In 2013 I was driving to work on I-80 when a parolee under the influence entered the freeway, crossed all lanes and struck my vehicle. The impact rolled my car four times at freeway speeds, eventually resting on its roof. I was transported to UCD Med Center and underwent surgery to relieve bleeding in my brain and four reconstructive surgeries
to my right hand. My entire medical team said I would have been dead had I not been wearing my seatbelt.
I don’t just buckle up for me, but also for the ones who love me. I don’t just buckle up for me, but also for the ones who love me.
I’m a safe driver. But not everyone else is.
Please wear your seatbelt. I do.This poster was produced by the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, Woodland, CA . 2014
