DRAWING THE FROG Before beginning, think about the position you’d like your frog to
be in. Turn your paper accordingly.
Start by drawing a curved line, like a candy cane, near the top of
the paper in the center. Add a curved smile and two circles for
eyes. Close off the body with a curved line and a straight line for
the belly. Add long, thin arms and three zig zags for hands. The
hands can be straight or bent. Add legs. The legs are similar to
the hands, but should be longer. The arms and legs are what
helps to give your frog the feeling of MOVEMENT, so be
creative!
You can finish off your drawing by creating a background. Is your frog
on a lily pad in a pond? In a yoga studio? In its living room? The
choice is yours!
OPTIONAL COLORING TECHNIQUE Using different versions of colors can help add some VARIETY to
your artwork. Choose several different VALUES of the same color,
like a light green, a medium green and a dark green. Using
different values will help your artwork look more interesting. And
remember: not all frogs are green!
Color in your background. Try to include a few different values
in your background colors.
