    Dear Kermit:

This is a letter of confirmation on your reception of WQXM-AM,

operating on its assigned frequency of 1120 kiloHertz. The information

you gave was correct for Sunday evening, February 5, 1984, from 6:02 to

    6:16 P. M.

Just in case you are interested, the name of the car dealer was

Jimmy Childre Chevrolet -Olds. The music you heard may be familiar,

that is if you have listened to one of our other affiliates. We program

the Bonneville Million Dollar Sound via satellite from Chicago. Response

has been great here in the middle Georgia area, especially since we are

the only beautiful music station within 100 miles.

Thanks again for the letter, and hope to hear from you again!

Dear Kermit, Thank you for the reception report of WBGA

on April fourth. I am pleased to hear you can pick the station out that far north. You do have an exellent reciever with the antenna network set up properly. Your report is the northernmost report recieved as of now.

I can only confirm the first part of you're report. The type of music is correct for WBGA and of course the call sign is proof in itself. We do have United Methodist Church aired on sunday. Brunswick is a coastal city and that ties into the weather report you heard. The bad news is we don't have a GW Smith Lumber Company in town. In looking at you're report times it appears WBGA skywave can come through at certain times, which is typical. The other station is probably more to the west about the same distance away from you as WBGA. This is only an "educated" guess.

Here are some details about WBGA. The transmitter site is on Blythe Island. We use a three tower array. The power is 5000 watts nondirectional daytime and 1000 watts directional nightime. We use a Harras MW5 PDM modulated transmitter coupled to a Harris Phasor that allows switching patterns. The audio line uses a Harris Tri Band Processor fed by a Teac console. The actual control room is about ten feet square with the console facing the production room window. Since the station is live there are a set of turntables and cart machines. In other words like a WKRP setup in the controll room.

I have covered the very basic description of the station. If you care for more information please write me and I'll try to be of help.

    Sincerely

    Hank Bauer Chief Engineer

It was an extreme pleasure to receive your letter of October 29, and most of all to learn that we are being heard in my native state of Pennsylvania. We have had calls and letters from all over the South and Southeast, but beleive me, it is a pleasure to hear from a fellow Pennsylvanian.

I have spent many happy hours in Philadelphia. However, my home is in the Pittsburgh area. I have been in the broadcast business some sixteen years in and about Pittsburgh before coming to Georgia two years ago. This explains my enthusiam about your letter.

Needless to say, we were very pleased to learn how well our signal was received on Friday, October 29. We had made some changes on our ground system on that date and it was interesting to note that it had helped to increase our signal strength.

We are using a Collins equipment throughout, with a stainless 200 foot guyed tower with a ground system of 120 hard drawn copper wire radials 200 feet long, located 2.4 miles beyond the City Limits in bottom land.

I am enclosing a copy of the Warner Robins Story prepared by the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce some two years ago. Since that time the population has exceeded the 20,000 mark.

Once again, Mr. Geary, may I say we were very happy to hear from you and receive your detailed log of our broadcast. Your log checks with our log sheet exactly.

Sincere warm wishes from the "Sunny South".

    Dear Mr. Geary;

On behalf of the entire WRSG staff, we thank you for your letter. It is very pleasing to know that 1540 WRSG is reaching listeners at such a great distance.

Your letter is significant in the fac t that it is the first that we have received from Pennsylvania. We have received letters from listeners as far away as Southern Canada. Letters from Missouri, Mississippi, Southern Florida, New York, and North Georgia have arrived telling of WRSG recpetion. Thanks so much for the tape.

The reason we do so well on skip is two fold 1) We operate on a foreign Class I -A Clear Channel. 1540Khz is assigned to a station in Nassau,Bahamas. I have been to the city and I can't, for the life of me, understand why such a small town would get a Clear Channel, but it did. WRSG is the most southern station operating on this channel which is, compared to other radio channels, pretty open.2) We utilize a folded-unipole radiator that projects the signal skyward, more than other types of radiators.

