He was the third son of Val- dimar and Dyrfinna (nee Hinrick- son). Together with his two older brothers, Ronnie and Thor, Lynne helped with chores like turning the cream separator and he often ba- bysat his younger sister, Joanne. Lacking television in those days, he made his own entertainment with his brothers whether digging snow tunnels in the winter’s im- mense snow drifts, playing ball at the farmyard, or hunting grouse with his Red Rider Air Rifle. Lynne was baptised on November 23, 1941 at Thingvalla Evangelical Lu- theran Church by Pastor Christo- pherson and confirmed on July 29, 1956 at Concordia Lutheran Church by Pastor Goos. Lynne’s confirmation verse was “I am the light of the world, he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” . John 8:12. Lynne’s commitment on con- firmation day was: “Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end; Be Thou forever near me, my Master and my Friend! I shall not fear the bat- tle, if Thou are by my side, Nor wander from the pathway, If Thou will be my Guide” . Lynne attended Thingvalla and Churchbridge schools. An out- standing student despite the many hours he worked on the family farm, he excelled in all his studies, graduating from high school in 1960. Lynne seemed to have a wealth of information on nearly any subject and was al- ways a good person to go to for any sort of advice. Lynne married Chris- tine Dressler on June 5, 1963. In 1965 he and Christine took over the family farm and over the years they were blessed with three children, Ryan, Corinne and Kevin. For Lynne his faith and the church were a fun- damental part of his daily life and whether it was helping a friend or lead- ing church committees with his friend, Erwin Becker, he was known for his calm, reasonable and always humble leadership ability. Possessing an extremely broad range of interests, ranging from military history to modern physics, he was a multi-faceted man, but his soul was always deeply rooted in the land. Farming was his life and even though it was hard work, it was really a calling…he loved doing what he did and he met each season head-on and enjoyed the fact that every year offered new challenges. Lynne and Christine enjoyed a full partnership on the farm, making all decisions together. Harvest was their favourite season as he combined and she hauled the grain. Ahead of his time in the holistic ste- wardship of the land, he cared deeply about wetlands and conservation management. Lynne had a great love for animals and counted many be- loved cattle, dogs and cats among his many blessings. With his dry sense of humour he often “spoke” for the animals, creating a witty persona for them, as an example “Brezhnev” the bull may suddenly strike up a dis- cussion about international geo-politics! Steadfast and faithful to his fami- ly, he was firm but loving, a peacemaker and problem solver, always will- ing to listen and help, always known to be fair, treating everyone with equal dignity. His love and joy for his friends and family shines out from his beaming smile in the hundreds of photos taken over the years. He en- joyed hunting, trap shooting and long car voyages or Sunday “get lost’” drives with his family. If you needed something fixed, Lynne was the man to go to; together with his brothers he could repair almost anything - whether it may be tuning up an old lawnmower or overhauling the com- bine. He was an expert builder, whether helping to construct his own house, renovating the basement or helping with the Thingvalla Church, Cemetery and School restoration and monuments projects. Looking down from Heaven, Lynne would want us all to know how very much it meant to him that his loving wife, Christine patiently and lovingly looked after his every need almost to the end so he could stay as long as possible on the farm that he loved so dearly. He would also want us to acknowledge his many good neighbours, relatives and friends who supported them during his illness, particularly Eddie Wirth, with whom he shared haying and har- vesting over the years. Lynne was predeceased by his parents, Valdi and Finnie; his son-in-law, Tim Weber; special uncles, Martin and Henry; aunt, Helga; his mother and father-in-law, Lydia and Adolf Dressler and he was followed closely by his special aunt, Annie Dressler. