WRITTEN CONTENT
Q1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
USE/DEVELOP
MAGAZINE• For my front cover I chose words I felt were the most important to have the largest e.g ‘help for heroes’
‘partnership’ ‘sophie’ in order to attract readers and give them a quick insight into the magazine.• For my contents page I made the largest text the most important again in order to attract readers and give
them a brief insight for easy navigation when deciding to buy the magazine or not.• For my double page spread I chose emotional words in order to intrigue the reader and also to reach them
on a more personal level which my target audience in specific would enjoy in a magazine.
BILLBOARDWEBSITE
• For my billboard I again chose the most important and simple words in which passers by could process quickly and know what message I’m trying to send across. I stuck to typical conventions here as I felt this convention worked best for what message I was conveying.
• For my website my written language choices were the same as my billboard and magazine to keep in with a house-style. The most important text the largest to draw the reader in and the smaller text the detail to the larger text.
For all of my tasks I used North East slang in order to fit with the regional genre of the magazine, as I have
seen no regional magazines follow this I am challenging conventions. However by doing this I feel
that I am reaching y target audience as a more personal level which is something they would like and also it further sets apart my regional magazine from
national ones.
