Wednesday, October 7: Activating the Nation
Hosted by the Shriver Center's Professionals' Council, this event will
bring together artists and advocates to discuss the role that visual and
performing arts have to play in the fight for racial justice. Featuring actor
and activist Kendrick Sampson and raptivist, spoken word artist,
storyteller, and movement strategist Bella BAHHS.
Thursday, October 8: Disrupting the System
Learn about the historical context of racial injustice and the imperative to
dismantle structural racism in systems, laws and policies at the state and
federal level. Featuring award-winning investigative reporter Nikole
Hannah-Jones, historian and author Ibram X. Kendi, and Shriver Center
President & CEO Audra Wilson.
Friday, October 9: Empowering Young Voices
This family-friendly event will encourage parents and caregivers to talk
with children about racial and economic justice and invite kids of all ages
to share a fun dance class. Featuring licensed psychologist Dr. Faith
Sproul and executive producer and choreographer of "Disney Fam Jam"
Phil Wright.
