For details about any part of the checklist,
review it online at myillini.illinois.edu by clicking
on your application for admission.
Accept/Decline
You can accept your offer of admission any time up
until May 1. To do so, you must submit a nonrefundable
enrollment fee of $150 using a credit or debit card. This
must be done before completing most of the steps on
this checklist (you can apply for financial aid and check
its status beforehand). If you were approved for an
application fee waiver, the enrollment fee will be waived.
NetID & Computing
Claim and set your NetID and NetID password
once you’ve accepted your offer of admission. You’ll
frequently use your NetID to access resources on
campus. To claim and set your NetID and NetID
password, you need your Activation Code and
University Identification Number (UIN), both of which
are available when you log in to myIllini.
Financial Aid
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) as soon as possible and have it sent to the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Checking Your Financial Aid Status
The Office of Student Financial Aid will notify you of any
financial aid you’ve received beginning in mid-February.
You can also access your Financial Aid Notification and
view your financial aid information online. You don’t have
to accept your offer of admission to view financial aid
information.
Housing
Housing applications are available starting in
December. After accepting your offer of admission,
complete your University Housing contract online with
your housing advance payment or apply online with a
Private Certified Housing facility.
New Student Registration
New Student Registration is a one-day program
where you’ll meet with academic advisors and
register for fall courses. Sign-up will begin in mid-
March. You’ll receive an email with more information
at that time.
College Registration Homework
You must complete your registration homework
at least two weeks before you participate in your
registration program. Registration homework will be
available in May.
Placement
You must complete your placement exams at least
two weeks before you participate in your registration
program. Placement exams will be available in May.
Test Scores
Send official scores directly from the testing agency.
Official test scores not yet received will be listed on
your admitted checklist in myIllini. We must receive
official scores by July 1.
Final Transcripts
Send your final transcripts to the Office of
Undergraduate Admissions as soon as final grades
are posted. We must receive them by July 1.
Required Immunizations
Immunization forms must be completed and
submitted to McKinley Health Center by July 1.
Disability-Related Resources
Students with disabilities must contact Disability
Resources and Educational Services (DRES) to
request and obtain disability-related assistance
at least six weeks before the first day of classes.
This will allow enough time to make the necessary
accommodations.

2. Compare your options.
Illinois offers 24 University Housing facilities, which are owned by the university, and 11
Private Certified Housing facilities, which are privately owned and operated. View them all
at go.illinois.edu/UHoptions and go.illinois.edu/PCHoptions, taking into account the things you
listed above. Then decide whether University Housing or Private Certified Housing makes
more sense for you.

1. Decide what’s important to you.
As a new student, you’re required to live in university-approved housing. Consider the things
you’re looking for: Do you care about location? What about food? Is air-conditioning a must?
Are you searching for people interested in the same things as you, or are you hoping to branch
out? Write down any preferences you have.
2. Complete your contract by May 15.
In addition to applying for LLCs, you’ll list your top
living locations in order of preference (go.illinois.edu/
UHlocations). Be sure to include locations across campus
in case your first option isn’t available. You can also
provide your preferred roommate’s name or search for
someone compatible in our system.
2. Contact the hall you’re interested in.
Each Private Certified Housing facility has its own process.
Because these halls fill on a first-come, first-served basis,
deadlines to guarantee space vary. When you know which
hall you want to live in, contact that hall to complete your
contract. Be careful not to sign a legally binding contract
with more than one unit.
4. Choose your room.
If you submit your contract by May 15, you’ll randomly be
assigned an entry time in late May to choose your exact
room. When that time arrives, you’ll select a space from
available rooms across campus, coordinating with your
roommate if you have one. You’ll also select your meal plan.

3. Narrow things down.
Dig deeper into your options at go.illinois.edu/UHoptions
until you have four to six specific halls in mind. Make sure
the halls are in a variety of locations based on what you
listed in your contract. This will come in handy later when
you go to choose your room.
1. Choose your favorites.
Do more research (talk to owners, take a tour) to narrow
down your choices. Add your top three halls below.
