To Be Successful in Year 3

Meet the Romans!

This terms topic begins with the Romans. Year 3 have been exploring the story ‘Escape from Pompeii’ and the

Roman myth ‘Romulus and Remus’. We have done some lovely drama activities to help us

understand the story, starting with Escape from Pompeii.

The Romans! During our History lessons, we have explored Roman roads. We demonstrated how they are made with 5 different layers

and created a model using biscuits!

Archaeologist Visit!

We had a special Roman themed day where a real archaeologist visited school to tell us all about the research about the Roman empire. It was so much fun and we learnt

lots.

Exploring the Library Year 3 went into our Junior Library to explore all of the amazing books we have, as well as learning

how to find and return books correctly.

We explored the story, ‘The Dot’. From this story, we learnt that mistakes can often develop into something brilliant. Therefore, we made some

brilliant artwork from our mistakes.
