YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 ~ THURSDAY ~ AUGUST 20 MILWAUKEE/ATLANTA/EN ROUTE Your adventure begins as you board your overnight flight to Johannesburg, via Atlanta, enjoying excellent in-flight service along the way. (Meals Aloft) DAY 2 ~ FRIDAY ~ AUGUST 21 JOHANNESBURG/CAPE TOWN

This afternoon land in Johannesburg and immediately connect to Cape Town, South Africa’s “Mother City” and provincial capital, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Cape Town is a sophisticated city with plenty to see and do, particularly around the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront area, where delightful buildings of the Cape Dutch and Victorian-era architecture have been restored as shops, restaurants, museums and pubs, while the busy water traffic of the docks goes on unabated. The Aquarium is within easy walking distance from your hotel, and it is well worth a visit. If interested in shopping, the area has a larger shopping plaza and numerous fine shops. Cape Town, which faces north across Table Bay, has thrived from its birth, first as a Dutch settlement in 1652 when Jan van Ribeeck established it as a supply station for ships of the Dutch East India Company, and later, under the British as a port supplying ships with food and fresh water from the perennial mountain streams.

Your hotel, The Cape Milner, is located in the trendy suburb of Tamboerskloof, and offers a sophisticated and contemporary ambience with the highest standards in style and luxury. Renowned for excellent service, a chic atmosphere and stunning interior decor, The Cape Milner was voted one of South Africa's best boutique hotels by acclaimed local magazine House and Leisure. The sweeping panorama of Table Mountain from the restaurant terrace, the hotel's alluring interior and its close proximity to the city center make the Cape Milner one of Cape Town's hottest spots. Overnight at THE CAPE MILNER. (B Aloft) www.capemilner.com DAY 3 ~ SATURDAY ~ AUGUST 22 CAPE TOWN ~ CAPE POINT/KIRSTENBOSCH BOTANICAL GARDENS Board your luxury motorcoach for a coastal drive to the Cape of Good Hope, surrounded by spectacular mountains, rugged shorelines, and the blue sea – breathtaking is the only word that comes to mind. See Devil's Peak, Lion's Head, Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles. Along the way, stop at Hout Bay from where you’ll board a ship for a short ride to Duiker Island to view the Cape fur seals, Bank Cormorants, Black-back, Kelp and Hartlaub Gulls. At Cape Point, you can climb the steps or ride a funicular to the top where you can explore a lighthouse, enjoy the views or even indulge in a bit of shopping. Take a close look at the ocean – many a times you may see southern right whales

in the spring and early summer (September – November) as well as dolphins and a variety of seabirds. At the Cape of Good Hope, the incredible scenery makes for an excellent group photo opportunity. You will also have the chance to explore the Cape Point Nature Reserve which is host to approximately half of the 2,700 species of indigenous plants contained in the Cape Peninsula. Look for the distinctive orange found in leucospermums, one of the rarest types of proteas – the mimites, marvel at the helicrysums and pelarganium calcullums, and enjoy the ericas, phenacomas and fine bush which the Dutch called “fynbos”. One can find 250 species of birds in the reserve, ranging from ostriches to minuscule sunbirds. Chacma baboon, and a wide variety of plains species may be seen, including the bontebok which is endemic to this part of the world, and the Cape Mountain zebra. The baboons feed occasionally on marine foods which they garner at low tide. At Olifants Bay, look for oystercatchers, and enjoy some superb birding.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, and continue to Boulders Beach where the African (Jackass) Penguins can be seen – also known as the Black-footed Penguins. These are flightless seabirds, found nowhere in the world except off the coast of Southern Africa and the only penguins found on this continent. Enjoy a delightful walk on a specially-built platform onto the little sheltered beach where they nest among the rocks, and "waddle" up and down into and out of the sea. Because the penguins are used to human presence, you can safely get within a few feet of them as you stand on the platform, and it is sometimes possible to view them nesting as they tend to hide themselves behind rocks and bushes.

