• Let’s build a balanced schedule for your child’s studies, practice, travel, and games.• We can help your child find the right college to continue developing athletically — and a path to get there.• Your child will get individual support where they need it and learn in a community with other students who have similar goals and interests.

The DME Sports Jr. Netters Volleyball program is for beginner

players who want to learn the basic skills needed to be a great

volleyball player and better enjoy the game! Our master coaches

teach the fundamental skills that leads to advancing into our DME

recreational league.

Jr. Netters(AGES 5-11) DME Sports volleyball club director Dawn Moses is proud to

announce our own in-house recreational volleyball league. “We have

discovered that there is demand for a program that provides great

training for a great price but also works for players and parents not

quite ready for a full club commitment,” says Director Moses.

Building on Jr. Netters, our rec league program includes two

practices per week as well as two mini-tournament experiences!

Youth Rec League(AGES 8-15)

The Mini-Club Season is geared towards young athletes who are

looking to develop their fundamental volleyball skills, while being

able to compete in 2-4 local tournaments. All of our mini club teams

will participate in the United League which has a championship

tournament in mid-October. Mini-club teams play other Florida

volleyball clubs so that they can experience tournament like

competition. The goal is to put players on the path to play at more

competitive levels when Spring season arrives, as well as develop

their skills to assist them in making their school teams.

Fall Ball Mini Club(AGES 8-16)

DME Sports Spring Club volleyball, from December – May, is a

program that offers opportunities for girls to compete against other

programs in their own age divisions. Our teams are coached and

mentored by some of the top junior coaches in the Central Florida

area that strive to provide advanced technical training. Our athletes

age 14 and over will be encouraged to pursue higher education by

providing them exposure to college programs and assistance in the

recruiting process.

Spring Club(AGES 12-18)

As an elite sports brand focused on developing the individual at every level, DME Sports Academy combines elite athletics with our reinvention of the education process. We create personalized learning and training plans that are designed to meet, and exceed, the needs of each student athlete in conjunction with where they are in their maturation process academically and athletically.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

An athlete’s training routine must be a comprehensive program. In most competitive sports, a player should have speed, strength, agility, quickness,

explosive power, endurance, and the mental capacity to process what happens in a practice or game situation. Enhancing all of these qualities in a

proper and effective manner must be done over an extended period of time within an intense training regimen and must be planned out carefully.

For a trainer to execute such a program, they should have the knowledge and field experience required to incorporate the drills that are necessary

to enhance each of those qualities individually, as well as creating an athlete who can deliver the total package.

The Youth Performance Program is an introductory program for athletes ages 6 – 12 that are serious about excelling in sports. The training is especially dedicated to younger athletes to help develop coordination, key motor skills and to help them understand the importance of training mechanics.

YouthPerformance The High School Level

Package is offered to those in high school or those getting ready to head to high school. This program was designed by Coach Tom Shaw to build on your running technique, speed, quickness, agility, reaction, as well as develop explosiveness and strength. During the training program, the athletes will have plenty of time to work on any changes recommended.

High SchoolPerformance

The Post Grad Level Package is offered to those attending college or enrolling into college. This program was designed by Coach Tom Shaw so each athlete will build on their running technique, speed, quickness, agility, reaction, as well as develop explosiveness and strength performance and training techniques. During the training program, the athletes will have plenty of time to work on any changes recommended.

TRADITIONAL SCHOOL MODEL OUR ACADEMY’S XCEED EDUCATIONAL MODEL

One-size-fits-all schedule and classes

Many students compete for a fraction of one teacher’s attention during limited class time

Hundreds of students in each grade level

All students take 45- or 75-minute block classes on the same bell-and-lunch schedule

Communication between teachers and parents is very limited and often non-existent

Thousands of students share a very limited number of school and college counselor resources

Lessons are taught generically for the “typical” student on a bell curve average

Fixed school day hours and school year breaks

Athletes and performing arts students are under more pressure or need to work harder to make up time spent practicing or traveling for competition

Schedule and classes are based on individual student needs

Students always have access to teachers who know them personally and clearly understand their learning needs and goals

Students study courses as long as they need and switch to other courses when they are ready, including AP & Honors courses

Parents have personal, frequent, open, and direct commu-nication with the teachers and Head of School

Every high school student receives monthly one-on-one college counseling from the very first meeting with Xceed until graduation

Parents and students create a daily, weekly, and yearly study schedule that meets their priorities

Athletics, and all kinds of extracurricular priorities outside of school fit seamlessly into the structure for studying that students and parents choose and agree on with their teachers

We keep the traditional grade-level structure, but our class sizes are small by design with no more than a 5:1 student to teacher ratio. A tight-knit learning community is integral to our students success.

Every student creates a personalized learning plan with the Head of School that is tailored to their learning needs and future goals — and is refined with their teachers as they make progress

DERRICK CARTAGENA

Success Story

In September 2017, straight on the heels of Hurricane Irma, Hurricane Maria further devasted the island nation of Puerto Rico. Amidst great tragedy, a mother made the very difficult decision to send her son to Daytona Beach to live with family. When Derrick arrived as a high school sophomore, he didn’t speak a word of English but had a true passion for the game of basketball. That is how he found DME Sports Academy.

As a commuter student, Derrick worked diligently on his English language skills and soon added other courses to his personalized learning plan. Outside the classroom, he took his raw yet very athletic basketball skills to the court and became a favorite of his teammates and coaches for his love of the game.

As his junior year began last August, Derrick became a full time Academy student athlete. As of now, his English skills have blossomed, and he is proud to be studying chemistry in English. On the court, his game is steadily improving, and he is hopes to earn a college scholarship.

In his own words, Derrick said that “I love the school, the social atmosphere, the workload, the interaction with the teachers and the students, and the flexibility to also focus on basketball.”
