The game mandates a tutorial each time you go through the game, so it's not a big surprise about what you can or cannot do. The most recent trick you can do is displayed on the upgrade menu.

    Controls Skills

    Actions What's it do

Weak Attack A fast attack that may be chained to attack enemies. Does light damage, but responds quickly to the situation.

Strong Attack A slow powerful attack that delivers more damage. Not as responsive to quick enemies or those who will counterattack.

Rage Attack Requires the rage to be enabled first. Once enraged, Logan (on the Wii) may hold both attack buttons then waggle the remote and nunchuk for various attacks.

     Up and down for somersault.

Side to side for spinning slice.

Nunchuk and remote apart for uppercut.

Opportunity A special attack available against downed foes (periodically doesn't work). Use the weak slash to trigger it.

Quake Recovery Logan can ukemi from a strong blow by timing his block (PS2) or by dipping the remote downwards. This lets you recover and keep attacking.

Pounce or Lunge Logan can lunge at enemies (not needed except in special boss fights) or at various portions of the environment. This is how he can cross gaps best navigable by super power flight.

For the PS2, it's easy, pounce and follow the buttons to get across. For the Wii, mimic the motion on the screen after attempting a lunge.

Feral Sense Logan can smell/sense other things by using this. There is no penalty when in this view mode (unlike Ninja Vision in Ninja Blade) but anything revealed in this mode can be attacked or broken by enemy attacks as well as Logan's.

  • Block This will block against almost all attacks in most directions. Logan's healing factor makes it difficult to see if an attack is really chipping him away. However, blocking is needed against certa bosses on the Elite difficulty to avoid being killed.

Throw This lets Logan jab his claws into an enemy and throw him. Fairly easy on the PS2 and obnoxious on the Wii -- you have to hold the Block key and push the stick to an enemy to stab-throw.

Dodge Use the right stick or the D-pad on the Wii. A must-have function when fighting bosses on the Elite difficulty since one hit will kill Logan (even at max upgrade). Note Logan cannot dodge when his attack frames are still being animated.

Logan has several upgrades he can plow his experience points into. Since you can replay the whole game once you complete it on any difficulty, it would be to your advantage to play the game first through on easy to upgrade your hero suitably.

Once experience is spent into an upgrade, you cannot undo it when you leave the menu. Be wary what you spend it on, and milk the enemies out of all the experience they can drop.

    Controls Skills

    Health Increase

Maximum level 6. This increases the maximum lifebar of Logan. Note that Logan starts at the 50% of his potential maximum. Each block adds a little bit more to his maximum life bar.

Health Recharge Maximum level 6. This increases the rate at which Logan refills his life when injured and not fighting. Note Logan can be running or blocking and still regenerate life. It's probably better to upgrade this with the defence stats instead of just increasing life all the time.

Combat Damage Maximum level 6. This increases the damage done by Logan in normal and rage attacks. Increase this skill with his defence and regeneration to make him more effective in slaying enemies for experience.

Rage! Maximum level 3. Increases the damage done by Logan in rage mode. This appends to the damage skill, giving Logan an incredible damage bonus in rage mode.

Bullet Resist Maximum level 4/5. This increases Logan's defence against firearms. Increase this along with the other defence stat.

Toughness Maximum level 4/5. This increases Logan's defence against melee attacks. Increase this with the other defence stat.

Feral Duration Maximum level 3/4. This is increases the extra-sensory mode by a little bit. Although you can use it intermittently, this lets you stay in enhanced view longer.

Feral Regeneration Maximum level 3/4. This regenerates the feral meter so you can use it more often. It's cheaper to upgrade this than the actual feral sense duration.

Weapon X This is the rage attack for Logan (he will automatically earn level 1). Each new level allows him to do a different rage

  • attack (the final level is able to kill the last boss on Elite difficulty in two hits with the rage and damage upgrades).

Grab Finisher Maximum level 3. Unnecessary. Increases the number of grabs allowed by Logan. The variant grabs do not really increase damage; that's done by the damage skill.

Lunge Attack Maximum level 3. This increases the pounce/lunge attacks Logan can do. This does not let him do more damage, but varies the attacks if you want something to do.

