Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh (25th-30th April 2012)
Young Gandhian Summit conducted in order to promote Gandhian philosophy
among youths and children organized by Gandhi Global Family (GGF), in association with
National Youth Project during April 25th to 30th, 2012. SP Verma, Vice President of
Gandhi Global Family, a Padmashree awardee and Rajendra Reddy, national executive
member, GGF, New Delhi inaugurated the programme at Indra Gandhi Park, Science
Centre Itanagar.
H.P Biswas, state convenor, GGF brief about the summit. Quiz competition on topics
related to Mahatma Gandhi was organized among students from various schools and
colleges. Arunachal Pradesh Governor General (Retd) J.J Singh was honoured with Gandhi
Seva Medal at Raj Bhawan by GGF for his contributions to the nation as the Chief of the
Army Staff and also Governor of Arunachal Pradesh. The medal was presented to him by a
GGF team led by its vice-president Verma. While receiving the medal, the Governor
appreciated the selfless services of GGF members for the cause of the community as well as
the country and urged them to continue the service with renewed vigour.
National Trade Fair Aalo, West Siang district - Arunachal Pradesh (4th to 17th May 2012)
A national trade fair was organised by NYP at Aalo during 4th to 17th May, 2012. Its main
objectives were to explore and harness the tourism potential of the state & to create a
platform for the local entrepreneurs to showcase their products, technologies and
services.
Youth Leadership Camp for Creation of Self Employment Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, (06th -10th May,2012)
The camp was organized by NYP-Arunachal in collaboration with Gandhi Smriti &
Darshan Samiti, Govt. of India. In all 152 youths including 80 young girls from different
states of North-East zone participates in the five-day Youth Leadership Camp held at
Bharat Scouts & Guides HQs, Naharlagun. In his inaugural address to the participants,
senior congress leader and advisor to CM, Tako Dabi exhorted them to realize their
potential as no nation could develop without channelizing its youth power. The camp
aimed at creating self employment and steer the minds of the GenNext. Appreciating the
NYP for organizing the much needed camp to give a right direction to the youth, Dabi
conveyed his gratitude to octogenarian Gandhian and NYP founder director Dr. Subba
Rao, popularly known as Bhaiji.
Describing the youths as the biggest assets of the country, agriculture director
(Marketing) AK Purakayastha and Capital Complex, DC Onit Panyang called upon them
to engage themselves in self-employment programmes instead of looking for only
white-collar jobs. While expressing deep concern over the involvement of the youth in
crimes, particularly in the Capital Complex, the DC advised them to realize the essence
of peace and change the attitudes to build a secured future, which in turn would
contribute to nation building.
The camp covered physical exercises, community services, flag salutation,
technical session related to skill development, languages class, and exchange of
languages by the participants, befriending through grouping, moral lessons, talent
search, games & sports, cultural exchange and all-religion prayer, talks and discussions,
cultural programme, participatory workshop on tribal art & culture, sadbhavana rally,
Bharat ki Santan the unity song-dance of India.
Besides Bhaiji, Arunachal Pradesh KVIB CEO Sukumal Deb, senior journalist Pradeep
Kumar and law deputy secretary Dani Bello, in their addresses, described the youth as
the future of India. Deb highlighted the pivotal role of Khadi Board and KVIC in creating
employment and exhorted the youth to realize their role in nation building and act in
tune with the fast changing time and situation.
Few pioneers including Arunachal Pradesh Weightlifting Association general
secretary Daniel Teli, entrepreneur & ACCI general secretary Tarh Nachung, youth
leader Kipa Kaha and IPR & APPSC secretary Indra Mallo Jain addressed the campers.
Arunachal Pradesh is an indivisible part of India like Jammu & Kashmir, said Gandhi
Smriti & Darshan Samiti director Dr Manimala, who arrived from New Delhi to take part
in the camp. She explained the value of friendship as well as humanity by citing the
examples of Indian humanists, like Gandhi, sufis and saints, who worked for the welfare
of the entire humanity, in her valedictory address to the 5th day Youth Leadership Camp.
Former Arunachal KVIC director AK Saran also attended the camp.
HIGH LEVEL FIELD VISIT TO SIKKIM (10th June to 12th June 2012)
Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Diary
Development Minister Setong Sena, accompanied with Agriculture Commissioner Hage
Kojin, Agriculture (marketing) Director AK Purkayastha, Jairampur ADC M Roy,
Horticulture deputy director Narang Tani, MARKFED MD S Laskar, NYP state President
HP Biswas and state’s senior journalist Pradeep Kumar undertook a three-day trip to
Sikkim to have first hand information about Livelihood Mission Schools set up one each
in 31 constituencies of that state to train the unemployed youths.
National Integration Camp in Jammu & Kashmir
(18th to 25th June 2012)
It was a great opportunity for the youths of remote Kurung Kumey district of
Arunachal Pradesh to a far off land - Jammu & Kashmir – by stepping outside the state
for the first time and journeying by train for the first time. The experience broadened
our mental horizons as to how diverse is India. This was the common expression of
Tatam Teli Camdir, Tassar Mama, Bengia Adam, Tamchi Dumber, Tok Hari, Ngurang
