truth sha.ll Ye shall know the truth, and th make you free VOL. II KANSAS CITY, MO., THURSDAY, MARCH 9, 1911 No. 44 God Will Provide Extracts from, Mr. Fillmore’s Sunday morning tallc in Unity Audito- rium, March 5, 1911. As we loojs out into the natural world we see abundant provision in every way. Na- ture is prodigal in providing every neces- sity for carrying on her work. Jesus Christ referred to this, and especially called the attention of his disciples and followers to the provision the great All-encompassing Mind had made in that department of cre- ation. He told them that God had made an even more abundant provision for man, because he was of greater value. If there is lack in m a n ’s world it must be that the requirements of the Law have not been fully met. Jesus saw the necessity of this observance when he said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” The Great Law of Mind is at the foun- dation and it operates through thoughts and words. We have the symbolical key to this in the six days’ creation described in Genesis. Man’s mind goes through all of these various steps in bringing forth an idea. In every proposition that passes through his mind from perception to mani- festation there are six definite, positive movements, corresponding to the six days’ creation; then follows the day of rest, in which the mind, having completed its work, sees it in process of fulfillment. We should analyze these steps and consciously apply them in our demonstrations. If you wish to bring forth the manifestation of God’s abundant supply you must take the first step and say, “Let there be light”— that is, “Let there be understanding.” There must be a clear perception and un- derstanding of the Principle lying back of the proposition that God will provide. * The One Substance, the Source ot all, must be discerned, and all dependence upon ma- terial things eliminated from thought. Money does not bring peace and satis- faction. Failure is caused by worshiping mammon, and men worship mammon be- cause they have not discerned the “light.” They have not entered into the understand- ing that God, the Omnipresent, Omnipo- tent, Omniscient One, is the Source of all, and that man may draw from it without limit. If you see that, you have begun your problem right and are ready to go on to the next step, which is the establishment of the “firmament”—that is, a firm place in mind. This is done through constant affirmation. If you affirm steadily the truth about God as your resource, in due season your words will become Substance to you. The third step is the forming of this substance. “Let the dry land appear.” Out of the Omnipresent Substance you form whatever you want. The forming power of the mind is the imagination. If you need food, see yourself bountifully supplied with food. “The bountiful eye shall be blessed.” Picture in mind the things you desire, and if you have taken

God Will Provide

E xtra c ts from, M r. F illm ore’s Sunday m orning tallc in U nity A ud ito

rium , M arch 5, 1911.

As we loojs out into the n a tu ra l w orld we see abundant provision in every way. N atu re is p rod igal in p roviding every necessity fo r ca rry in g on her work. Jesus C hrist re fe rre d to th is, and especially called the a tten tion of his disciples and followers to the provision the g rea t A ll-encom passing M ind had made in th a t departm en t of creation. H e to ld them th a t God had made an even m ore abundan t provision fo r m an, because he was of g rea ter value.

I f the re is lack in m an’s w orld it m ust be th a t the requirem ents o f the Law have not been fu lly met. Jesu s saw the necessity of th is observance when he said, “ Seek ye first the kingdom of God an d his righteousness, and a ll these th ings shall be added unto you.”

T he G re a t Law of M ind is a t th e foundation and it operates th rough thoughts and words. W e have the sym bolical key to th is in the six days’ creation described in G enesis. M an’s m ind goes th rough a ll of these various steps in b ring ing fo rth an idea. In every proposition th a t passes th rough his m ind from percep tion to m anifesta tion th e re a re six definite, positive movements, corresponding to the six days’ c reation ; then follows th e day o f rest, in w hich the m ind, having com pleted its work, sees it in process of fulfillm ent. W e

should analyze these steps and consciously ap p ly them in our dem onstrations. I f you wish to b rin g fo rth the m anifestation of G od’s abundan t supp ly you m ust take the first step and say , “L e t th e re be ligh t”— th a t is, “L e t the re be understanding .” T here m ust be a clear percep tion and understand ing of the P rin c ip le ly ing back of the proposition th a t G od w ill provide. * T h e One Substance, the Source ot all, must be d iscerned, and a ll dependence upon mate ria l th ings elim inated from thought.

M oney does not b rin g peace and satisfaction. F a ilu re is caused by w orshiping mammon, and men w orship mammon because they have not d iscerned the “ligh t.” T hey have not entered into the understanding th a t God, the O m nipresent, Omnipoten t, O m niscient O ne, is the Source of all, and th a t m an m ay draw from it w ithout lim it. I f you see th a t, you have begun your problem rig h t and are ready to go on to th e nex t step , which is the establishm ent o f the “ firm am ent”— th a t is, a firm place in m ind. T his is done th rough constant affirmation. I f you affirm steadily the tru th about G od as your resource, in due season your w ords will become Substance to you. T he th ird step is the form ing of th is substance. “ L et the d ry land appear.” O ut of the O m nipresent Substance you form w hatever you w ant. T he form ing pow er of the m ind is the im agination. I f you need food, see yourself bountifu lly supp lied w ith food. “ T he bountifu l eye shall be b lessed.” P ic tu re in m ind the th ings you desire , and if you have taken

the other steps you w ill b rin g them into your world. I f you w ork according to the law as revealed in these steps you fulfill the law , you have found the kingdom , and w hat you desire shall come to you.

