Writer Test 2
Hello and welcome.
This little test is just our way of getting to
know you better. If we were dogs, we could
just sniff each other’s hindquarters. But in a
polite society, that’s strictly frowned upon.
Please answer all the questions to the
best of your ability. If you get in a jam,
just clear your head and draw upon the
deepest reaches of your creativity to solve
the problem. That’s how we do it here at
CPB, and we think it works pretty well.
Good luck.

Circle the mistakes in the passage below.
9 o’clock on a Sunday morning is a little
early for visitors. But the man that was
standing on my doorstep wearing a grey
suit and a black Marlin’s cap seemed
unaware of the early hour. He was busily
typing a message into his pda. Have
you seen the new Blackberry’s? They’re
sweet, let me tell you. Against my better
judgment, I invited him in. He walked
towards my book shelves and eyed my
collection of vintage absinthe spoons.
“Are you the gentleman who’ ’s laptop got
stolen? ” he asked.
My eyes narrowed. “I assure you my home
and all it ’s contents are protected against
fire, theft, and act’s of God. So if your
selling insurance, I am fully covered.”
I ’m so dissapointed with you. This is
the sort of argument I hear from people
everyday. They think their immune to
misfortune or plain old bad luck.”
I felt dizzy, like I needed to lay down on
the couch. The man continued his sales
pitch.
“Loose the selfish attitude, buddy. Think
about your family. Let me write a policy
for you. I just need to ask you a few
questions so I can f lush out the details.”
I relented. “Your right. I am being selfish.
When can I sign the papers? ”
“I had a meeting scheduled for Friday,
however, it was canceled.”
“ Then come back on Friday,” I replied. He
tipped his cap and walked away. I planned
on vacationing at my parent’s mountain
cabin on Friday.