Yame, Taadar Mema and Nguri Kuki, who attended the National Integration Camp (NIC)
at Srinagar.
Their trip included the experiences, train journey, showcasing Arunachalee songs
and dances; teaching the Kashmiri youth songs and monumental Rikam Pada dance
while learning their songs, boat ride in Dal Lake; roaming the streets of the ‘Paradise on
Earth’ unhindered’. They sang a Kashmiri number as proof of their gain, true to what
J&K Youth Services & sports Minister R S Chib had said in his inaugural address, that the
NICs are held to promote the sense of unity in diversity among the youths of nation by
bringing them together irrespective of regions and religions. Everybody had heaped
praises on Dr SN Subha Rao for introducing multi-cultural identities of the India as
depicted in the ‘BHARAT KI SANTAN’, the unity song of the nation.
Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programme (Artificial Flowers & Woolen Garments)
Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh (02nd to 30th July 2012)
A programme was organized by NYP-Arunachal, as institutional partner of Indian
Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati under Ministry of Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises Govt. of India at Chainki Rijo School, Chandrnagar, Itanagar.
The month-long programme was for 60 unemployed youths on Artificial Flower
Making and Woolen Garments Manufacturing.
The inaugural function was attended by Lamai Tingwa and Kissumi Namchoom, NYP
coordinator along with master trainer Subu Anga. The skill development training for the
60 unemployed youths from various parts of Capital Complex aimed at strengthening
self-employment generation. As part of its continuous endeavour to bring about
sustained self-employment in the state, the NYP render the ‘trained’ youths with all
possible supports for setting up of their own unit.
Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programme (Fashion Designing)
Deomali in Tirap district Arunachal Pradesh (08th July to 08th August 2012)
National Youth Project-A.P was conducted one month training programme on
Fashion Designing at Deomali of Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh as part of its
initiative to bring sustained self-employment among the rural as well as urban youths in
the state. Total 35 candidates participated in the programme. NYP-A.P had extended all
possible support to the ‘trained’ designers for setting up of their own ventures in their
locality after the completion of the 30 days training programme.
Farmers Club Orientation Programme Mebo & Pasighat, East Siang district (A.P) on 20th July 2012
Farmers from Mebo-Pasighat area participated in an orientation programme
which coincided with the inauguration of the farmer’s club in East Siang district in
Arunachal Pradesh. The importance of agriculture, horticulture and fisheries
development activities was stressed by the resource persons during the programme,
which was conducted by National Youth Project-A.P under NABARD Promotional &
Developmental Programme.
Annual Orientation cum Awareness Programme Maryiang, Upper Siang district (A.P) on 10th August 2012
The farmers Clubs of village Moopan, Engo Takar, Koje Janggo, Boga Lasing, Ute
Dende, Tapgong, Lane Yine, Lingkum Basing Yibe and Yame Valley of Damro- Mariyang
areas of Upper Siang were launched an Awareness programme of Agriculture,
Horticulture, Fisheries and Sericulture development on 10th August 2012 at Pertin
Musup Damro. ADO Ms Pormila Pegu and Ani Lego DO were chief Guest and Guest of
Honour of the programme. Various other resource persons were attended along with
them. Ms Promila Megu deliberately gave advice to the farmers of Damro-Mariyang
areas and Mr. Ani Lego was lamented the importance of Sericulture and others activities
which is related to the famers and they also encourage to the farmers of Damro-
Mariyang to develop the Sericulture, which is important for future aspects of the
farmers.
Orientation Programme on Livelihood Mission School Nampong , Changlang District on 13th August 2012
Concerned rise in the high-school dropout rate, particularly before class XII that
had become the greatest liability for the society. President and Vice-President of
National Youth Project-A.P described in detail the concept of livelihood schools, besides
the activities of NYP. Agriculture , Horticulture, Diary development Minister Setong
Sena, ADC M Roy, ZPM KN Tikhak, ZPM Zoya Longri, National Youth Project-A.P
President H.P Biswas, Vice-President Pradeep Kumar and other public described the
project as the ‘need of the hour’ that would serve as a silver lining in the dark cloud. The
Minister entourage later inspected the location of the school to be setup.
Adivasi Kala Sangam – A Tribal Cultura Festival Matteli, Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal
(04th to 07th October 2012)
National Youth Project-AP in association with Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti,
Govt. of India organized four days Adivasi Kala Sangam -Tribal Cultural Festival at
Matteli of Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal from 4th to 7th October 2012. In this festival
altogether 44 tribal groups from Sikkim, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh
and Jammu and Kashmir participated with their colourful art and culture with vibrant
songs and dances.
On 5th October Eminent Gandhian, Dr. S.N. Subba Rao, the living spirit of
Mahatma Gandhi inaugurated the festival with varies guest from Matteli area. Dr. Rao
appreciates all the cultural troops for their unique dance form with colorful dresses.

