Owen Edwards - I am an international competitive athlete and current British National Ice Dance Champion I am very happy to support the Wrexham Year of Culture 2011 because I feel it is a great opportunity to promote a sense of community and cooperation

within the Wrexham area I hope it will enable people to meet others face new challenges and bond together to learn more about one another and the area in which we live

Lydia Griffiths - I am over the moon to be asked to be a patron of such a wonderful and exciting venture I instantly felt I had to jump on board when I thought about the masses of talent we have in our local area and how people need a platform to springshyboard them into the limelight It

was so important for me to get involved with every aspect of music as a child - amateur dramatics choirs concerts bands etc - the experience has proved invaluable to me as a professional singer Irsquom looking forward to seeing the events unfold and urge everybody to come along and support Wrexhamrsquos Year of Culture

Tom James - I was delighted to be asked to become a patron of Wrexham Year of Culture 2011 Wrexham is a very diverse town with a lot of local talent in many cultural genres It is good to see that a wide definition for what classes as lsquoculturersquo has been accepted as sports

and our sporting history have a very important role in Wrexham I am looking forward to seeing the variety of events taking place over the coming twelve months and would encourage everyone to join in to make sure that Wrexham Year of Culture 2011 is a huge success