Next visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, arguably one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. Founded in 1913, Kirstenbosch lies on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain and consists of landscaped gardens of indigenous plants and trees, watered by the Liesbeek River, as well as a natural forest that extends up to the lower slopes. Kirstenbosch covers an area of 1,383 acres, 148 of which are cultivated; the remainder is a natural flora reserve. It is a living display featuring 9,000 of the estimated 20,000 species of indigenous South African flora, and close to 50% of the peninsula’s floral wealth. In the cultivated area, related plants are grouped together and radiate from the central lawns like the spokes of a wheel. Among the interesting sections here are the Cycad Amphitheatre, which hosts most species of these “living fossils” found in southern Africa; the famed Protea Garden on the higher slopes, with its profuse growth of silver trees (Leucadendron argenteum); the JV Mathews Rock Garden (named after the first curator) containing succulents of the genera Crassula, Aloe, Lampranthus and Euphorbia; the Erica Garden and the Pelargonium Koppie. Two streams cut through Kirstenbosch, both laced with besembos, red alder and hard fern. Of historical interest is an avenue of camphor trees and fig trees planted by Cecil Rhodes in 1898, and a small section of wild almond (Brabejum stellatifolium) hedge planted by Dutch settler Jan van Riebeeck in 1660. Birds of all sorts can be seen here as well – Dusky and Paradise Flycatchers, sunbirds, Klaas's cuckoos,

bulbuls, pigeons, brilliant green and red Cape Sugarbirds (which pollinate the flowers), guinea fowls, and the Cape Batis. Return to Cape Town in the evening, where you have another chance to discover one of the numerous restaurants that Cape Town has to offer. Overnight at THE CAPE MILNER. (B, L) DAY 4 ~ SUNDAY ~ AUGUST 23 CAPE TOWN ~ TABLE MOUNTAIN/NEW REST/SPIER ESTATE After breakfast, get a feel of what Cape Town is all about by taking the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, the signature of this city, easily one of the most recognizable mountains. This tour is very dependent on the wind factor, as well as the clouds. Many a times a cloud covers this flat-topped mountain, which rises to 3,563 feet above sea level and the locals affectionately say it’s a white tablecloth. Legend has it that a retired pirate, on climbing the mountain met up with the devil. In order to preserve his soul, the pirate challenged the devil in a smoking contest. So they stoked up their pipes and have been smoking ever since. For centuries Table Mountain has been a guiding beacon to mariners rounding the Cape of Southern Africa. Sir Francis Drake described it as "the most stately thing and the fairest cape we saw in the whole circumference of the earth. For nature lovers, look for colorful birds, and wild flowers include agapanthus,

watsonias and red nerines which poke out from rock crevices amid a scrub of ericas and gnarled proteas. More than 1,400 species of flowering plants have been recorded on the mountain which makes it a spectacular sight in the spring. You may see cute guinea pig-like creatures known as rock dassies, or hyraxes, (genetically, the closest living relatives to elephants) deep within rock crevices and occasionally on the trails. You will visit the informal settlement of New Rest – a colony area of Guguletu. Your African guide, who lives in the township, will accompany you as you visit the crèche and community center. Visit the nursery which was built by the local community with bricks made at the township, and bring some gifts to the young children. See how the local community has reached out to reshape their township, with the advice and input from the tour company and the University of Cape Town. Against all odds, township life prevails and conditions improve, but the transition is slow and hard. It is bleak evidence to the injustices of the past and the enormous challenges to the peoples of the New South Africa in the coming years. En route to the wine lands and your home for the next two nights, you will stop at the Spier Estate to learn about the

