AWARDS FOR 2016 After reviewing the 2016 general and post-graduate applications, the Scholarship Committee awarded nine-teen scholarships this spring, from endowed funds, to students who ranked the highest in their scholastic merit, writing skills and most importantly having, either: a) a family relationship to Yankton College alumni, for-mer faculty or staff; or b) a family friend, teacher, pastor or other person with a connection to Yankton College to

recommend the applicant. Each recipient will receive up to $1,000 in financial aid from designated named-scholarships to be used during the coming 2016-17 academic year.

NEW SCHOLARSHIP - IN MEMORY OF TEDDY This 2016 Y-Club scholarship is granted by the Yankton College Hawaiian family in memory of their friend and YC classmate Teddy Adolpho Mina. Teddy was raised in Honolulu and the embodiment of the Aloha spirit. He won a spot on the YC basketball cheerleading squad to “put life into it” and landed on the team. He also lettered in tennis. Mina was destined for a life of service which moved him to study Theology at Yankton College.

The Yankton College Alumni & Educational Center will be housed in the Mead Cultural Center in Yankton, South Dakota. A preliminary agreement has been reached with the Yankton County Historical Society whereby Yankton College will “occupy” approximately 3,200 sq. ft. of space for exhibits, research, archives and collections. Easily accessible by an elevator, with a private en-trance, Yankton College will have a space all of its own before 2024.