NYP-Arunachal team was selected the best performer for the National Level
Competition scheduled at Delhi. The other teams included the Lepcha and Rai dance of
Sikkim and Raba dance of West Bengal. The camp concluded with distribution of
participation certificates to each 443 campers.
Bal Mela - Childrens Festival Nampong, Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh
(16th -18th October 2012)
Bal Mela (Children Festival), organized by National Youth Project in association
with Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti-Govt. of India at Nampong, Changlang district in
Arunachal Pradesh bordering Myanmar. About 100-odd children are took part in the
festival. The inmates of the stay home hail from Manmao, Nampong, Rima, Putak,
Renuk and Longtoi circles. Dr S N Subba Rao a great Gandhian, loving called Bhaiji,
enthused the children through his educative and value-based interactions on the youth
power and the responsibilities of the children could shoulder to help Bharat remain
united and become a strong and prosperous nation when every Indian could live with
pride happily. The event includes talent programme, games & sports, talk and
discussion, cultural programme, talent exchange programme, participatory workshop on
tribal art & culture, Sadbhavana rally, all religious prayers, BHARAT KI SANTAN, the
unity song-dance of 18 different languages in India dance director Narender
Wadgaookar.
Launching of Chief Minister’s Livelihood Mission School Nampong, Changlang District in Arunachal Pradesh
(18th October 2012)
Chief Minister Shri Nabum Tuki launched the CM’s Livelihood Mission School (CMLMS) as
a pilot project at Nampong in Changlang district on 18th October 2012, in presence of
Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Diary Development Minister Setong Sena,
Finance, Planning and PWD Minister Chowna Mein and NYP national director Dr. S N Subba
Rao, NYP-AP President H P Biswas, vice president Pradeep Kumar, coordinator Lamai Tingwa,
Aruna Namchoom, Kissumi Namchoom besides public leaders. Dr. Rao, in his address, hoped
that the CMLMS would turn into the lighthouse of India. Appreciating the NYP-Arunachal for its
commitment for state building, the CM assured all possible support and help for success of its
all future endeavours, including the schools.
State Level Workshop on PMEGP
State Science Centre, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh (8th Nov 2012)
The NYP-Arunachal conducted a day-long state level workshop on Prime
Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in collaboration with Khadi &
Village Industries Commission (KVIC) at science centre Itanagar. MLA Tako Dabii, North
Easter Zonal KVIC member Sharif Ur-Zamam Laskar, APVKIB CEO S Deb, State KVIC in-
charge assistant director AP Chobin, industries director Repo Ronya attended the
workshop. Chobin gave an overview of the PMEGP, saying the flagship programme of
GoI aimed at generating employment and check rural to urban migration by boosting
rural economy. Exhibitions was also arrange during the workshop.
Adivasi Kala Sangam, Tribal Cultural Festival Nirjuli, Papumpare district, Arunachal Pradesh (08th to 11th Nov 2012)
The four-day Adivasi Kala Sangam (Tribal Cultural festival) at Nyikum Niya Hall
was organized by NYP-Arunachal in collaboration with Gandhi Smriti and Darshan
Samiti. Arunachal Pradesh Building & Others Construction Workers Welfare Board
chairman Jalley Sonam exhorted them to refrain from drug and alcohol abuse and
concentrate in whatever field they were engaged.
Arunachal Pradesh Weightlifting Association president Abraham K Techi,
speaking as guest of honour, exhorted them to make best use of their youth power for
nation building. The event included talent programme, games & sports, talk and
discussion, cultural programme, talent exchange programme, participatory workshop on
tribal art & culture show etc. Shri Y D Thongchi State Information Commissioner also
grace the festival on valedictory function.