Cheetah Outreach program. They perform a very important work in educating the public and the world about cheetah issues and how best to conserve this highly endangered and magnificent animal. You’ll also see the Anatolian Shepherd Dogs that were bred in Namibia at the Cheetah Conservation Fund, who are placed with sheep herds in farms in Namibia to defend them against cheetah attacks, making it unnecessary for farmers to shoot the cheetahs the way they have been doing in the past. While at Spier, you will also visit the Cape Raptor World, adjacent to the Cheetah Park. This rehabilitation and education program is an initiative started by Hank and Tracey Chalmers, experts in the field of these beautiful birds. Under their careful supervision, you can meet Wally, the Wahlberg’s Eagle; Bugsey, a Rock Kestrel; Joe Black, a Black-shouldered Kite; Hooch, the Spotted Eagle Owl; Speedle, the Lanner Falcon and Mick, the Black Eagle. Capturing the essence of five star luxury, the impeccably appointed Le Franschhoek offers unparalleled views of the spectacular Franschhoek Mountains and is the perfect setting for a taste of the legendary Cape wine route. Located on the

All rooms have spectacular views of the Gardens, Vineyards and River. Overnight at LE FRANSCHHOEK HOTEL. (B, L) www.lefranschhoek.co.za

DAY 5 ~ MONDAY ~ AUGUST 24 CAPE TOWN ~ WINE LANDS A full day excursion into the wine lands region, situated below the spectacular Boland Mountains, awaits you today. Discover the internationally acclaimed vineyards of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek on the Western Cape, along a most scenic route. A stop at the historic estate of Boschendal will introduce you to some of the most brilliantly preserved Cape Dutch buildings in the Cape and its collection of priceless period furniture. At Franschhoek, discover lovely antique shops and gardens, nestled in the "Valley of the Huguenots"

where the French first settled in 1688. You will also explore the university town of Stellenbosch, the oldest town in South Africa after Cape Town, undoubtedly the most scenic and historically-preserved town in Southern Africa. Oak-lined streets next to water furrows compliment the many fine examples of elegant Cape Dutch, Victorian and Georgian architecture – all part of this unique "Town of Oaks". All the wine estates you’ll visit in the region offer tastings and cellar tours and you’ll enjoy lunch in one of them. Overnight at LE FRANSCHHOEK HOTEL. Overnights at the IMBALI SAFARI LODGE. (All Meals Daily) www.imbali.com DAYS 9/10 ~ FRIDAY / SATURDAY ~ AUGUST 28/29 BLYDE RIVER CANYON/MODJADJI CYCAD RESERVE Set along the scenic route to Blyde River Canyon. You will have many sightseeing opportunities along the way – Three Rondawels, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window and Pinnacle viewpoint to name a few. The area is hauntingly beautiful and breathtaking in its vast scale – where the

Lowveld savannah sweeps in to meet the Highveld. It has a rich and colorful history with hunters, safari traders, Voortrekkers settlers, prospectors, raiding warrior bands, transport riders and countless characters who wandered there in search of fortune. Staggering beauty encompasses you, no matter which area of you visit – spectacular gorges, isolated buttresses, unusual geological features, rolling mountains, deep ravines, flourishing foliage and fairy-tale waterfalls. The only way to experience it is first-hand. Modjadji Nature Reserve, situated in the Bolobedu district of Lebowa, contains the largest concentration of a single cycad species in the world. These protected plant species not only grow in profusion in the area, but are giants in the genus of 29 species. Once the main diet of the prehistoric mammal-like reptiles that lived here, the Modjadji cycad (Encephalartos transvenosus) forms a unique natural forest which can be viewed in its prehistoric state thanks to its strict

protection by succeeding generations of modjadji ('rain queens'), the hereditary rulers in the area. The setting is superb. When mist does not obscure the view, the visitor gazes over the cycad forest to the lowveld and the Kruger National Park. You may also see wildlife species such as blue wildebeest, waterbuck, nyala, impala and bushbuck, and over 170 species of birds as well. The lands of the Modjadji tribe, a matriarchal society that has produced five rain queens (only women are allowed to enter the village), surround the reserve, and the traditional vernacular, architecture and culture seen on the reserve's periphery add interest to your visit. Brimming with history, the Coach House is on the site of the original staging post and hotel used by travelers in the feverish gold rush days of the late 19th century. The hotel offers world-class hospitality in luxurious comfort and scenic