    Chapter 1: Canadian Wilderness

This is the start of the game. This trains you to use the smell-o-vision (Feral sense). Notice how the fence will change color to yellow to show you that you can interact with (or break) the object.

If the enemies are too tough, make sure to change your difficulty to something easier. Upgraded characters will have an easier time to go through the game on Elite.

Some places only require you to jump (not lunge) across a gap. Hop the gap and during the feral lunge tutorial grab the sentinel observer.

    Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3

    Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6

    Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9

  • Past the lunge tutorial, there is another sentinel observer. Note Logan will flash the red vision if there is one nearby (when exploring in normal vision).

Logan cannot swim in this game. Hence, when there doesn't seem to be solid ground to stand on, spam the lunge button while spinning and moving Logan around. He will lock onto something more often than not.

Before inspecting the wreck to find what's left of your woman, check the area for this sentinel observer. Check the wreck to move onto the next area.

  • Outside the bar, check the right side of the arena for a sentinel. Inside, fight Creed by using the block and taking care to attack when he's vulnerable. There is a sentinel observer in the bar -- far right side of the bar.

Pursue Creed by kicking the dumpster. There is a sentinel observer past the door. Get to the truck by spamming the lunge button when you near the window. The marker will appear on the truck. Leap when possible to clear this puzzle.

Fight Creed on the truck. Grab the sentinel on the truck's trailer while fighting. Creed is only hard when he flings Logan off and attempts to use the truck to run him over. Match the button presses to avoid dying. Dying during the QTE will force a fight from the very beginning.

  • After driving off Creed, the truck crashes into the logging compound. Before following Creed's scent, jump onto the truck and check the small office for a sentinel observer. Before leaving the through the door, check the wood slats for another sentinel observer.

Check the yard for a vulnerable spot in the silo. Smash it open for a blob card to fight the Blob on the main menu. The only way to open the silo is to detonate the propane tank next to the silo.

To get to the next yard, kick the cart to the end of the track and check the roof of the

  • building for another sentinel. Be sure to clear out enemies before moving on, otherwise you will lose out on experience. Follow the scent trail over the roof and grab the sentinel on the right side before leaving.

At the start of the barracks, wait for the end of the conversation for an experience bonus. Once that's done, check the roof and the corner of the barracks yard for sentinel observers.

To get out of the yard, use the lunge at the telephone pole to get from the first barracks yard to the next yard.

  • There is a blob card behind the camera in the next yard. Follow the scent trail to the next gate (tear it apart with the claws). Don't miss the sentinel.

Drop into the final barracks yard to find a sentinel and locate the forklift. To get to the forklift, lunge across the rooftop. Kick the forklift past the gate and use it to get across to the other roof.

Head into the shed, have Creed lock it behind you. Before leaving, check the shed's interior for a sentinel observer and a blob card. To get out, kick the cart to the door, mantle it, and ope tne console to get outside.

Outside, fight Creed once more. Use the dodge to avoid the crane and to evade Creed. Otherwise you can fight him the same way.

    Chapter 2: Alkali Lake

Logan will unlock the rage meter near the start of this mission. Simply leave the surgery room and locate the sentinel near the electrical box. In this stage, kill all the turrets for a completion bonus (more experience).

Crack open the e-box and open the next door. Check the corridors for more sentinels and clearn out enemies. Open the shutters by using claw combos to destroy the center medallion on each shutter.

Grab some more experience by going through the giant corridor. The giants are only hard without damage upgrades. Ramp things down if needed -- only with maximum upgrades will you be able to beat enemies on Elite.

    Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3

    Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6

    Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9

  • Fight through the enemies and sweep up the sentinel in the corner of the room (past the giants in the hall). Open the locked door in the square shaped room by breaking the five computer panels in the room.

Check the corridor and the next room with the balcony for sentinels. The giants are less of a threat when attacking with other enemies. Kill the gun users first, run around to regenerate and then combat the giant.

In the next area, go past the cargo elevator. Activate the cargo lift in the next area's control

  • panel, then detour back to the cargo lift and mantle up.

There is a blob card next to the electrical box in the next area. THere're more sentinels to be found near the second set of shutters.

Get through the next area to reach the generators. There are enough enemies here to give you plenty of experience to build up your life regeneration and defences. At the generators, carefully walk/run past the pre-set sparks to avoid dying. There is a sentinel past the generator room.

