Convention HighlightsGolf Practice RoundSince practice makes perfect, don’t miss the opportunity to sharpen your game with a practice round on Sunday. The traditional GBA Golf Tournament will be held Monday, but we are giving our golfers a unique experience this year: playing both courses at the celebrated Red Sky Golf Club. On Sunday, tee times have been arranged at Red Sky’s Tom Fazio-designed course beginning at 12:30 p.m. Tee times are limited, so register early, and you will be notifi ed of your tee time prior to the convention. The fee is $175 per person and you may charge it to your hotel room.
Sunday Evening “Mountainside Magic”Begin your magical time in the Rocky Mountains with friends old and new during our annual Welcome Reception. For four glorious months each year, moguls and powder are replaced by an unbelievable array of wild fl owers as the Vail hillside transforms itself into a kaleidoscope of color. Drink it all in while you relax, have a bite to eat and listen to guitar strumming in that famous John Denver style. This event will be held outside. Temperatures cool off in the evenings, so remember to bring a jacket or sweater. The attire is mountain resort casual.
Golf TournamentIn designing his 18 holes at Red Sky Golf Club, Greg Norman skillfully allowed the treasures of the natural landscape to dictate the fl ow of play. Craggy rock outcroppings, twisted knots of scrub oak, rugged gulches, and wildfl ower meadows all contribute to an unparalleled wilderness golf experience. This 7,500-yard (par 72) course enjoys the Vail Valley’s fi nest sunsets silhouetting the majesty of Castle Peak. The tournament is open to all who attend and will begin with a shotgun start on Monday at 1:30 p.m. While the course is challenging, the format will suit all handicaps. The registration fee of $200 includes a boxed lunch and beverages throughout the
tournament.
Chairman’s “Party on the Peak” FarewellWe’ll close this year’s convention in true Colorado style. Rocky Mountain High, you say? You haven’t seen high until you’ve glided to 10,200 feet on the Centennial Express Ski Chair Lift. Don’t worry, we’ll have shuttle buses to take those more “grounded” folks up the mountain. Here, at our fi nal destination, the award-winning Spruce Saddle Lodge, you’ll experience expansive and truly breathtaking views of the Gore Range and Eagle Valley underneath the clear nighttime sky. We’ll have music (just a little bit country, just a little bit rock ‘n’ roll) and lots of other local entertainment to make your last night in this wonderland most memorable. This event will be held both
indoors and outdoors, so don’t forget your jacket or sweater. Attire is mountain casual.

Your guides will fi ll you in on some of the historic, ecological, and environmental aspects Summit County enjoys. This ride covers 14 miles of pristine terrain and provides endless, perfect photo opportunities.
Mountain Jeep Tour1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. $103 per personThis is your opportunity to have a wild experience while traveling the countryside in four-wheel drive mode. Take a scenic trip exploring the backcountry of Castle Peak and summit atop an extinct volcano approximately 10,500 feet above sea level. Views of all mountain ranges are breathtaking, and abundant wildlife will amaze you throughout the day. Remember to bring your camera; you will not want to miss the incredible photo opportunities that appear around every corner.
Tuesday, June 21White Water Rafting12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. $119 per personExperience the adrenaline rush of rafting the Colorado rivers, unique in their combination of high-mountain scenery and white water excitement. This Class 3 white water trip is appropriate for people who may not have previous experience, but who are comfortable with water sports. Your professional guide will discuss rafting procedures and point out sites of interest during the excursion. This is a scenic, yet adventure-oriented experience.
Horseback Riding1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. $115 per personRide a horse across the historic Bearden Homestead and enjoy the company of your knowledgeable guide who will share the history of the land. Catch glimpses of elk in aspen groves and wildfl ower-covered meadows. A beautiful, trustworthy horse, selected to fi t your riding ability, will navigate the trail.
Who Should Attend: All GBA members, associate members, and Bank Counsel Section members are invited to attend the Annual Convention. The registration fee includes all convention programs and events, scheduled meals, educational sessions, the spouse/guest program, and the Sunday and Tuesday evening events.
Optional Tours and Activities: Optional tours and activities are available to convention participants and spouses/guests through the convention at an additional fee. Fees are reflected per person, and registrations will be accepted on a first come-first served basis. All tours and activities are exclusive to GBA conference participants and include private guide(s)/program specialist(s), all touring fees and equipment (where applicable), and appropriate round-trip transportation. Space for all tours and activities has been reserved and confirmed, based on a minimum and maximum number of participants. If the minimum is not met, the tour/activity may be subject to a fee increase or cancellation. You will be advised prior to the time of the tour should there be a change. Should the maximum number be met prior to receipt of your confirmation, you will be contacted.

Due to guarantees and other commitments, convention registration refunds cannot be given after June 1, 2005; however, substitutions are always welcome. Tour and Activity Registration Forms must be received by GBA by Monday, May 16, 2005. After this date, you may register for tours and activities onsite (based on space availability). Should you need to cancel a tour or activity, please notify Susie McGehee in writing, via fax at (404) 522-9848, or at [email protected]. Refunds cannot be given on tours or activities after May 16, 2005.
Confirmation: All registrants will receive a confirmation packet four to six weeks prior to the convention. The packet will include registration confirmation, general convention information, golf, spouse/guest program information and optional tours and activities tickets/information if applicable.

Hotel Accommodations: GBA has negotiated a discounted group rate on sleeping rooms at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. All guest rooms include mountain or valley views, twice daily housekeeping, down comforters and featherbeds, in-room safe, high-speed Internet access and computer and fax hook-ups and network data ports. GBA’s room block consists primarily of the gorgeous valley view rooms, which are available for $235 per night (single/double), plus tax. There will be an additional charge of $50 per night for each adult more than two per guest room. A maximum of two children under the age of 18 per room is complimentary.
Conference Registration Information
Hotel Cut-Off Date: Reservation requests must be received by the hotel by Thursday, May 19, 2005. Thereafter, reservations will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis. A two-night deposit (room and tax) must accompany all reservations in order to be guaranteed. Cancellations received fi ve (5) or fewer days prior to arrival will forfeit the two-night deposit.
To Reserve Accommodations: Guests should call the hotel directly at (800) 576-5582. Be sure to reference the GBA Annual Convention to receive the discounted rate.
Pre/Post Convention Extensions: The GBA discounted rate will be extended to accommodate early arrivals and late departures for the nights of Wednesday, June 15, 2005, through Friday, June 24, 2005, based on availability.

Air Travel ReservationsMost attendees will choose to fl y into Denver and rent a car to enjoy during their stay. There are a number of direct fl ights from Atlanta into Denver. For those who may not want to rent a car, there are a limited number of connecting fl ights from Denver into Vail. Post Convention TripsThe Leisure Department of Monumental Meetings can assist you with attractive post convention trips exclusively for GBA attendees. For those interested in destinations within driving distance from the Vail Valley, we suggest Pike’s Peak, Colorado; Durango, Colorado; or the Mesa Verde National Park, which borders on four states (Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona).