Awareness Camp on Forward Marketing (27th December 2012)
The NABCONS has led to a tremendous improvement in strengthening and development
in the field of agriculture & infrastructure. In order to create self employable among the rural
masses of Kurung Kumey district NABCONS conducted an Expert meet Programme on 27th
January 2012 at Dado of Kurung Kumey Dist in Arunachal Pradesh. Various Resources
persons gave a brief speech and encourage for Farmers development. The Farmers Club
members were appreciated with the process of minimizing the risk of default.

Nampoong, Changlang District in Arunachal Pradesh

The District level Exhibition organized by NYP-AP at Nampong which was
Sponsored by Khadi & Village Industries Commission from 27th to 29th December 2012.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry &
Dairy Development Minister Setong Sena. The exhibition was conceived with a view to
promote khadi products, handmade products, tourism, indigenous culture and
traditional, handloom & handicrafts and showcase its rich culture heritage.

National Youth Project-AP organized one day Entrepreneurs Awareness
Programme on 28th December 2013 at Nampong of Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh. NYP vice-president Pradeep Kumar and Roimem Jugli were present while senior artisans of Nampong were the resource persons.
Pradeep Kumar discussed in details about various schemes run by Khadi and
Village Industries Commission, under the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and stressed on the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) scheme. He discussed on various trades to be taken up under PMEGP scheme with subsidy-based loan to generate employment in rural and urban area. Jugli shared her experience relating to employment generation.
Entrepreneurship Development Programme (Handloom) Nampong, Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh

National Youth Project-AP launched KVIC sponsored Entrepreneurs Development Programme (EDP) on Handloom for 20 unemployed women from Nampong area. On 28th December, the programme was formally inaugurated by Dr S.N. Subba Rao, along with various guests. The 7-day training programme covered theory and practical session which was conducted by the master trainer and other guest faculties from various fields of experts.