A fter you have form ed your ideal send forth your W ord. This is th e action of the will represen ted by the sun. Say, “L et the law of the S p irit come to p ass.” B ut be sure to send out your w ord in the U n iversal consciousness. I f you send it out in personal selfishness you have not complied w ith the pe rfec t Law . You m ay get results, but as the whole law has not been kep t they will not be perm anent or sa tisfactory.

Sometimes we settle down and are sa tisfied w ith little dem onstrations. Rem em ber there is always more to follow, and if you have dem onstrated in sm all th ings you should go on to la rg e r ones. E n la rg e your domain, increase your pow er by using the Law.

The fifth step is to recognize order and its relation to increase. W hen Jesus C hrist fed the m ultitude he made them sit down in companies. T hen he looked up to heaven and blessed the supp ly and passed it out in abundant increase. E very dem onstration m ust be based on tlie recognition th a t every good and perfec t g ift comes down from the F a th e r of lights. P ray . L et your p ray e r be one of affirmation. I t

•is the p ray e r of faith . “P ra y believing th a t ye have received, and ye shall receive.” Keep on p ray in g , and make your affirmations un til they become ;a habit of m ind. T he race thought m ust be so

charged w ith the tru th th a t God is Om nip resen t abundan t supply , th a t fam ine and lack w ill d isappear from the face of the earth . T he more we believe in the simplic ity of the Law the b e tte r w ill be our individual dem onstrations, and the more pow erful our w ord in help ing to transfo rm the race belief of poverty and lack. Those who make these sp iritua l dem onstrations of supp ly are not the wise of the w orld, but m ere ch ildren on the g rea t bosom of In finite Love.

W e are constantly urged to see now in m anifestation th a t which we need. I t is not to be p u t off to a fu tu re tim e, b u t we m ay have it now. God is O m nipresent. I f doubts come in, do not en terta in them. Say, “ I tru s t Om nipotence. I absolutely refuse to be anxious about to-m orrow or the next minute. I know Gt)d does provide. I know I am the fulfillm ent of the D ivine Id ea .” This D ivine Idea is the Son, the P erfec t M an, b rought fo rth on the sixth day. I f you would have your inheritance you m ust not leave out th is six th-day rea lization. God w orks th rough m an, and as he brought fo rth the Idea of P e rfe c t M an, so m ust you m anifest it.

To give up anxiety does not m ean th a t we are to sit down and do no th ing ; but we are to w ork as God w orks— to w ork w ith him as Sons. “F o r w hat th ings soever he (th e F a th e r) doeth, these also doeth the Son likew ise.” H ere in the first o f Genesis we see how the F a th e r works. T he various steps of the creative process are clearly pointed out, and we shall have results if we follow them.

P eople sometimes say, “ I wish you would not ta lk about using the D ivine L aw to bring prosperity . J t d istu rbs my sp iritua l equanim ity.” T hey have two w orlds, and live in one six days in the week, and in the o ther, one day. In the six days m an runs th in g s ; in the seventh, God is given a ten ta tive chance. Is th a t the w ay to dem onstra te th a t God is the fullness of all th ings ? D o all th ings to the glory of God every day in the week. T ake God into all your finances. Those who dem onstrate through

the law of m an have no th ing perm anent. In a moment all the ir possessions may be sw ept away. T heir thought is not rich w ith the bounty of God and they can build no enduring consciousness of supply .

These six degrees of mind action m ay be taken in an instan t. T im e is not a factor. T he m ind often autom atically goes th rough these six steps w ithout our consciousness of them . W e are suddenly moved to hold to certa in tru th s or do things we have not been in the habit of doing, and resu lts follow. A certain law yer was d iscouraged a t his lack of success and had about decided to give up his p ractice. H e was passing a store and saw in the window the m otto, “God W ill P rovide.” H e w ent in and asked the price. T he dealer said, “ One do lla r.” “ B u t,” rep lied our friend , “ I have but seventy-five cents.” “ W ell, take it along,” said the man. H e w ent home and his w ife asked him if he had brought any b read— the ch ildren w ere hun gry . H e said, “ No, I have here a m otto; le t’s hang it up in the k itchen and we shall have abundance.” T he very nex t day he was reta ined in a case and received a fee of one thousand dollars. T his is a true story , and illu stra tes how quickly the law sometimes works.

T he sub ject of P ro sp erity , which M r. F illm ore took up last S unday m orning, was continued in the evening m eeting by M r. Je ffe ry in a ta lk which brought out m any p rac tica l points. M r. Je ffe ry has announced th a t he' w ill speak nex t Sunday evening upon the D ivine B rea th , and the reference he has m ade to th is B rea th in previous talks leads us to expect som ething very in te resting and instructive.
