, promotional materials for ICPC including a booklet of previous 12 ICPC success stories in FP7 Science in Society programme
organisation of 3 capacity building sessions at ICPC events targeting the needs of third countries for better involvement and effective participation in Horizon 2020 Science with and for Society programme (TBC: 28-29.10.2015, Cairo)
