As a part of continuous efforts in its professional jour-ney, ASSE Kuwait Chapter organized the 8thInternational HSSE & Loss Prevention ProfessionalDevelopment Conference (PDC) and Exhibition on 9th -10th December 2015 at Radisson Blu Hotel, under thepatronage of Minister of oil, State of Kuwait. The two dayconference with the Theme “Sharing Experience toEnhance the HSSE Culture” was inaugurated by HisExcellency Sheikh Talal Al Sabah, Acting Undersecretary,Minister of oil, State of Kuwait.

The inaugural session was attended by MohammadHusain, President & CEO, EQUATE, Mohammad Ghazi AlMutairi CEO, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, IsmailAbdullah Deputy CEO, Support Services Kuwait OilCompany and several other dignitaries from oil sectorcompanies and other distinguished guests attended the

After the inaugural ceremony an executive panel discus-sion was held with the participation of Mohammad HusainPresident& CEO, EQUATE, Mohammad Ghazi Al MutairiCEO, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Ismail AbdullahDeputy CEO, Support Services Kuwait Oil Company andMichael Belcher, President ASSE USA. At the end of Executive Panel discussion, RiazMohammed Shareef, past president of ASSE KuwaitChapter and Advisory Committee member was awarded asthe chapter safety professional of the Year- 2015. Duringthe two day conference, symposiums on Process SafetyManagement, Sustainable Energy and plenary sessionwhere 68 technical papers on topic related to theOccupational Health & Industrial Hygiene, Process Safety,Personal Safety, Fire Safety, Environmental Engineering &Management, Loss Prevention, Industrial Security, BehaviorBased Safety (BBS), Ergonomics etc were presented. E-poster exhibition on various topics were presented.

An exposition by major industrial suppliers and serviceproviders were organized during this two day conferencewhich was a major event where the conference delegateshad an opportunity to get accustomed to the latest safetyand fire equipments in the market.

The conference wasendorsed by International Association of DrillingContractors (IADC), National Examination Board occupa-tional Safety& Health (NEBOSH) and supported by Board ofcertified Safety professionals(BCSP), Institute ofOccupational Safety and Health (IOSH),Centre for chemicalProcess Safety (CCPS).

More than 350 delegates including Managers, TeamLeaders, Consultants, Specialists, Engineers, Physicians,Coordinators and Inspectors and Supervisors of variousdisciplines from oil sector and other companies attendedthe conference. AUM students who attended the confer-ence and were given free registration for their participa-tion.

The closing ceremony of the conference was held onthe afternoon on 10th December. Feedback from the inter-nal and external participant and dignitaries were takenduring the closing ceremony.
