Before You Start•Disconnectnegativebatteryterminal.Consultaqualifiedtechnicianforinstructions.•Avoidinstallingtheunitwhereitwouldbesubjecttohightemperatures,suchasfromdirectsunlight,orwhereitwouldbesubjecttodust,dirtorexcessivevibration.

Getting Started•Removetrimringfromunit,•Remove2transitscrewslocatedontopoftheunit.•Insertthesuppliedkeysintotheslotsasshown,andslidetheunitoutofthemountingsleeve.•Installmountingsleeveintoopening,bendingtabstosecure.•Connectwiringharnessand antenna.Consultaqualified technicianifyouareunsure.•Certainvehiclesmayrequireaninstallationkitand/orwiring harnessadapter(soldseparately).•Testforcorrectoperationandslideintomountingsleevetosecure.•Snaptrimringintoplace.

Insert3.5mmplugtoconnectyourportableaudiodevice.

ThesteeringwheelinterfaceinputlocatedonthebackoftheheadunitallowsconnectiontothePAC (Pacific Accessory Corporation) SWI-PSinterfacemodule(soldseparately).Visitwww.pac-audio.comfordetails.

Toconfiguresteeringwheelcontrols,followtheinstructionsprovidedwiththePAC SWI-PSinterfacemodule.Afterinstallingtheinterfacemodule,insertthemodule's3.5mmjackintotheportonthebackoftheheadunit.

Adjustvolumeusingvolumeknob(00-46).

Press   tosilencetheaudio.“MUTE”willflashinthedisplay.Press againtocancel.

Press to RESETtheunituponinitialinstallationorifabnormaloperationoccurs.Theresetbuttonislocatedbehindthefaceplate.

Press DISPtoselectbetweenclockanddifferenttypesofinformation,suchasradiofrequency,CDtrackorMP3/USBsonginformation.

Withtheuniton,pressandholdDISPuntiltheclockbeginstoflash,thenrelease.PressTUNE nntoadjustthehoursandTUNE lltoadjusttheminutes.PressDISP momentarilytosavetheselectedtime.

Tosetthesourcevolumelevel,pressAUDIO/MENU until SOURCELEVELappears.Afteronesecond,thecurrentmodewillappearonthedisplay.Turnthevolume knob to adjusttheaudiolevelofthecurrentsource(-6minimum/+6maximum).

Press TUNE nn or TUNE llformorethanonesecondtoseekthenextstrongstation.

WhenanHDRadiostationisselected,anHDRadiologowillbegintoflashonthedisplay.Inaboutfiveseconds,HDorHD1willilluminateaftertheradiofrequency.

•If"HD"appears,theradiostationisbroadcastingahigher qualitysound.Noadditionalstationsareavailable.

•If"HD1"appears,additionalmulticastchannels(HD2 and/orHD3)areavailable.PressTUNE ll to tune to otheravailablemulticastchannels.

Press TUNE nn or TUNE ll momentarilytomoveradiofrequencyupordownonestepatatime.Pressandholdtoadvancequickly.

Press SCANmomentarilytopreviewstrongstationsonthecurrentband,pausingforfivesecondsateach.PressSCAN againtocancel.

Press BANDtoselectbetweenFM1,FM2,FM3,AM1andAM2bands.Uptosixpresetscanbeprogrammedforeachband.

Upto18FMstationsand12AMstationscanbestored.includingHDRadiostationsandmulticastchannels.Tostoreastation,selectthedesiredbandandstation.Pressandholdthedesiredpresetbutton(1-6)formorethantwoseconds.Whenstored,thepresetnumberwillappearinthedisplay.Thestationcanberecalledbypressingthecorrespondingpresetbutton.

•  Storing and Recalling Station Presets HDRadiomulticaststations(HD2andHD3)canalso bestoredaspresets.Whenapresetmulticaststation isrecalled,"LINKING"appearsinthedisplayuntilthe downloadprocessiscomplete(approximately5seconds).

  Note:IftheHDRadiosignalonthepresetisunavailable, theunitrevertstothepreviousanalogordigitalstation.

•Automatically Store Only HD Radio Stations WhileinHDSEEKmode,pressandholdAUDIO/MENU to enterthesetupmenu.ChoosetheAUTOSTOREmenu optionandpressSELECTtobeginautomaticallystoring thefirst6HDRadiostationstopresets1-6.

TheiTunesTaggingfeatureoftheXHD6430allowstheuserto"Tag"songsthatareplayingonHDRadio™stationsandenablesthemtobepurchasedlaterthroughiTunes®.Withthetouchofabuttontheunitwillrememberthetitleandartistsonginformation,andthentransferthatinformationtoyouriPoddevicethenexttimeyouconnectittotheXHD6430.Anewlistcalled"Tagged"willappeariniTunes,givingyoutheoptiontopurchaseeachsong.

Tune to an HD Radio station.TheHDlogointhedisplaymustremainsolid-indicatingthatadigitalstationistuned.Ifthesonghasvalidartistandsongtitleinformation,theTAGbuttonwillturnred.

Press the TAG button.TAGGINGSONGwillappear,followedbySONGTAGGED,confirmingthesonginformationhasbeensavedtointernalmemory.ThesonginformationwillbesavedinmemoryuntilaniPoddeviceispluggedin.Upto64Tagscanbesavedbeforetheymustbetransferredordeleted.

Plug in an iPod device.AlltheTagscurrentlyinmemorywillbeautomaticallytransferred,deletingtheTagsfromtheheadunit'smemory.Seepage23forconnectiondetails.

IfaniPoddeviceispluggedinwhenasongistagged,theTagwillbeimmediatelytransferredtotheiPoddevice(seepage12forcompatibilitywithiPoddevices).

AftertheTagtransfertotheiPoddeviceiscomplete,theXHD6430willdisplaythenumberoftagsthatweresuccessfullytransferred.

Sync with iTunes.Alistnamed"Tagged"willappearontheleftintheiTunessoftware.Clickonthe"Tagged"listtoviewallthesongsthathavebeentaggedandclickthe"view"buttonforpurchaseinformation.

Note: SomeiPoddevicesmayrequireyoutoselect'transferpurchases'inthecontextmenufromthenameofyouriPoddevicetotransferTagstoiTunes.

Managing TagsToviewthecurrentnumberofsavedTagsinmemory,pressandholdTAGfor3seconds.ThecurrentnumberofsavedTagswillappearalongwiththetotal(64).

Navigating Note

Press SELECTtoenterthefolder/filesearchmode.TheheadunitwillreadtheCD,andalistoffoldersandfilesfromtheCDwillbedisplayed.Thesearchwillalwaysbeginfromthecurrentdirectory.

Whensearchingthecontentsofafolderorsubfolder,pressESCtonavigateuponefolderlevel.

Turnthevolume knobtocyclethroughthelistoffoldersandfiles.

Folderswillbedisplayedfirst,followedbyanyfiles.