  • In the halls to large room, check the place for sentinels as well as the next large room. There are two sentinels on each end (U-shaped room).

Make sure to avoid the rockets fired from the turrets. If you need to regenerate, stand on top of the turret and you'll avoid being hit so Logan can regenerate. Lunge in the turret corridor to get out. If there is no enemy, there is a pipe for Logan to attach to.

In the next section, Logan will get some new clothes. Grab the shower sentinel and then the one in the bunk room.

  • In the maintenance tunnel, grab the sentinel on the left side and fight through the enemy swaggle. When Logan exits, use the lunge to get to the facility's exit.

    Chapter 3: Escape from Stryker

Grab the sentinels at the base of the support tower and make sure to de-power the tower before you lunge upwards. If you do not de-power the tower (by breaking the circuit box), Logan will fry while latching onto the trusses.

Grab the sentinel at the top of the dam and kick the forklift to the end of the dam's walkway and mantle upwards. Again, be sure to destroy the turrets. If not for experience, you can reduce the amount of environmental threat to Logan.

    Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3

    Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6

    Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9

  • At the top of the dam, beat the crap out of the giant. The armored giant can be taken out by repeated attacks to the legs. The lifebar of the giant can be whittled out by pouncing to the giant's helmet and ripping it off. Use the pylons to get the electric field to crack the circuit breaker.

Climb to the top of the twin towers and trigger the chopper. Use the lunge to go down the towers. Grab the sentinel at the first landing, then do it again to get to the ground.

At the snow field, use feral sense to see the yellow spots of thin ice (death). Use the same

  • view to locate the loose ice pack you can ride to the next section.

At the end of the raft ride, check the area for the sentinel. Follow the wall on the right to the side path with the sentinel.

Watch for tripmines on the snow field. Dodge or just hop over them. Note that the explosions will not seem to hurt on Normal or Easy, but on Elite, you will likely be killed (or nearly so). Get into the sewer tunnel by breaking the grate and heading inside.

  • On the other side of the sewer, go left for the blob card and the sentinel.

Kill the giants in the tunnel and then the guards at the convoy. If the enemies on the trucks are killed, there is a lunge point in the middle of the convoy.

Kill enemies at the convoy (and lunge from one truck to the other to escape the flood). Enemies need to be killed to advance. Be quick and at the end of the convoy ride (the last truck) lunge to the tower to escape.

    Chapter 4: Breakaway Camp

This chapter can get annoying with the instant death and rocket soldiers. On Elite difficulty, this mission will be as bad as mission 7. You will learn to attack some enemies, but more importantly, you will have to avoid some later.

At the top of the facility, there is a sentinel. Clean out the enemies before moving on. At the end of each wave, go through the unlocked door.

At the tower, search for another sentinel before wrecking the three anchor cables. Slice the three anchors to topple the tower. Once that's done, go to the next section. Escape the ice floes by hopping across the ice floes before the rockets blast them.

    Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3

    Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6

    Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9

  • At the second permanent rest stop, check for the sentinel. Move to the next area, and try to knock out the enemies out one by one. Regenerate by retreating if needed.

In the cave, head right and nab the sentinel. Go up through the tunnel by lunging and jumping. Go back and kill the enemies if you bypassed any. Every little bit counts.

At the top, battle giant and turrets. Wreck the turrets, then wreck the giant after you grab all three sentinels. Finish off the giants and you'll head into the next mission.

    Chapter 5: Hudson's Farm

There are five different sentinels on the farm (this whole stage). Walk around and find them before finishing all the enemies or things get more dangerous.

Don't forget you can visit the upgrade menu any time. When you get enough points, just visit the screen and improve Logan, or you'll be fighting a losing battle. If you think the shotguns are destructive, watch out for the soldiers with the EMP cannons.

    Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3

    Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6

    Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9

  • Move to the perimeter to see the blob card. It's easier to find it once the giant soldiers are placed by pod. Once the pods are down, move left and get the blob card. Once the enemies are gone, use feral sense to find Nord and kill his ass. Should not be hard.

    Chapter 6: Angola

Even though this stage is in Logan's past, all the powers you've unlocked will be available here. There are many more enemies here, so use it to your advantage by reaping the points in.

