My name is Xavier and I’m 12 years old.I am a student of the first course in the secondary school

called Serrallarga .I live with my family in Blanes, a small village in the coast of

Catalonia.

Spain is in the Iberían peninsula in the southwestern Europe. It borders: * To the north by France * To the west by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean. * To the east by the Mediterranian Sea. * To the south by Gibraltar .

Catalonia is in the north-east of Spain.

Catalonia is divided in four provinces: Girona, Barcelona, Tarragona i Lleida.

The capital is Barcelona.

LENGUAGE • The language of Catalonia

is Catalan.

MONUMENTS• Some of the most

important monuments and sites in Catalonia are:

- Montserrat,- la Sagrada Família,- Santa Maria del Mar,- Sant Pere de Rodes…

FOOD • We use to eat three times

a day: Breakfast at eight o’ clock , lunch at two o’clock and dinner at nine o’clock.

• We have some traditional meals as bread spread with tomato or “cargols a la llauna”(snails).

If you come to Blanes, you can visit the Botanic Garden, the castle of St.Joan and you can go up the Palomera, a very big rock in the bay of Blanes.
