December 2016 News Letter

YFC Club This year has been an amazing year in

which scores of young people have

found Jesus to be the Truth, the Life and

the Way. The program is run with an

Impact / Insight meeting alternating.

Impact means we use something to

draw the kids in and then we share the

truth with them. This is followed by an

Insight meeting the next week where

the kids are helped in their spiritual

growth. The picture to the right at the

bottom left, was taken at a recent Impact meeting with East London’s biggest Pizza. 120 Kids could not

finish eating it. The good news is that many of these kids left with Jesus in their hearts.

Every Monday evening, we run a Bible

study to help these kids in their spiritual

growth. It’s so good to see the changes

in them. Praise the Lord! Thanks to

Cambridge Community Church and

Cambridge West Methodist Church for

their support!

Ministry in the schools:

We’re so glad to report that scores of young people have received Christ into their lives as a result of the opportunities given to us in the schools. Dumasani Peters, Nolubabalo Nkanjeni & Mark Raphael have all been a God

send asset to the team. They have all found favour within the education department and make a huge contribution to impact kid’s lives for Jesus. Some of the ministry opportunities and programs we have been running in the schools are: School Assemblies, Life Coaching, Schools Leadership, Matric Exam Preparation, Life Skills, & Mentorship. We have received several letters from students, one of which I am posting below from one of Marks students to encourage you.

I had the

privelege

of

attending

this years YFC “Generation 21 Now”

Africa Conference at the YFC training

Centre in Magalieberg. I was

overwhelmed at what God is doing

through YFC on our continent. Over

100 staff from the countries in the

Southern tip of Africa were in

attendance at this conference.

Meeting people who are gems used by

God, whom He has set aside to do an

extraordinary work among the youth

of our continent was so encouraging

and uplifting. The theme through the

conference was “Growing a disciplship culture”. The pictures show some of the Africa Leadership team.

Great to connect with an old YFC friend, David Kadalie, Top Right! Such wondeful people!

Leadership Camp Our Leadership Camp designed to help Churches

grow their Youth Groups was an amazing success.

44 Leaders from churches in and around East

London and Mdantsane gathered at Santa Paloma

Game Farm for an extraordinary time of input led by

Dumza, Owen & myself.

It was a weekend of intense training and role

playing. After demonstrating how to effectively run

a program using modern technology, the leaders

were divided into teams and each had to produce a

30 minute program. When they started doing their

thing, I wished that the audience was filled with Kids

who needed to hear the Gospel. Their programs

were that powerful. Some testimonies shared were

extraordinary and deeply challenging. We hope that we can influence more churches in the New Year

with the formula God has given us through YFC. Every Church was given manuals developed by YFC to

help boost their Youth Groups and program.

Ministry opportunities opening all over!

Opportunities to spread the Good News in the Port

Elizabeth area with Desrae Naude is the result of

much prayer and commitment from Desrae. God is

using her to impact younger lives. Other

opportunities are opening up for her as well. Pray

for Desrae.

Two schools in King Williams Town and another

two in Grahamstown are asking for YFC to develop

a program in those schools. Dumza is looking to

finding workers in these areas. Pray with us!

Easter Camp 2017 The Theme for Easter Camp 2017 is; “Know Him & make Him known” Marc Morrell from Gonubie Baptist Church and a past missionary to Turkey, is the camp speaker. It’s so wonderful to see God pulling leaders together from all denominations and cultures. We’re looking for sponsors who will step in and make

camp more affordable for the young people in the townships. If your company would like to be involved, talk to Roy about how you can get a tax break for supporting this amazing work.

2016 has been a truly exciting and eventful year. The Kingdom of God is richer with the many who have responded to the good news by accepting Christ into their lives.

We minister to an audience who cannot support the ministry financially as they are not yet earning money. This is where people like you make it possible for us to share the good news with these special people, impacting them and for many, changing their precious lives forever. (Such a great investment)! We still have freedom to share truth but this may not always be the case. You can be a part of this ministry by simply giving to YFC instead of the tax man.