WRSG utilizes 1000 Watts with a Gates BC -1G transmitters that mod- ulates with 95% peaks. Our towers is located in a good wt area, being 184 Foot tall.

I have enclosed some information on WRSG RADIO. We invite you to come see us in Sylvester, The Peanut Capitol of The World, if ever down this way.

As stated in your letter, we installed a new transmitter (Harris DX15) in September 2002. We

    Dear Kermit,

This is to confirm your report of reception of WMOC on

Nov. 20, 1948. You gave very good and accurate proof that you

received us. I am glad to know that we are putting such a good

    signal into Walnutport now.

When you first received us some time ago, we were radiating

210 Watts instead of 250. This was due to a change in Antenna

resistance which we did not discover and compensate for until

recently. This means that you might receive us just a very little

    bit better than previously.

Many thanks for your cooperation and your fine report.

    Dear Kermit:

I have been in receipt of your two letters, one éted October 29, and the other dated November 6, 1982, each containing a tape of your reception of WDYX.

I am happy to report that the first letter and second letter and tapes were of a great interest to us, however, as we can best determine the first reception report was in error. However, the second one is a correct reception report of WDYX on the date of Friday November 5, 1982. In listening to the earléer tape we have been able to conclude that the actual sign off was our correct sign off, but the news report and the announcer just prior to that was apparently a cross -over of another station.

We appreciate your interest, and if we can be of any furthur service, please let us know .

    Dear Kermit,

Thanks very mach for your very compi. irrentary Letter of November 18th. Your reception Log is correct for the morning of November 17th, as that was our reguLarLy scheduled frequency measurement test.

We transmit a 500 cycle tone with station iden- tification every two minutes during the period 0130-OI1IOEST on the third Saturday morning of each month. You might Listen again next month if you wish as 1 wouLd appreciate your report of reception. The next date WILL be December 15th.

We use the 500 cycle tone so as not to interfere with any ConeLrad monitors who might be monitoring that freq- uency as their alarms are activated by a 1000 cycle tone.

Our transmitting antenna is a 176' vertical radi- ator situated in an abandoned rice field on the edge of the city. This makes a very nice ground system.

    Thanks again and best wishes,

    George Andrews Chief Engineer

    Dear Mr. Geary,

I imagine this verification is a little different from any you have received.

You called our schedule to a "T". It seems to be word for word as they were uttered, with just one word left out. Where you had Western Georgia, we say West Central Georgia.

Enjoyed your letter, and took the liberty to reproduce it in the attached folders whibch we will use on all outgoing mail until 500 of them have

been used up. I mailed one to all local hams and they were quite interested.

We are located in that part of Georgia that was hit real hard by L>herman's march to the sea. Area showed no progress for many years, as we were pretty much as Germany now seems to be. But in the last thirty years have moved forward industrially. We have four large textile plants. The rural areas of our county shipped more peaches than any other county in the world until a few years ago when the farmers

started turning to the beef cattle business. Our weather is ideal. W rm but above the mosquito and gnat territory.

    Thanks again for your letter.

    Yours very truly,

    Dear Mr. Geary:

Thank you for your report of reception of the signals of WKMA on Saturday,

September 13, from 2:45 to 3:02 AM, EST.

I have compared your report with our log for times, and checked the text of the

announcements and find them both accurate. Since I was on duty at the time and did

the announcing, I can verify your report completely.

Our equipment here consists of an RCA 250-D Transmitter ( PP 805s plate modulated

by PP 805s) feeding a 150 foot aluminum straight sided guyed tower through a 120

foot four wire balanced transmission line. The remainder of the transmitter house

equipment consists of an RCA limiter, two turntables, mike and speech amplifier, and

    small control console.

The studio speech equipment is all Gates except for the custom built console and

QRK turntables. We have an announcing booth, a production studio, and an auditorium,

with the control room operator stationed so as to be able tosee all of them.

The studios are located in Quitman proper and the program is fed to two lines

going to the transmitter which is located on high ground one mile northeast of the

    town.

Thank you again for your report, and may all your reception be DX.
