Good morning Year 3 students,
Welcome to the second half of Week 1. Below you will find everythingthat you will need to know to access your work for the next two days.
Hopefully you were able to speak to your teachers on Tuesday overZoom. If not, don't worry, we have another Zoom session planned forlater today (10:30-11:00am).
Don't forget to continue working on the project to create your own machine on the last page of theTuesday-Wednesday booklet.
Make sure you keep all your work together to bring in to your teachers when we go back to school!

Also, check your NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge studentrecord to see how many more books you need to read tofinish! Don’t forget to add any books you have read over the
holidays. You have until Friday 20 August, so not long to go! If you have already finished, you cancontinue reading for ‘leisure and pleasure’!

The ones digit is more than the hundreds digit and is anodd number.
The thousands digit is one more then 0
The ones digit is 14 − 7.
The tens digit is the same as the ones digit.

Create a poster page about the number 424 or the number 8062.
Write the number
Write in words the number you chose.
Write your number in expanded form (eg 600 +40 +5)
Write the number before and after your number

Science - Living Things
In Science this semester we will bestudying living things.
To begin our unit, you are going toobserve the living things in your owngarden or a garden/park near you.
You will notice that the living things canbe grouped as animals or plants. In thisSTEM activity you are going to focus onthe animals living in the garden.
Your task is to design and make an animal feeder for one of the animals in your garden.
All the instructions, guidelines and ideas are detailed in your booklet.
You will need to take some photos and email them to your teacher.

Independent Reading
Quietly read a book of your choice for 20 minutes.
Writing - Follow up from yesterday’s Zoom
Yesterday as part of the Zoom lesson, you created a checklist of all the elements of a high quality
procedural text.
Using the template in your booklet, create a procedure for something you already know how to
do. For Example - washing your hands, making a milkshake, making a sandwich, making a pizza or
any procedure you know how to complete.
NAIDOC Poster - Heal Country
On a blank piece of paper, create a poster for NAIDOC
week to show what Heal Country means. This poster
will be placed in a competition across the school and
will be judged by Mr Katrak when we return to school.

Write out your 4 x, 3 x and 5 x tables as quickly as possible.
If the answer is 56, make up 10 interesting questions for this answer.
Maths Investigation
Design and make a Number board game. Include questions about adding, subtracting, multiplying
and dividing numbers. You might like to have question cards or questions written directly on
certain squares. Think about an appealing theme like ‘At the Zoo’, ‘Under the Sea’ or ‘At the Footy’
Include answers or an answer key.
Play your game with a family member when it is completed.
Technology
Write code to help Wombot move, turn and find delicious carrots to eat!
Wombot is hungry and wants a carrot! With simple
code, help Wombot through mazes, and learn to
draw lines and shapes with code. In this challenge
you'll learn the fundamentals of programming by
using instructions to position Wombot on the screen.
You'll help Wombot move and turn, and along the
way learn to draw lines, patterns and shapes in the
same way computers draw images on the screen.
