COLLECTING RF DATA USING XCAL
This document illustrates setup procedure required for RF CDMA data collection using XCAL drive test tool.
ACRONYMS AND DEFINITIONS
Acronyms
1×RTT – Single carrier (“1×) Radio Transmission Technology (for Voice test).
EVDO – Evolution Data Optimized (for Data test).
ISSHO – Intersystem Soft Hand Off (for Voice test).
BSC – Base Station Controller
FER – Frame Erasure Rate
QPST – Qualcomm Product Support Tool
ASIC – Application-Specific Integrated Circuit
Definitions
Long Calls – Calls that last for an extended period of time in order to measure dropped calls and to improve the maintenance of these calls.
Short Calls – Calls that last from 15 seconds to approximately two minutes. Short calls test the accessibility of the site.
Markov Calls – Instrumentation calls of known data sets used to collect frame error statistics. They are conducted between a mobile station and a BSC for FER testing.
FER – It takes into account the number of data frames in error over a defined block of frames.
QPST – It is a set of windows tools designed to interface with, control, and test CDMA phones that contain QUALCOMM ASICs.