tranquility in the friendly ambience of a gracious country estate. Situated in the Letaba district in Limpopo Province, the hotel nestles atop a spur looking over the verdant Letsitele valley and the dramatic splendor of the Drakensberg mountains. Overnights at THE COACH HOUSE. (B, L; B) www.coachhouse.co.za DAYS 11/12/13 ~ SUNDAY / MONDAY / TUESDAY ~ AUGUST 30/ 31, SEPTEMBER 1 MASHATU RESERVE In the remote eastern corner of Botswana, at the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe rivers, lies an area known historically as the Tuli enclave – a diverse wilderness of savannah, riverine forests, marshland, open plains and sandstone outcrops. It is here that the largest of the Rattray Reserves is situated – Mashatu Reserve. The name is derived from the magnificent Mashatu trees, which occur throughout this immense tract of privately owned land. Mashatu is also the home of no less than seven of Africa's giants: the African elephant, the lion, giraffe, the baobab tree, the eland, the ostrich, and the kori bustard. Some 366 species of birds may be seen. Mashatu Reserve proudly provides a refuge for the largest, single population of elephant on privately owned land in Africa. Known as the relic herds of Shashe, these elephants are the last living testament to the great herds that once populated the meandering Limpopo valley. Today, the population on Mashatu Reserve alone is estimated to number in excess of 500.

Here you are offered some of the most exciting wildlife viewing in Africa. It is a place of exceptional beauty where one can explore the rugged, unspoiled African landscapes either in the comfort of open 4-wheel drive vehicles, on a walking safari, on mountain bicycles, or horse back, guided by expert rangers and experienced trackers. In addition to the drives the reserve is also able to offer activities conducted by research scientists and concessionaires based here. The applicable fee assists in the funding of the scientists’ research. Join resident elephant specialist and researcher, Jeanetta Selier, on a morning drive to learn more about these amazing creatures. The drive will include a bush brunch. Learn how to identify, as well as age and sex the

different herds, which Jeanetta has come to know so well over the years. Getting right up close and personal with these fascinating pachyderms enables guests to learn more about their behavior, their complex social structure and their communication skills. Mashatu Main Lodge offers 14 authentically decorated suites. Each suite is furnished with two three-quarter beds, a day bed, expansive en suite bathroom with shower, bath, his and hers basins, and a second W.C. A private lounge area overlooks the unfenced surrounding bush and 24 hour temperature control completes the comfort of each suite. Mashatu Main Camp is elevated around a waterhole and offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities from within the camp itself. The dining area, stunning day lounge and "Gin Trap" bar provide diverse lookouts from which to enjoy and appreciate the environment. Facilities within the camp include a swimming pool, an air-conditioned lounge and dining room and a lala-palm enclosed African boma, in which sumptuous dinners are savored under the magnificent African night sky and around a blazing fire. Winding down the oak-line country lane where cows graze in green pastures, you will arrive at a haven of peace and tranquility in the hub of South Africa’s economic heartland. Nestling in the historic village of Irene, the Irene Country Lodge is centrally located between Johannesburg and Pretoria. Each faces the lake and is combined with modern day creature comforts such as 16 hour room service and satellite television. At Irene Country House, you will find yourself in an unmatched environment, surrounded by countless species of birds. Overnight IRENE COUNTRY HOUSE. (B) www.irenecountrylodge.co.za DAYS 15/16 ~ THURSDAY / FRIDAY ~ SEPTEMBER 3 / 4 LIVINGSTONE/VICTORIA FALLS, ZAMBIA

Return to Johannesburg for your flight to Livingstone, nestled close to Victoria Falls. At more than twice the size of Niagara Falls it’s no surprise that Victoria Falls are among the Seven Wonders of the World. Mosi-oa-Tunya – The Smoke that Thunders –derived from the towering column of spray when the Zambezi River runs high, is the name that Zimbabwe's local people have given to this awesome natural phenomenon. The name is probably more appropriate and descriptive than "Victoria", which has a far too calm and composed ring to it to do justice to the masses of thundering, swirling water of these spectacular falls. But all Dr. David Livingstone probably thought of when he named the falls after his Queen in 1855 was his royal duty. Five separate falls make up

this incredible spectacle that plunges more than 328 feet into a sheer-sided chasm which separates Zimbabwe from Zambia. The awe-inspiring abyss is spanned by a 1905 Edwardian bridge which links the two countries and many adventurers now use to bungee jump. The masses of water plunging down the Falls and into the gorge below originate from the mighty Zambezi River that meanders through more than 1,677 miles of African countryside.

