Founded in 1940 by Louie Schottler, Ratigan-Schottler has become a leading national supplier of solid oak pews, chairs and chancel furniture. Located in the beautiful rol l ing hil ls of southeast Nebraska, along the banks of the Blue River, just four miles from the Homestead National Monument, the site of the first homestead claim fi led in 1862 by Daniel Freeman. Rich in tradition and heritage, this area has produced some of the finest craftsman in the country. Today the craftsmen of Ratigan-Schottler produce solid oak furniture of unsurpassed quality. Only the finest northern hardwoods are used in the production of our furniture. While many of our competitors are producing their furniture using thin oak veneers over particle board or plywood, Ratigan-Schottler believes the best value is obtained by using superior materials, combined with outstanding craftsmanship, to produce products of superior and strength and beauty that wil l provide trouble free service for generations to come.
We offer the largest selection of solid oak pews, chairs, chancel furniture, pew cushions, aluminum and oak kneelers and architectural mil lwork. At Ratigan-Schottler, we make each product unique according to the atmosphere of the church we’re creating it for. Many of our baptismal fonts, for example, are made of hand-blown glass or hand-spun bronze. Northern-grown solid red oak is our standard wood of choice for church furnishings. However, other wood options are available at your request. Whether it’s oak or mahogany, we hand-inspect al l the wood to ensure that it’s of the highest quality possible.
