• Private 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization

• Funding generated by memberships, fees, and private donations

• Not a state agency or part of the SC State Park system

• Our long term goal is to be self-sufficient and self-sustaining

Project Objectives• Create a public relations campaign; design and

distribute a press release promoting Frontier Days and Earth Day

• Arrange media coverage

• Create ads promoting Frontier Days and Earth Day; consider use of online ads vs. print ads

• Create a flyer promoting Frontier Days and Earth Day; distribute the flyer in Baxter Village

• Participate in event marketing on April 16 (Earth Day); distribute membership applications to event attendees and sell merchandise

• Total budget for this project is $500; budget variances must be approved

What are our real goals?• Create an inviting and fun environment for people to visit

• “The Greenway is a cool place to go” ~ “We have fun on the Greenway” ~ “We actually learned something today”

• Become a destination location for people looking for outdoor low impact recreation

• Generate genuine interest in environmental stewardship; be recognized as a regional leader in environmental awareness

• Provide unique venues and events for the community

• Create and offer programs with an emphasizes the cultural and historical significance of the Greenway

• Build Greenway revenue by increasing community awareness, and ultimately, the membership and sponsorship bases

Fort Mill Frontier Days (1)

Webb’s Mill• Sunday, March 20

• 1:00-5:00 pm

• Parking at corner of Steele Street & Springfield Parkway in Fort Mill, SC

• Free admission with membership or paid daily access to Greenway

• Short trail hike required to grist mill and related sites

Grist Mill Program• Interpretation of mill site,

grinding stones, head race, and tail race

• Guided hikes to original crib dam and mill pond

• Education exhibits and demonstrations

• “Miller” will be dressed in period appropriate clothing

• Sunday, March 27

• 1:00-5:00 pm

• Access at Dairy Barn entrance on Old Nation Road, parking available

• Free admission with membership or paid daily access to Greenway

• Short walk required to cabins
