Using the same sensor and circuitry, we can now use a particle filter as the flow restriction element. With intelligent sub-routines, the device can self-calibrate.
The device can monitor the status of the filter over time and tell the operator or a computer when the filter is clogged to a critical point.

Bus DescriptionsBus Descriptions
Modbus Devices: Based on an RS-485 physical layer Communication protocol invented by Modicon (PLC manufacturer) Widely used in automation products and integrated with almost all PLCs Typically used in Class 1, Div2 (zone 2) applications but can be used in Class 1
Div 1 with IS certified devices and IS isolator repeater/barriers Limited to 1-2 devices per Isolator/Repeater due to power consumption (i.e. 24V
technology) Siemens Maxum I2C: Based on proprietary physical layer
Used inside of Siemens Applied Automation Inc. (SAAI) process GC for years Robust and simple, Plug-and-Play Can only be used with Siemens hardware (configured to Siemens specifications)
CAN bus Devices: based on CiA103 physical layer standard CT76 iCAN™: CIRCOR Application Layer Protocol based on “Modbus emulation”
and IEEE1451.1 Electronic Data Sheet description using CiA103 physical layer and core Bosch CAN 2.0 data link layer (ISO 11889-1)
CANopen: A open standard application layer (EN 50325-4, CiA DS301) (more device resources needed, but available today)

SummarySummary
Circor has submitted hazardous area certification files to IEC-US-Canada and ATEX for IS Can bus and Modbus devices (valves, sensors, multi-variable flow, flow and pressure control)
Simple Gateways allow for connectivity to any architecture (Ethernet, PLC, SAM, data loggers, etc)
Next steps include driving TEDs for CANopen, SAM (application interface??), and derivations of core technology available today
