Baptism of the Lord: January 12 That, through our generous giving, we may show our gratitude to
God for the great gift of sending His beloved Son to save us. “And a voice came from the heavens, saying, “This is my
beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”” (Matthew 3:17) Two thoughts come to mind when reading this. First, God, Our
Father, is so generous, that he gave his only son, whom he really loves to us so that we can have eternal life with him in heaven.
God, Our Creator really loves us, too! Second, Jesus was obedient to his Father’s will, even to the point of death. This is a reminder
that our own lives are pure gifts from God and meant to serve God and others.

Gabriel Project Baby Shower On the weekend of January 11 and 12 the Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a Baby Shower for the benefit of the St. Francis De Sales Gabriel Project as well as hosting “Hospitality Sunday” in the Family Life Center after the 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. and noon Masses.
How can you help? The Gabriel Project is in need of the following items:
Diapers (Sizes newborn to size 4) Especially in need all sizes of diapers

Infant car seats

Pack and Plays with bassinette (if possible)

The Knights of Columbus will be selling Party Trays for Super Bowl Sunday, Feb 2, 2020. Party Trays include a Half-Brisket, a Rack-of-Ribs, and a Sausage, and sell for $65. Items can also be bought individually, for the following prices:
But all items must be ordered and paid for in advance. The Knights of Columbus will be taking orders on the Piazza after all Masses on the weekends of January 18/19 and January 25/26. ATTENTION MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS! Grades 6th-8th
The 2020 Archdiocesan Junior High Youth Rally will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10:30 am until 9:00 pm at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houston. This year’s theme is Finding Jesus, Finding Truth based on John 18:38, Pilate said to Him “What is truth.” Knowing Jesus is knowing the truth, but how can we make sure we find it in our daily lives. We will break open our theme through keynotes, service experiences, workshops and challenging community building, along with prayer experiences and the celebration of the Mass. Registration for the 2020 Rally will be $40. Registration deadline is January 30, 2020. The registration cost covers the program, festivities, two meals, T-shirt, and Saturday Entertainment. PRO-LIFE ACTIVITIES
January 22 marks the anniversary of the infamous Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion in our nation. There will be a number of events, novenas, and rallies taking place this month to show our support and commitment to all human life.
The USCCB will host its annual 9 Days for Life novena from January 21-29. This novena can be found at www.respectlifeprogram.org/january
Additionally January 22 is the annual Day of Legal Protec-tion for Unborn Children. The US Bishops have called for prayer and fasting on this day.
The National March for Life will be held in Washington, DC, on Friday, January 24, 2020. More information can be found on the March for Life website.
Texas Rally for Life will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 in Austin, TX. The Archdiocese will be taking buses to de-part from St. Dominic Center the morning of the event. March and Rally for Life begins at 1 pm. Cost $25/person (lunch not provided)
