Have you been? We have been many times as a
family, it is like our second home! The video should show you some examples of steam locomotives on the tracks not too far away in a place called 'Wansford'. This railway runs all the way to Peterborough for about 7 miles.

'The Mallard', why will this be your 1st choice?On 3 July 1938, the A4 class locomotive Mallard raced down Stoke Bank at 126mph to set a new steam locomotive world speed record. That record still stands today.

Lastly, 'The Evening Star', why should it be first?
It was the last
steam locomotive
to be built by the
British Railways.
It is also at kept at the National Railway Museum in York.
It is a fantastic museum to visit!

How will you present your work? You can decide. • A fact file, which includes suitable headings and detailed information.
• An eye catching poster, with pictures and diagrams.
• A narrative poem, that includes facts and information.
• An information text. It will need to include the features such as a title and subheadings, labelled diagrams, paragraphs and technical vocabulary.
You can use Microsoft Office or any other media to produce your work or simply complete in your books!
Either way, please send us your finished work. We can then see what locomotive was the favourite in Year 3. Good luck!
