About Project

The project of winter test proving ground YakutiaChallenge is realized by Innovative industrial park "Three Valleys" under Yakut State University. There will be two proving grounds in Yakutia (Eastern Siberia, Russia). Yakutia is situated on a unique climate zone. It has the lowest temperatures on the planet in winter period from October to April.

The first testing area is 50 km to the south from Yakutsk (in the village of Oktyomtsy), capital city of Yakutia. Yakutsk has a modern infrastructure, comfortable living conditions and the necessary logistics. The lowest temperature in Yakutsk was fixed at -64C or -83.2F. The proving ground is started this year. First products test is started in winter 2008-2009.

The second testing area is situated in Oymyakon, 800 km to the east from Yakutsk. This place is known as the coldest place on Earth excluding the Antarctic. The lowest temperature here was fixed at -71.2C or -96.2F. Oymyakon is the Northern Pole of Cold.

Our sevices

We have two testing areas. The first one is in the village of Oktyomtsy, 50 km south of Yakutsk. The second is in Oymyakon, 800 km east of Yakutsk).

The first testing area Oktyomtsy is 50 km to the south from Yakutsk (in the village of Oktyomtsy), capital city of Yakutia. Yakutsk has a modern infrastructure, comfortable living conditions and the necessary logistics. The lowest temperature in Yakutsk was fixed at -64C or -83.2F.

The size of the area is 2 hectares. There is a building on the territory of the area, which has an independent engineering system. The size of the building is 1200 sq.m.

During the tests our clients can stay in Yakutsk at a 3-4 star hotels with reasonable prices. It takes 30 min. to get to the testing area in Oktyomtsy.

Our sevices

In Oktyomtsy manufacturers can test their products:

on the territory of the testing area;

on the highway Yakutsk - Pokrovsk (small town near Yakutsk). The testing area is 1 km away from the highway;

on the Lena river ice road. It is 0.8 km to the river from the testing area. The ice is 2-2,2 m. thick in winter;

in the snow field, 10x2 km. It is usually 3-4 m. depth of snow.

in the hills 150 m high. They are 1 km away from the testing area.

Our services

The second testing area is situated in Oymyakon, 800 km to the east from Yakutsk. This place is known as the coldest place on Earth excluding the Antarctic. The lowest temperature here was fixed at -71.2C or -96.2F. Oymyakon is the Northern Pole of Cold.

The lowest temperature here was fixed at -71.2C or -96.2F.

Now together with municipal administration we are choosing territory for testing area. Manufacturers would be able to test their products:

on the territory of the testing area; on the roads of Oymyakon and on Yakutsk-

Oymyakon highway; in the snow field. It is usually 4-5 m. of snowfall in this

area. During the tests our clients can stay in Oymyakon at a

hotel. It takes 20 min to get to the testing area.