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, Christine, his soul mate of 53 years; his sons, Ryan (Monica) and Kevin (Barbara); his daughter, Corinne We- ber and his grandchildren, Noah and Adam Johnson and Scott Weber. He will be sorely missed by his siblings, Ronnie (Elin), Thor (Barbara) and Joanne (Gerry); his sister-in-law, Marion Olson; brother-in-law, Gerald (Grace) Dressler as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and his countless friends and neighbours. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Churchbridge, SK with Pastor Jeff Dul officiating. The organist, Vallery Putland, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, “Nearer My God to Thee” , “Great is Thy Faithfulness” , “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art” . The scriptures were read by Erwin Becker and Ke- vin Johnson and the obituary was read by Ryan Johnson and Joanne Johnson. The Interment Service followed in the Thingvalla Cemetery, near Churchbridge with Allan Pollock, Ken Reykjalin, Audrey Johnson, Al- lan Johnson, Lee Sparrowhawk and Johnny Pollock serving as the casket bearers. Honorary Casket Bearers, who were present in spirit to lift up Lynne were Eddie Wirth, Gloria Wirth, Gerald Dressler, Monica Johnson, Noah Johnson and Adam Johnson. Fern Wagner and the Lutheran Wom- en Missions League of Trinity Lutheran Church lovingly organized the luncheon following the service. Those wishing to make donation in Lynne’s memory may make them to Parkinson Society Canada (www.parkinson.ca), The Lutheran Hour, Trinity Lutheran Church Memori- al Fund or a favourite charity of your choice. Friends so wishing may for- ward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneral- home.com. Anna’s family is sad to announce her passing at age 94. Anna Amalia was born to Wilhelm and Christina Rosin on the family farm near Pennock on April 17, 1922. She was born the eighth of 12 chil- dren. She grew up and attended school in the Pennock and Roth- bury districts. She was baptized and confirmed in the Rothbury Lu- theran Church. Her passions included tending her flower beds, vegetable garden and singing in the church choir. Anna had a strong faith and belief in God. She has been a long- term member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Churchbridge. Anna was kind and loving. Her greatest love by far was of her family, including Shirley (Gordon) Smith, grandchildren, Joanna (Bill Campbell) Smith, David Smith and great-grandchildren Finn and Kai Campbell. Though great- grandchildren came late in her life, she took such joy in holding and play- ing with Finn and he filled her heart in her last days. To her family Anna was a strong woman, feisty and a bit mischievous. She was also gentle and loving. As a single working mom raising a daughter she was always focused on Shirley and was immensely proud of Shirley’s accomplish- ments in life. To her grand-children, Anna was deeply dedicated, teaching the values of family, generosity, work-ethic, honesty and integrity which she valued most. Anna was predeceased by her loving husband, George Baumung; parents, Wilhelm and Christina Rosin; infant brother, Adolf; brothers, Gustav, Gottlieb, Christian (Sylvia), Reinhold (Phyllis), William (Elsie), Harold (Mabel), Henry and George; sisters, Lydia (Adolf) Dressler and Maria (Hallgrimur) Laxdal and grandson, David Smith. Left to mourn her passing is her daughter, Shirley (Gordon) Smith; granddaughter, Joanna Smith (and her husband Bill Campbell); great-grandchildren, Finn and Kai Campbell; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Rosin and Anais Rosin as well as numerous nieces and nephews There will be a memorial service scheduled at a later date due to the unexpected early and exciting arrival of Anna’s great-grandchild Kai Campbell. Anna’s final internment will be at Yorkton Memorial Gardens, Yorkton, SK. Friends so wishing may for- ward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneral- home.com. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.

