WHAT’S ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2015 T he second KIA Road Show (test drive event) of 2015 was declared a “great success” by National Agencies Group, a subsidiary of Abdulaziz Al Mutawa Group of companies & the Authorized Distributor for KIA Motors in Kuwait, where visitors test drove their favorite KIA model, won valuable prizes and enjoyed exciting family fun at Marina Crescent on Friday, November 27, 2015. Live music, engaging activities and friendly staff created the special atmosphere that KIA Roadshows have become famous for. “The KIA Roadshow is an extraordinary oppor- tunity to interact with the public and showcase our award-winning models in an exciting way,” explained KIA Kuwait Brand Manager, Omar Gabr. “Friday’s event was nothing short of a great success in this respect. I would like to thank the visitors, National Agencies Group Team and Marina Mall Management for making it so.” Gabr added that NAG received a great deal of sales inquiries at the event reflecting the heavy demand for KIA models year-round. A total of nine KIA models were on display and available for on-location test drives, including the Grand Carnival family minivan, Mohave large SUV (V6 & V8 variants), Sorento midsize SUV, Sportage small crossover SUV, Cadenza large sedan, Carens multipurpose utility vehicle (MPV), SOUL crossover sedan, and Riohatchback compact sedan. As a part of continuous efforts in its professional jour- ney, ASSE Kuwait Chapter organized the 8th International HSSE & Loss Prevention Professional Development Conference (PDC) and Exhibition on 9th - 10th December 2015 at Radisson Blu Hotel, under the patronage of Minister of oil, State of Kuwait. The two day conference with the Theme “Sharing Experience to Enhance the HSSE Culture” was inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Talal Al Sabah, Acting Undersecretary, Minister of oil, State of Kuwait. The inaugural session was attended by Mohammad Husain, President & CEO, EQUATE, Mohammad Ghazi Al Mutairi CEO, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Ismail Abdullah Deputy CEO, Support Services Kuwait Oil Company and several other dignitaries from oil sector companies and other distinguished guests attended the function. Major General Yousef Al Ansari Director, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate Michael Belcher, President ASSE USA, Fadhel Al Ali, Chairman ASSE Kuwait, Ashok Garlapati Global Region, Vice President ASSE USA, also participated in the inaugural ceremony. G Sampath Reddy, President of the ASSE Kuwait Chapter in his welcome address highlighted the activities of the Chapter and welcomed everyone to this prestigious event. Engr Fadhel Ali, Chairman ASSE Kuwait Chapter in his opening address stated the importance of the confer- ence. Vasudevan, Director of the ASSE Kuwait Chapter’s 8thInternational HSSE & Loss Prevention Professional Development Conference (PDC) and Exhibition, briefed the highlights of the conference, which was organized by the volunteer efforts of the Chapters members. After the inaugural ceremony an executive panel discus- sion was held with the participation of Mohammad Husain President& CEO, EQUATE, Mohammad Ghazi Al Mutairi CEO, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Ismail Abdullah Deputy CEO, Support Services Kuwait Oil Company and Michael Belcher, President ASSE USA. Fadhel Al Ali, Chairman ASSE Kuwait, Vasudevan, Director Professional Development Conference (PDC) also participated in the discussions with question and answers. Bala Siva Srikanth Deputy Director of the Professional Development Conference (PDC) moderated the discussion. At the end of Executive Panel discussion, Riaz Mohammed Shareef, past president of ASSE Kuwait Chapter and Advisory Committee member was awarded as the chapter safety professional of the Year- 2015. During the two day conference, symposiums on Process Safety Management, Sustainable Energy and plenary session where 68 technical papers on topic related to the Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene, Process Safety, Personal Safety, Fire Safety, Environmental Engineering & Management, Loss Prevention, Industrial Security, Behavior Based Safety (BBS), Ergonomics etc were presented. E- poster exhibition on various topics were presented. An exposition by major industrial suppliers and service providers were organized during this two day conference which was a major event where the conference delegates had an opportunity to get accustomed to the latest safety and fire equipments in the market. The conference was sponsored by Equate, KOC, KNPC and RIMSCO as platinum sponsors. The conference was endorsed by International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), National Examination Board occupa- tional Safety& Health (NEBOSH) and supported by Board of certified Safety professionals(BCSP), Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH),Centre for chemical Process Safety (CCPS). More than 350 delegates including Managers, Team Leaders, Consultants, Specialists, Engineers, Physicians, Coordinators and Inspectors and Supervisors of various disciplines from oil sector and other companies attended the conference. AUM students who attended the confer- ence and were given free registration for their participa- tion. The closing ceremony of the conference was held on the afternoon on 10th December. Feedback from the inter- nal and external participant and dignitaries were taken during the closing ceremony.
