In the year 2006 Maharaja became involved withcommunity development in Cambodia and isspearheading the rural community called “YasodapuraEco Village”.
H.H. has developed rural projects in Asian countriessuch as India, Indonesia and Cambodia. He travelsextensively and holds seminars promoting thevarnasrama mission.
He has authored several books such a “MakeVrindavana Villages”, “Varnasrama Education”. and“Village Live”.

MOTHER EARTH
YASODAPURA ECO VILLAGEplaces special emphasis on theneed to preserve a healthy eco-balance and will pursue policiesaimed at preserving our naturalforests, maintaining our naturalwater resources by avoidingchemical pesticides and chemicalfertilizers which bring harm to theearth and by avoiding the use ofmachines that destroy the land.
TRAINING & EDUCATION
YASODAPURA ECO VILLAGE willintroduce the ancient system ofGurukula for the younger boys andVarnasrama College for the olderboys covering both formal andnon-formal education. The schoolwill have a library for both studentsand all villagers.
There will also be special educationand training for the girls.
NURSERY, FOREST & SEED BANK
YASODAPURA ECO VILLAGEwill train and encourage thevillagers to keep their naturalseeds and to start a nursery.We will help preserve a cleanenvironment and help torestore natural forests whichwill be useful for fuel, shelterand water preservation.
SMALL SCALE INDUSTRY
YASODAPURA ECO VILLAGEwill encourage the residents toweave their own cloth by usingthe traditional handloom. Otheractivities such as pottery,masonry, construction andsimilar artisan will also besupported so that the villagerscan learn to be self-sufficient andlocalized to meet all theirnecessities.
SPIRITUAL PRACTICESYASODAPURA ECO VILLAGE willintroduce the art of MantraMeditation, Yoga and generalspiritual practices which willaccommodate and respect bothBuddhist & Vedic teachings. Theresidents will have their own placeof prayer and worship.
VILLAGE TECHNOLOGIES
YASODAPURA ECO VILLAGE willencourage traditional villagetechnologies such as natural waterlifting devices, jaggery makingunits, oil ghani, stone grinding ofwheat flour, de-husking of rice,making of flat rice and others willbe taught to the villagers.
Construction of natural homes using cob technology will be encouraged.
HEALTH CARE
YASODAPURA ECO VILLAGEwill give information aboutnatural medicines and naturalherbs. Wherever possible, a smallNature Cure Unit will beestablished.
YASODAPURA ECO VILLAGE is meant to serve as a prototype eco-village where natural principles of self-sufficiency & sustainabilitybased on holistic farming and cow protection are practiced withthe aim to bring a healthy and happy life for the children andyouths of Cambodia.
The program addresses the immediate needs of food, shelter,health, employment and education, environment, protection ofwomen and children as well as spiritual emancipation.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
PHASE I YEAR 2007We had acquired 5,5 hectares of land in the District of Angkor Thom, 40 KMfrom Angkor Wat.
PHASE II YEAR 2010The land has been cleared from bush and we began to make the lay-out for theproposed community. Basic infrastructures like cottage, well, boundary fencewere constructed, then we began producing our own crops, putting the nurseryfruits trees on the ground & introduced learning and teaching skills to the local
villagers.
PHASE III Year 2011We established our little Temple, and invited one local family to stay. The devotees from Indonesia spent few days a week regularly at the farm. And at the end of the year we got our first crop of rice. We also harvested lot of beans, vegetables, cassava and sweet potatos.
PHASE IV Year 2012We invited another family to stay so they could expand the field. Brahmacaries then started the second season of growing and stayed on the land longer. We started our Food for Life program, and held noon kirtan. We gave a summer course to a few children and interacted with the cows.
PHASE V Year 2013 to 2015We built up our Vaisnava traditional school cum temple. We dug two ponds and arranged for better water irrigations system. We continued to cultivate the land with the help of local families and we continued our Food for Life program in the village.

PHASE VII Year 2016We acquired more land and expanded from the original 27 acres to 108 acres.
PHASE VIII YEAR 2017Our plan is to gradually develop the following:
Paddy Land (20 acres) Planting rice during rainy season
Dry Land (90 acres) Making boundary wallMaking inner road inside land
With the help of local villagers, we plan teach about cow care, learn to make natural cow products, natural farming, traditional education, nursery, small scale industry, spiritual practices and health care.