JONES - Graig Allan Jones passed away unexpectedly in Yorkton, SK on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the age of 50 years. Graig was born on October 14, 1965 in Yorkton, the son of Margaret and Don Jones. He went to school in Yorkton, completing his education at the Yorkton Regional High School in 1985. Jonesy, as he was known to family and friends, had a variety of jobs through his lifetime, including 19 years as a meat cutter at Harvest Meats in Yorkton, a po- sition held until his death. He also had a passion for buying and sell- ing antiques. He loved a good auc- tion sale and was well known in East Central Saskatchewan as a junk/antique dealer. Graig was a unique soul with a colourful sense of humour. He was larger than life. Graig as an animated story teller and when the story/joke warranted it, he would act it out to get the point across - sound effects were optional! Jonesy enjoyed playing practical jokes on his friends, his

sister, Lisa and other family members. Uncle Steve and Uncle Tom were recent victims on different occasions. Graig took Uncle Steve for a ride in his new Ford truck which was equipped with Bluetooth technology. Uncle Steve panicked when the sync system read a text (which Graig had sent to himself) which said, “This truck will self-destruct in 5 minutes. Please pull over and run for your life!”. Such antics resulted in numerous nick- names! Graig was a selfless individual who went out of his way to help people. Those close to him would hear about his good deeds from others. Jonesy had friends from all walks of life and every age bracket. He touched many lives in his 50 years, never having asked for anything in re- turn. We will miss his generous spirit and kind soul. Graig became an ac- complished handyman with the guidance of Jimmy Young, Bob Miller and his minion helper, Joel Thompson. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who inherited the love of the outdoors from his father, Don. Together they spent many hours casting their lines at the Duck Mountains of Manitoba and antler rattling for white tail deer outside Yorkton. May their trips to- gether now be blessed with no limits, no restrictions and no problems. Rest in Peace, Graig. Graig was predeceased by his father, Don Jones. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Jones of Yorkton; his sister, Lisa (Kris) Janeson of Yorkton as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The Memorial Service was held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from the Chapel of Christie’s Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK with Kathy No- vak serving as the Funeral Celebrant. Special taped music selections in- cluded “Seasons in the Sun” by Terry Jacks as the processional music, “Why?” by Rascal Flatts and “When I Get Where I’m Going” by Brad Pais- ley as the recessional. A poem written by Janice Nelson in Graig’s memo- ry was read and words of tribute and eulogy were shared by friend, Sta- cey Young. The Cremation Committal followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery, Yorkton, SK with Trevor Maxwell and Jim Young serving as the urn bearers. Friends so wishing may make donations in Graig’s memory to Ducks Unlimited or the Yorkton Wildlife Federation as tokens of remembrance. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneralhome.com. Funeral arrange- ments were entrusted to Christie’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, York- ton, Saskatchewan.

SAWCHUK - Mr. Peter Sawchuk, beloved husband of Lena Saw- chuk of Churchbridge passed away at sunrise on July 4, 2016 with family by his side at Saltcoats Lakeside Manor Care Home at the age of 99 years. Peter was the youngest child of five, born to Si- dor and Mary (Kisliak) Sawchuk. He attended school and grew up in the Calder area. As a young lad he worked for many farmers. In 1935 he met the love of his life, Lena Ur- sulak. In their courting years they loved to go dancing and play ball after church. They married Octo- ber 26, 1939, at the Orthodox Church in Calder. In 1942 they were able to purchase their first home where they raised six chil- dren and lived for thirty-three years. Due to health reasons they left the family farm and moved to Churchbridge. For the next 7Ω years they worked diligently at the elementary school as janitors. While in Churchbridge, many grandchildren would look forward

to leaving school at lunch to join Baba and Gido for cottage cheese perogies. Peter enjoyed fishing, gardening (especially his potatoes) and making gallons of wine from his raspberry patch. Peter and Lena em- braced their Ukrainian heritage by having traditional family gatherings such as Christmas and Easter. Some of the special values they passed on to their family were love, forgiveness and a strong Christian faith, mir- rored in their 76 1/2 years of marriage. Peter is survived by his loving wife Lena, his children: Doreen (Rodney) Haberstock, Deanna (Orest) Tan- chyk, Margaret (Len) Mutz, Steve Sawchuk, Debbie (Ivan) Morash, Che- ryl (Myron) Trafananko, his 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and his brother John Sawchuk. He is prede- ceased by his father (Sidor) and mother (Mary), sisters Lena Flunder and Anne Bren, brother Nick Sawchuk, daughter-in-law Jeanette Sawchuk and granddaughter Jocelyn Morash. Prayers were held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 and the Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Yorkton with Very Rev. Fa- ther Mel Slashinsky officiating. The responses were led by Yvonne Pan- chuk & Parish Choir Members. The cross bearer was Rodney Flunder and the banner bearers were Gerald Gorda and Barry Sawchuk. The in- terment took place in the Garden of Crucifixion at Yorkton Memorial Gar- dens with Trevor Sawchuk, Perry Sawchuk, Shane Mutz, Travis Morash, Ken Haberstock and Mitchell Lyons serving as the casket bearers. Thank you to the caregivers at Lakeside Manor care home where Peter received compassionate and loving care as a resident for the past three years. Me- morials honouring Peter’s life may be made to the Lakeside Manor Care Home Palliative Room as gifts of remembrance. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com.