Programme on ‘Packaging and Preservation at Nampong in Changlang district from 29th
December 2012 to 18th January 2013 at craft centre Nampong where 20 unemployed
women of Nampong took part.
North East Regional Planning Meeting
Nampong, Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh
(28th to 30th Dec 2012)
The meet was organized by Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti in association with National
Youth Project – AP to discussed the future programmes of the Samiti in different parts of the
country. Altogether 56 participants from all the North Eastern States took part in it and
discussed various programmes. The meeting was chaired by Dr Manimala, Director GSDS, New
Delhi.
1st Gandhi Ashram in Arunachal Pradesh
Mahadevpur, Lohit district in Arunachal Pradesh (31st December 2012)
While local inhabitants were getting ready to bid goodbye to 2012, a new ray of hope
dawned in this village in Lohit district with Gandhian Dr SN Subba Rao laying the
foundation stone of the First Gandhi Ashram in Arunachal Pradesh on 31st December 2012
at Mahadevpur. Wishing success of the Ashram, Bhaiji called upon the villagers to imbibe
community spirit for development of the area and contribute towards nation building. He
lauded state KVIC in-charge A P Chobin and Arunachal Gandhi Ashram President HP
Bisawas for their untiring efforts to spread Khadi Movement in the state to benefit its
masses.
ESDP on Computer Hardware Chowkham, Lohit District in Arunachal Pradesh (7th Jan to 25th Feb 2013)
On 7th January 2013 a two-month long Entrepreneurship and Skill Development
Programme(ESDP) on Computer Hardware and Networking was started with mastered
trainer Subash Singh, with 30 local youths, including 26 women, as trainees conducted at
chongkham, Lohit district organized by the National Youth Project-AP to provide skill
development training to make the youth employable. The programme was sponsored by
Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati.
ESDP-ON Beautician & Cosmetology Sengsap in Lohit distrct – Arunachal Pradesh (7th Jan to 6th Feb 2013)
National Youth Project (NYP) organised Enterpreneurship and Skill development
programm (ESDP) on Beautician & Cosmetology at Sengsap in Lohit distrct which was

National Youth Project organized one day Entrepreneurs Awareness Programme

district of Arunachal Pradesh. On 7th January the programme was formally inaugurated

ESDP-On Tour Operator Soluntoo of Lohit distrct in Arunachal Pradesh (10th Jan to 3rd Feb 2013)
A month long training on tour operators being conducted at Soluntoo in Lohit distrct by
the National Youth Project-AP, sponsored by the Indian Institute of Enterpreneurs (IIE),
Guwahati. Resourse person from Uttar Pradesh, IPS Yadev, has been engaged for
imparting pratical knowledge through demonstration to the trainees and exhorted them
to learn the skill of the trade through the Enterpreneurship and Skill development
programme (ESDP) course to become self-employed.

National Youth Project (NYP) launched its 5th Enterpreneurship and Skill
development programm (ESDP) on Fashion Designing at Tezu on 12th January 2013

MSME, Govt of India. 25 unemployed youth from the districts was attended the training
programme and learn various aspects of cutting, tailoring and fashion designing.

long Entrepreneurs Awarnees Programme ( EAP) & Entrepreneurs Development
Programme ( EDP) at Lathao circle of Lohit district. 20 selected from hundreds of
unemployed youths participated in the EAP. They took training on beauty parlour and its
management. This was one of the 18 such programmes supported by KVIC during the
current financial year which gave training to more than 2000 unemployed youths.

Skill Development Programme (Beauty Parlour)
Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh (1st Feb to 20th Feb, 2013)
A “ Skill Development Programme on Beauty Parlour” sponsored by the Khadi and
Village Industries Commission of GOIs MSME ministry being organised by the National
Youth Project- AP at Itanagar from 1st Feb to 20th Feb, 2013. In all twenty women
including university and college students was participated in the programme. NYP
President H.P. Biswas informed the trainees that the course aims at making them
employable and self dependent. Further, to encourage the young Arunachalees senior
journalist Pradep kumar said. “It is the beauty but brain which matters the most. a
trained brain can beautified things better”. Jitu Bagbi, a final year B.Com student of
DNGC , is the master trainer of the course.

