Each morning all of the students will participate in a series of
workshops designed to teach concepts about business models.
These workshops utilize case studies, mini-competitions,
consultations, and the Business Model Generation text.

Storytelling, and Branding • Budget and Financing
Afternoon workshops focus on teaching and developing hard skills.
Students will spend time in the Skills and Systems Workshop
working on operational tasks to prepare their businesses for launch.

Field Visits & Expert Speakers
Once student teams are formed, they will have at least one
Idea Lab per day where students will have direct access
and interaction with their YEC Mentors.
Every day students will learn about the components of the
Business Model Canvas, exploring case studies and
competing in daily presentations.
At the end of the YEC, students will have the ability to give
formal business presentations, construct and analyze
budgets, build out business websites, and launch social
media campaigns.
We don’t ignore the real world! Students will have access
to an incredible array of expert speakers and have the
opportunity to visit some of the most innovative
entrepreneurial spaces in Boston!
Final Team Project
All of the elements of the
YEC revolve around
preparing teams for their
final presentations, where
they will pitch their original
business ideas to a panel of
industry professionals.