BUGOY - Donald Robert Bugoy passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home - Jowsey House with friends and family by his side. Donald was 69 years of age. Don- ald was born on June 3, 1947 to Alphonse and Nettie (nee Dobko) Bugoy. Donald grew up on the family farm east of Otthon along- side many cousins, family mem- bers and friends in the small, close knit community. Donald attended Otthon School until Grade 10. At the age of 18, Donald decided that he didn’t want to be a farmer, so he boarded a CN train to Vancou- ver. In Vancouver, he worked in a sawmill for a couple of months. He soon discovered that Vancouver was too big for him so he boarded a bus for Dawson Creek, BC. There he found work at a meat market and was employed there for four years. He then moved to Valleyview, AB where he worked in the oilfields. Donald met Barba- ra Hobbs in Valleyview and they

were united in Matrimony in 1972. In 1973, Donald and Barbara moved to Kamloops, BC where Donald began work with CN Rail. In 1978, were blessed with the birth of their son, Jason. In 1980 Donald and Barbara de- cided to part their ways. After a period of time Donald met Brigitte Schenk and they were united in Matrimony in 1983. Donald and Brigitte were blessed with the birth of their son, Daniel in 1984. Donald and his family moved to Smithers, BC where Donald worked until his retirement. In 2006, Donald and Brigitte decided to move to Yorkton to be closer to family. He enjoyed helping his brother, Walter on the farm, driving his team of horses and walking his dogs. Donald’s health began to fail in 2014 and he was diagnosed with ALS in 2015. As Donald’s health failed he grew to very much appreciate the emotional support of family, friends and various health care supports, especially his Home Care Nurse, Val Edwards. Donald cherished the love and support of his beloved wife, Bri- gitte. He will always love her. Donald is predeceased by his parents, Al- phonse and Nettie in 1991 and his sister, Helen in 1969. Donald leaves to celebrate his life his loving wife, Brigitte; his sons, Daniel, Jason (Emily) and their children, Lucas, Kingston and Dean and Marcus (Karen); his brother, Walter and by many relatives and countless friends. Donald’s family would especially like to thank friends, Dorothy McCuaig and Carol Martin who helped Brigitte maintain Donald in his home until January 2016 when he required the care of the Yorkton & District Nursing Home - Jowsey House. Very special thanks to the staff of the Nursing Home and to Charlene Molyneux with the Palliative Care Program of the Sunrise Health Region. The mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednes- day, July 6, 2016 from St. Gerard’s Roman Catholic Church with Rever- end Father Francis Hengen serving as the Celebrant with Tom Pasloski and Orest Machushek serving as the Altar Servers. The pianist, Chris Fisher along with members of the parish choir led the congregation in the responses and the singing of the hymns, The Lord Is My Shepherd, Psalm 116, The Prayer of St. Francis, Be Not Afraid, Song of The Angels, and How Great Thou Art. Donald’s son, Marcus served as the Cross bearer with his son, Jason and his brother, Walter, serving as the Bearers of the Holy Gifts. The First Reading was read by Shirley Araneda and the Second Reading was read by Bonnie Osicki. Donald’s son, Daniel served as the Urn bearer with Shirley Araneda, Bonnie Osicki, Jeanette Baziuk, Linda Carss, Emily Bugoy and Karen Bobyk serving as the Honourary Urn bearers. NAGY - Helen Doreen Nagy was welcomed into the world on June 6, 1966 in Yorkton, SK, the daugh- ter of Frank and Doreen (nee Czin- kota) Szabolcsik. She attended elementary school at Dunleath and Yorkton Composite for her junior years, finishing off her senior years in the Yorkton Regional High School. Helen further decided to continue her education with an Ac- counting, Typing and Shorthand course. Helen grew up on the farm near Saltcoats, SK. She loved to be outside, working alongside her father, helping with repairs and working the fields. After gradua- tion, she decided to explore the world by babysitting, working at Houston Pizza and Buns Master Bakery. On occasion, Helen liked to attend the Saltcoats single dances and one evening she met, Ralph Nagy, the man who would be the love of her life. Two years after they met, they were united in marriage on June 4, 1988 at St. Gerard’s Roman Catholic Church