There are two main obstacles in this stage. The yellow bamboo (more like thin trees - bamboo doesn't fair well in Africa) and rocks in the quicksand. Jump onto the yellow rocks (feral) to avoid sinking. The sinking rocks can be used but you will need to be quick.

Explore the village and grab the sentinels. Check the spot where two guys are taking a whizz. You will come back to this village, so you might want to check out the layout before leaving.

    Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3

    Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6

    Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9

  • Soon after the village and trails, there will be a place where the path is seeded by traps and tripwires. Logan will always set off the first one (button QTE). Avoid the next few tripwires by using the dodge to go back after breaking the tripwire.

After the second tripwire, cut through the trees and grab the sentinel. Should you get hit by the traps, you will more or less wind up looking like the illustration on the right.

At the spot where there are two soldiers, two sand pits, and a tripwire, go and trip the trap and dodge back. Lunge the enemy over the pit to get around it. Go past the long drawbridge

  • (you will not come back this way) and go to the next section.

Follow the trail and get a blob card at the gate. Sentinels are hidden in the tree-blocked path. Take time to weed through the enemies. By now, you should have had enough experience points to maximize the damage skill or at least the two defences. The rest of your stats (not the moves) should be mid-way levelled through.

Check for the sentinel at the broken bridgehead. At the falling bridge, pounce the enemy or try to lunge at another spot elsewhere to move on.

  • At the start to next area, grab the sentinel at the precipice and keep moving to the adamantium mine. In the mine, kick the mine cart to the siding, switch the track and kick the cart to smash the barricade.

After the second barricade, you will find the loose elevator car. Jump to the lower part of the screen (mid-way through shaft) to grab the sentinel. To land on the elevator car, use the elevator cable to gauge your jump.

From the elevator car, go through the mines. There's a sentinel in one of the deadends. Operate the console and lunge onto the track -- be sure to drop off for the sentinel (at the dead end). Ride the track to the end of the track to the crystal. Kill everyone and go up the elevator.

  • From the mine entrance, hop the broken bridge and retrace your steps back to the defensive wall. Kick the box to the gate and use the box to hop over the fence.

Hop the fence and operate the trolley. When the trolley comes down, you will want to wipe clear the enemies to get the experience. Ride the trolley to their airstrip.

Upong arriving at the airstrip, you get tasked to go back to the village for the beacon. There is a timer (about 2 minutes) after grabbing the beacon for you to return to the airstrip. There is only one path back, and a sentinel in a copse of small trees. Get back to the airstrip before

  • time runs out and the mission ends.

    Chapter 7: The Blob

This entire boss battle is mission 7. This boss is extremely tough or tedious. On Elite, you will have a tough time -- should you screw up one dodge or QTE escape, Logan will die (even with maximum upgrades).

The Blob is vulnerable only if he misses an attack. Use dodge to avoid the boss and counterattack when you have the chance. Even rage attacks will not damage the Blob unless he's stunned or winded. However, use rage attacks to drain the boss quickly of life.

Use the dodge to avoid the Blob's off-the-screen butt bounce attack. The problem with the Blob is that he will be able to penetrate Logan's block and stun him. Logan, if hit, will be knocked down and will not be able to recover in time to hit the Blob afterwards.

Whether in the ring (or out of it - the ring breaks after a few butt bounces) the fight is the same. The best way to wear down The Blob is to attack him after the spinning / turnstile punches.

Once the boss' life bar is emptied, the only way to take out the Blob is to use the weak attack on the Blob after he tires out from a spinning punch attack. Follow the button QTE to take out the Blob. Should you fail, you will be severely injured and will have to wear down the boss again to get to the QTE again.

    Chapter 8: New Orleans

From the start, follow the left wall to the sentinel. Get to the wine making cellar. Kill all the enemies and lunge to the bucket to break the restraints. To move the bucket to the furnace, use the control panel in the large room.

Once the pot is moved to the furnace, beat off the enemies who appear. Use the right panel to heat up the pot. After the solution is boiled, use the left panel to move the bucket back to

    Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3

    Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6

    Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9

  • Kick the bucket to open the gate. Fight the fire henchman by getting close then blocking his attacks (to regenerate). Attack the fire henchman with your claws when you can manage. This lets you move to the conveyor belt (check for a sentinel). Kill everyone, go up the elevator to the bar.

