• The State Emergency Operations Center and Florida’s 67 counties will be activated to monitor the rollover into 1/1/2000.

• Florida’s 67 Counties will coordinate local Y2K reporting to the State.

• The State Emergency Operations Center will coordinate Y2K reporting to the Federal Government.

• State Emergency Response Team will brief each Monday @ 8:00 a.m. EST from December 6 - December 27, 1999.

• The State Emergency Operations Center will go to a Level 2 activation on December 31 at 6:00 a.m. EST.

• We will follow the progress of Y2K across the World.

• If Y2K related problems occur overseas, we will increase the readiness levels of the State.

• 2:00 am EST 1/1/2000, if there has been no Y2K related issues, the State Emergency Operations Center will go back to Level 1.

• January 3, 2000, the State Emergency Operations Center will go to Level 2 to monitor the first business day of 2000.

• If no Y2K related issues, we will go back to Level 1 at Noon EST 1/3/2000.

Winter Hazards

• Extremely dry conditions to start off 2000

• Above normal average temperatures (dry sunny days) but cold “snaps” are still expected

• Severe weather associated with cold fronts