in Yorkton, SK. The young couple made their home on Ralph’s family farm near Otthon, SK, where she spent much of her time enjoying her passions which included gardening, raising chickens, cooking, sewing, knitting and spending time with family and friends. Helen enjoyed the farm life and worked with Ralph to care for the livestock and the grain farming operation. She also found time to volunteer for many events at the Otthon Hall, including being an active member and president. Helen and Ralph were blessed with four wonderful children, Stephanie, Raelene, Ryan and Jonathan. She was very proud of the accomplishments her children achieved in their education, sports and careers. Their mother was always in stands cheering, helping at different activities and pushing them to be their best. Helen was a strong and courageous woman, as was evidenced in the heroic battle she fought against cancer. Sadly, she lost that fight on July 3, 2016 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, Yorkton, SK. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the joy of know- ing her. Helen was predeceased by her father, Frank Szabolcsik; Auntie, Elizabeth Szabolcsik; grandparents, Daniel and Jolan Szabolcsik and Joe and Margaret Czinkota; her parents-in-law, Steven and Mary Nagy as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Card of Thanks

The family of Graig “Jonesy” Jones wish to express their sin- cere appreciation to all their friends and family members for the very kind messages, phone calls, visits, food, flowers, cards, etc. Your support during this devastat- ing time in our lives and is truly helping the healing begin. We would like to also express our ap- preciation to the victim service worker Leonard and first respond- ers who were at the scene, as well as everyone who helped us walk through the funeral process. They say laughter is the best medicine, Graig hated hospitals but loved to tell/act out a joke or situation if he wanted to drive his point home. He would give you the shirt off his back and came at a call to help when he took a liking to you. Graig sent so much positive ener- gy into the universe, we ask that you all continue to honour his memory by paying it forward and continuing to spread positive ener- gy as we all continue to heal.

PLAN NUMBER 10-3-227OLD-FASHIONED

CHARMThe covered porch

that spans the front of this two-storey recre-ation home lends a touch of old-fashioned charm to this three-bedroom design.

The front door leads directly into a corridor with the great room on the right and a country kitchen on the left. The great room features a

lofty double-height ceil-ing, as well as a gas fire-place flanked by win-dows. Two more windows look out over the front porch, and French doors open to a covered patio at the back of the home.

The kitchen includes a pantry, as well as a spacious bayed-out area that will serve as a din-ing nook. Natural light will enter through the window over the double sink. The U-shaped coun-

ter configuration prom-ises efficiency.

At the back of the home is the master bed-room, which includes an en-suite with a tub and shower stall. Adjacent is a two-piece lavatory that contains a linen closet.

The U-shaped stair-way leading to the second floor is located between the master bedroom and the kitchen, and is railed for safety. The landing, spacious enough

to accommodate a com-puter or entertainment centre, is also railed and overlooks the great room below. A display ledge near the window would be ideal for plants and collectibles.

A large linen closet is located at the entrance to the three-piece bath-room shared by the sec-ond and third bedrooms. The bathroom features a separate toilet and bath.

The home’s exterior is finished in cedar shakes stained a deep crimson, with contrasting painted trim. Field-stone bases set off the painted pilas-ters that mark the front porch and the back patio.

This home measures 32 feet wide and 43 feet, six inches deep for a total of 1,659 square feet of living space.

Plans for design 10-3-227 are available for $755 (set of 5), $815 (set of 8) and $863 for a super set of 10. B.C. residents add 7% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add $35.00 for Priority courier charges within B.C. or $65.00 outside of B.C. Please add 5% G.S.T. or 13% H.S.T. (where applicable) to both the plan price and postage charges.

Our NEW 48TH Edition of the Home Plan Catalogue containing over 400 plans is avail-able for $15.50 (includes taxes, postage and han-dling). Make all cheque and money orders pay-able to “JENISH HOUSE DESIGN LTD” and mail to:

Premier Brad Wall recently announced that Alanna Koch will be the new Deputy Minister to the Premier, replacing Doug Moen who is leav-ing that position at the end of June.

Koch has served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture since 2007. Prior to that, she held various senior positions in the agriculture indus-try, including President of the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance and Executive Director of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association. Koch and her husband also farm near Edenwold, northeast of Regina.

“Alanna Koch has

shown tremendous leadership over the past eight years as Deputy Minister of Agriculture, as our agriculture industry has grown and advanced as one of the main drivers of Saskatchewan’s econ-omy,” Wall said. “She is well-respected by both the public service and by elected officials and I look forward to work-ing with her to advance our government’s growth agenda and keep Saskatchewan strong.”

Koch will be the first woman to serve as Deputy Minister to the Premier in Saskatchewan. Her appointment is effective July 1.