Fight through the bar, kill the electric henchman using the same tactic as against the fire henchman (get close, block to regenerate, and counter attack). At the elevator shaft, go from the ground floor to the first floor and wait (after the elevator is shown to be damaged). Continue the lunge ascent after the elevator crashes past Logan.

  • Get the sentinel at the top of the elevator. After jumping to the next rooftop but before lunging to the next roof, grab another sentinel. You should be loaded with some experience by now. Be sure max out your attack and defence. Work to increasing your life bar and life regeneration at this point.

Fight Gambit by killing his soldiers. For Elite, stay at the door where this thugs come out from. This keeps Logan safe from the explosive cards Gambit throws (this fight only). After enough soldiers are killed, Gambit will drop down to fight.

While Gambit can evade, simply keep up with the weak going-to strong hits (the strong hit will hopefully connect to damage Le Beau). Past the first fight with Gambit, there will be a sentinel and a blob card.

Chase Gambit once more and use the fallen tower to lunge to the next area. After dropping into the new area, destroy the sentinel.

  • Against the two tough henchmen, simply pick one and kill him. Once one henchman is slain, you can get close and block against the other while regenerating. On Elite, you will want to do the Weapon X rage attack to quickly kill one or other and simply use attrition and healing to overwhelm the second henchman. Naturally, all your stats should be max if you're playing this stage again on Elite.

At the overhead caro section, simply flick the feral view to quickly grab all the sentinels. The first two are easy to find, but the third one is in a container whence the camera angle will change back into the normal, flatter pitch (because it's inside a cargo container).

  • The final sentinel is at the last Gambit fight. You will need to dodge his trick card (it floats side to side instead of straight down) by dodging at the last moment. Three will kill Logan on Elite. For the rest of Gambit's tricks, simply hide behind the obstacles.

Use your most devastating attack, keeping in mind that he will always dodge all attacks after landing your first one. The Weapon X final rage attack is best if you can land it. Do the button QTE when prompted and you will defeat Gambit and make him talk.

Chapter 9: Finale + how to rip off Deadpool's face

Begin by defeating Sabretooth (Creed) using the same method from stage 1. Incredibly, he fights the same as he did, but tends to pounce on Logan more (evade to avoid damage). There is no insta-death this time, so simply hose his lifebar and finish him off with an easy QTE.

Hop onto the catwalk and down to the roof. Kick the box on the next roof to the middle and use it to mantle to the next roof.

Head to the next roof and be suspicious about the paths leading down and off the camera's edge (bottom of your screen). Flick the feral view to see if a sentinel is around. The experience from defeating Creed just now is a lot more than if you had beat him before.

    Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3

    Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6

    Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9

  • Grab another sentinel before descending on the large elevator into the lab. As you descend, ignore the first pair of turrets and lunge up to keep the lift moving. Defeat the invisible enemies and turrets at the second stop to work the electrical box. At the third stop, open the door to the lab. Don't miss the sentinel (left from the elevator) before entering the Weapon X lab.

Get out of the lab, turn right for a sentinel. Afterwards, head back into the elevator and continue downwards. When there is gas at the first stop, pull out the block and use it to reach / attack the vent shutter. Work the circuit boxes on the subsequent stop, then lunge at the third stop to get a gentle landing.

  • In the cooling rod room, fry the circuit boxes, lift the round armor panels and use the computers to lower the green rods into the pits. There are many enemies here, so it would be advantageous to clean them out for the experience. The will be the last enemies you face in the game. The final boss is coming up shortly.

Once both rods are inserted, lunge to the empty claws and one of them will take Logan to the control room (there is a blob card in the control room). Use the computer in the control room to leave.

  • If Deadpool had a gun before, he doesn't now. Simply attack him as required; should he jump to the catwalk above, lunge there to continue the assault. The Weapon X final attack is the most effective against him, as it will kill him on Elite difficulty with one or two hits.

You will need to do five buttons of QTE (all random) to defeat Deadpool. The first four presses will not kill Logan, but failing the final button QTE will force you to fight the boss from the beginning. After the first four QTEs, lunge to the fan and get ready to press the final button. If you do that correctly, you beat the game.