Scores of young emerging enterpreneurs of the Capital Complex participated in
a State level Vendor Development Programme organised by the state branch of the
GoI’s Micro , Small and Medium Enterprise(MSME) Development institute in association
with the National Youth Project at the science centre on 22 Feb 2013. Attending the
programme as the Chief guest Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries
president Lala Techi called for proper implementation of departmental schemes for
enterprises.

ESDP on Food Processing Tezu of Lohit District in Arunachal Pradesh (8th March to 1st April 2013)
National Youth Project conducted 2 programmes (150 + 150) hours long
Entrepreneurs & Skill Development Programme (ESDP) on food Processing which was
sponsored by Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship under the Ministry of Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India at Tezu for the 50 unemployed youths of the Tezu
area from 8th March to 1st April 2013.
After formal inauguration of the ESDP, at Tezu in which H.P Biswas, NYP
President gave a welcome address and stress about the benefits of Food processing in
near future to come so that the unemployment problem of the local youths can be solved
at a larger scale. And also spoke in the function & emphasized on promotion of self
employment and said that the youths should opt for entrepreneurship by setting up their
own venture and encouraged the trainees to hone their skills for the cause of livelihood.
He also extended a note of appreciation to NYP and IIE for the ESDP being conducted in
the state.
International Women’s Day Observed Seijosa of East Kameng District in Arunachal Pradesh (8th March 2013)
On 8th march 2013, NYP seijosa & IDEA group of Seijosa celebrated
International Womens Day where many dignitaries are present. Shri Tayek Pado, ADC as
Chief Guest and Smti Maya Dolo, ZPM Seijosa was Guest of honour. Dr (Ms) Bagra, Mo
(Homeo), Dr (Ms) Parveen Ahmed, AIMS, New delhi are also Present there. Chief guest,
Guest of Honour, invities alongwith Mrs Bijoy Laskshm Sinha, Dist Coordinator, NYP
seijosa and Sanjay Sinha Former Dist Coordinator, NYP. Seijosa motivates the womens
group of seijosa and also Mrs Maya dolo announced Rs 50,000/- for women group of
seijosa and also advise to form Mahela Mandal.

Bharat Jodo Movement Indira Gandhi Park, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh
The great mission Bharat Joro Movement Strated on 15th March 2013 to spread
the spirit of unity. On the occasion of flagging off the month long Bharat Jodo
Movement at Indira Gandhi Park, Itanagar, Chief minister Nabam Tuki while describing
the movements as a great mission to spread the spirit of unity amongst Indians,
underscored that every indian,including the younger generation neede to work with
responsibility while discharging one’s duty. he was accompanied by Finance Minister
Chowna Mein, Agriculture Minister Setong Sena and Gandhian Dr SN Subba Rao.
CMLMS tackling Unemployment At Nampong , Changlang district on 27th March 2013
The Chief Minister Livelihood Mission School at Nampong in Changlang district
has become a ray of hope in tackling unemployment problem in Arunachal Pradesh,
Agriculture, Horticulture and Dairy Development minister Setong Sena said on 27 March
2013. The training has change the attitude of the youth which make them self –reliant
and independent. The activities include self-relianced poultry farm started by three
trainees , vegetable cultivation by nine others while all the 42 trainees including 23 girls
were given practical demonstration on a regular basis by the faculty members besides
taking them on trips for practical knowledge.
The CMLMS funded by Sena from his MLAAD fund aims at providing free training
to youth in the age group of 18 to 30 in two of the 18 trades identified by the NYP. If
one CMLMS in each 60 Assembly constituency is set up as per the principle decision of
the cabinet, 20 youths could be trained in two batches for six months to make them
employable. NYP president HP biswas Said this would bring the total number of trainnes
in a year to 7200. The NYP with NABARD funding has already trained 25000 people by
forming farmers clubs and SHGS during the last three years through its 47 functioning
centres located throughout the state. The activities of each passed out trainees are
monitored while the NYP facilitates forward market linkage for their products to get
remunerative prices. Two farmers club of Anjaw district sold large size Cardamom worth
Rs 1.76 crore in 2011.