Your visit will include a tour of the falls on the Zambian side. An afternoon sundowner cruise on a private boat will be a highlight as you glide along the Zambezi River, watching hippos snort, elephants drink on the riverbank, monkeys jump from branch to branch, birds fly overhead or pose for a photograph on the branches, and much more. Enjoy your gin and tonic, cool beer, or drink of choice, and see a panoramic sunset as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the whole area in unbelievable colors of brilliant reds, yellows, purples and mauves. You’ll also get a chance to visit an authentic native village to see how the local people live. You will be escorted by your English-speaking village guide, seeing a culture and ways of life that remains virtually unchanged through the ages. View their daily rituals, from the women cooking and mending their huts, to the artistic woodcarvings created right in front of you by the village artisans. Smiling children scatter about and you are welcome to mingle and take photographs. Long after you’ve left, this cultural visit will remain with you, as you’ll feel as though you’ve experienced a different part of Africa, quite essential if you’re to understand the complexity of this continent.

You will stay at the Royal Livingstone, a 5-Star resort hotel, located within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River. The Royal Livingstone enjoys prospects over the Zambezi River and the falls shared by no other hotel in the Victoria Falls region. The bedrooms are two-story clusters inspired by the grand estate houses of a bygone era. Each air-conditioned room has a private balcony and terrace that offers spectacular views of the great river and beyond – a quiet retreat from the ruggedness of Africa, with large shaded verandas and open spaces cooled by swirling fans and tall shutters. The traveler’s bar and lounge is a place where guests can relax under thatched shade, decorated in harmonious greens, creams and ebony. With its comfortable armchairs and low ottomans the lounge is a place to enjoy an impeccably served high tea or to linger longer over some fine port or cigar. The a la carte restaurant will serve a range of exquisite delicacies from around the world.

Overnights at the ROYAL LIVINGSTONE. (B Daily) www.suninternational.com DAYS 17 ~ SATURDAY ~ SEPTEMBER 5 CHOBE NATIONAL PARK Today enjoy a full day excursion into Chobe National Park, known as a symbol for so many of the things that are unusual, exciting and interesting in Botswana. It is the second largest park in Botswana, and the first declared national park. It can be divided into four main focal points. Chobe River front with floodplains and teak forest, Savuti Marsh in the west, the Linyanti swamps in the northwest, and the hot, dry hinterland in between. The park covers a wide variety of country; riverine forest, floodplain, periodic marsh, mopane and miombo woodland and a few rocky outcrops. Such a diversity

