Y-MVP Planning for Scale
September 2, 2014
What is the Y-MVP
Teen Fitness Challenge?
Y-MVP is an innovative eight-week training
program that uses game-like activities to help
teens (middle school and high school) become
and stay physically active.
The program includes an app to track workout
progress, and a digital badge system that
moves teens along a clear path to achieving
goals and increasing levels of Moderate to
Vigorous Physical activity.
What is the Y-MVP
Teen Fitness Challenge?
Teens earn achievement badges by participating in a 90-
minute in class “quest” with a coach once a week for
eight weeks, and completing weekly 60-minute
“missions” in between classes during teen fitness hours.
Teens can level up to a free Y-MVP teen membership by
earning a minimum of 50% of the 8 achievement badges.
The Y-MVP app is accessed via iPad kiosks in the
branch. Teens log into the app using a username and a
password. The Y-MVP coach will help teens create their
accounts.
