InvolvementMichael Barker Award Hardship Fund Provides young cricketers from disadvantaged backgrounds with a small grant to ensure they can continue their training and enjoy playing cricket.
Yorkshire Cricket Young Leaders AcademyOffers Young Leaders Academies the opportunity to gain experience working behind the scenes on a match day at Headingley, asks them for 200 voluntary hours in their local cricket club and provides them with £2000 worth of training and development including coaching qualifications, first aid and safeguarding children, all which are matched to their interest.
Royal Park MUGAOffers free coaching sessions to young people in the Royal Park and Burley Park area of Leeds to encourage their involvement in the game and mainly targets Asian youths.
Pro Coach Yorkshire CricketProvides coaching courses across the county for young people and 50% of the profit goes back in to the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation to invest in grassroots cricket.
EducationPlaying for SuccessRun in the YCCC Learning Centre, the programme aims to improve attainment in Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils who are underachieving in Maths and English. The programme uses cricket as a tool to inspire and motivate the pupils.
PfS in North YorkshireYCCC have recently expanded the PfS programme, delivering into schools across North Yorkshire along with cricket coaching activities.
PfS French with Hull City FCYCCC and Hull City FC have collaborated to deliver a PfS French programme to schools in Hull along with cricket and football coaching activities; the first programme of its kind in the country!
Prince’s Trust Get Started with Yorkshire Cricket A valuable programme working with Young Offenders in HMP & YOI Doncaster Prison to provide them with qualifications and skills to get them on the right track when they are released.
Cricket in the Classroom
Offering primary school groups to enjoy a day at Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground including a cricket themed classroom session, tour of the ground and cricket coaching activities.
Social WellbeingChange 4 LifeThe Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and YCCC are proud supporters of Change 4 Life – the nation’s campaign to move more, eat well and live longer.
There will be various cricket activities at matches throughout the summer and at the events and festivals throughout the county, plus YCCC players will be taking part in cook-offs, there’ll be Men’s Health promotions at Headingley and the Smoke-free bus will be attending the Pakistan vs Australia Test Match.