of habitats implies a wide variety of wildlife, which ranges from water animals such as hippo, crocodile, otter and fish, to forest and dryland species such as elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and eland. In all areas predators abound – lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena are plentiful. In the open grasslands of the pans, one can find the rare oribi and occasional reedbuck. Puku, an antelope associated with this park, can often be seen in herds around the edge of the river. The Chobe River is also well known for its magnificent bird viewing, with over 400 different species, ranging from eagles to kingfishers and from Marabou Storks to bee-eaters. Occasionally, Carmine Bee-eaters build colonies in the sand banks of the floodplains where they nest in their thousands. A major feature of Chobe National Park is its overabundance of elephant often seen at the river front bathing in the water. Vast numbers of elephant come down to drink in the late afternoons and it is possible to see as many as one thousand of these magnificent animals in a two-hour game drive. The Chobe elephant comprise part of what is probably the largest surviving continuous elephant population, covering most of northern Botswana and northwestern Zimbabwe. Botswana's elephant population is currently estimated at around 120,000, which has built up steadily from a few thousand in the early 1900s and has escaped the massive illegal offtake that has decimated other populations in the 1970s and 1980s. These elephants are migratory, making seasonal movements of up to 124 miles from the Chobe and Linyanti Rivers, where they concentrate in the dry season, to the pans in the southeast of the park, to which they disperse in the rains. The elephants in this area have the distinction of being the largest in body size of all living elephants though the ivory is brittle and you will not see many huge tuskers among these gentle giants. THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW Southern Africa Participants must be able to climb in and out of safari 4x4 vehicles or minibuses, small aircraft and boats/canoes unassisted. They should also be able to tolerate riding on uneven, bumpy dirt roads for long periods of time (6-8 hours maximum), as well as some off-road experiences when opportunities allow. Participants should also be able to stand and/or walk moderate distances at an easy pace for up to a few hours at a time when visiting villages, towns or other sites. Some, if not most, of this walking may be on uneven ground or uphill, often at higher elevations and altitudes that many people are used to. General True adventure in travel can sometimes be accompanied by unexpected changes in conditions, itineraries and occasionally your accommodations. Participants should travel with a spirit of adventure and flexibility. Remember to pack your patience and sense of humor! Be willing to look past self-imposed ideals of Western amenities and do not compare these new experiences with your life back home. Travel often includes visiting destinations with modest infrastructures and a bending definition of comfort. That being said, some locations are nestled in absolute luxury where pampering is the norm. Participants should generally be in good health and prepared to travel in locations without medical facilities. Air Schedules Choosing the best possible air arrangements for our travelers is always a challenge. We work with many airlines that offer the best level of service, routings and value for our programs. While there may indeed be more direct routings available with another airline, the cost of these flights may not be within the budget that allows us to give you the best value possible. If you prefer to purchase your own international air, please feel free to choose the "land only" rate for this program. The start and the end city for this program is Johannesburg. Upon registration, you must provide your full legal name as it appears on your passport. In the event an airline ticket is issued with incorrect information you have provided, you will be responsible for charges associated with reissuing the ticket.

BRING-A-BOOK FOUNDATION Your safari will include a visit to a local school in Zambia and at New Rest in Cape Town. We encourage you to bring colorful books and magazines, as well as schools supplies such as pens, paper, crayons, soccer balls, etc., which you can present to the children during your visit. Many of these children have never owned a book in their life and the connection you’ll make with them is invaluable. You’ll find that children in the schools are eager to meet with visitors, practice their English, learn about your culture and proudly share their own. You are often welcomed with a local song or dance. After seeing schools first hand, meeting the dedicated teachers working under the most difficult conditions and children hungry for knowledge, many travelers have wanted to help the schools they visited or continue to support a child’s learning opportunities after they return to their homes. Bring-A-Book is an innovative effort adopted by Classic Escapes to expand education opportunities for school children. The Bring-A-Book Foundation is a registered Kenyan Charitable Trust that was created as a way to facilitate travelers’ wishes to help the schools and is used to get books into the hands of children as quickly and economically as possible. With compassionate ground operators such as Rangers Safaris, Wilderness Safaris and CCAfrica, Classic Escapes has expanded the reach of BAB to Tanzania, South Africa and Zambia, and other areas in the world our travelers visit. Information will be given to you with your final documents, but if you wish to help further, feel free to call Classic Escapes at 800-627-1244 for details. CLASSIC ESCAPES CONSERVATION FUND In keeping with our mission to provide exciting, educational, and fun-filled experiences that nurture and directly support the diverse wildlife and cultures we visit around the world, Classic Escapes has established the Classic Escapes Conservation Fund to ensure that a percentage of all profits go to support conservation and wildlife researchers performing their critical work in the field. Project support has included environmental education efforts in India and Bhutan, wild dog and cheetah conservation in Botswana, Kenya and Namibia, and global Earth Day education via school internet programs. By traveling with Classic Escapes, you are supporting travel as a tool for building the mutual respect, awareness and understanding that are vital to preserving this planet for future generations.

On receipt of your signed reservation form and deposit, Classic Escapes will, subject to availability, reserve your place on your tour. When we send off your confirmation invoice, your booking is confirmed and accepted by us. Final payment is due not later than 95 days prior to departure (May 17, 2009). Final documents will be sent to you approximately two weeks prior to departure. AIR TRANSPORTATION: Roundtrip economy-class jet transportation from Milwaukee via DELTA AIR LINES. Rates based on special promotional fares requiring 10 passengers traveling together on the same itinerary and cancellation fees apply once tickets are issued. Departures from other cities in the USA are possible at additional cost. Kindly inquire at the time of reservation. Please note that airfare is estimated and can only be guaranteed when tickets are issued. DEPARTURE TAXES: Please note the amount of departure tax reflected on the Reservation Form is subject to change, at the discretion of governments and airlines, and with no advance notice. Should this occur, you will be invoiced prior to departure for any additional taxes imposed. AIRLINE SEATING: We request seats together for the group. All planes are non-smoking. We can request a seating preference on your behalf, however this is only a request and not guaranteed. Requests should be made in writing no later than 60 days prior to departure. Bulkhead and/or emergency row seats can only be requested at airport check-in on the day of departure. Boarding passes will only be issued at the airport on the day of departure. You may inquire during check-in to have a seating change made, however this change is based on availability and is at the sole discretion of airport staff. FREQUENT FLYER MILEAGE: At time of publication, Delta Air Lines is partners with Aeroflot Russian Airlines, AeroMexico, Air France, Air Jamaica, Alaska Airlines, Alitalia, Avianca, China Airlines, China Southern, Continental Airlines, Czech Airlines, EL AL Israel Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Northwest Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Atlantic Airways Therefore you can attempt to obtain frequent flyer mileage. Present your frequent flyer card for all flight BAGGAGE: International flights from the U.S. allow two pieces of checked luggage, each not exceeding 70 lbs. However we recommend you travel as light as you can manage, as it is more comfortable for you. Also, the size and the structure of the bag is limited. Soft duffel bags are ideal as they stow best in vehicles. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU OBTAIN THE OPTIONAL INSURANCE POLICY. ACCOMMODATIONS: You will marvel at the wonderful accommodations provided throughout your tour. All rooms have private facilities, and all rates are based on double occupancy. Most rooms are twin-bedded, but king-size beds are occasionally available and should be requested in advance. Accommodations listed in this itinerary are correct at time of writing, but on rare occasions can change for similar lodging. SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: Single accommodations are not guaranteed, but will be provided at additional cost if available (see reservation form for cost.) The single room supplement pays for privacy, not better accommodations. On occasion, in smaller hotels, you may be required to share with other members of your tour group if single rooms/cabins are not available upon check-in. If this is the situation, appropriate per diem refunds are made to passengers in the event they paid for a single room but had to share during any portion of their trip. For passengers who are traveling alone and wish to share a room with another tour member, we will do our best to provide a roommate. However, if this is not possible, you will be required to pay the single room supplement prior to your departure from the USA. MEALS: American breakfast daily. All other meals as specified. WILDLIFE VIEWING: Your tour will be conducted in 4X4 open vehicles throughout, driven by naturalist driver/guides. TRANSFERS: Roundtrip transfer of passengers between airport and hotels are included in the tour. A suggested tipping chart will be forwarded with the final documents. INOCULATIONS: We would suggest you contact your personal physician or local health department for their recommendations as to inoculations. At the time of printing, no vaccinations are required for entry into South Africa. However, it is also a sensible precaution for visitors to take one of the preventive pills that are in common use against malaria. (There is little or no risk for malaria when in the Panama City and colonial areas.) Water is generally not safe to drink, so you should always drink bottled water. RATES: All rates quoted are based on tariffs and value of foreign currencies in relation to the U.S. dollar in effect as of April 14, 2008, and are subject to change. Rates are based on a minimum of 12 passengers traveling together (with a maximum of 20 passengers). The right is reserved to levy a surcharge if minimum is not met, but that is rarely done. We will do our utmost to keep to the prices as published.
