INTRODUCTION THIS IS LSC
CONTENTS
LSC provides high quality language study programmes for young learners. Each programme offered by LSC encourages students to learn English through language study, activities and cultural experiences. We offer our students tuition and support, and strive to make sure their speaking abilities improve with every step of their journey with us. Through developing the language, social and technical skills of students, we can help in opening the door to an exchange of ideas, values and beliefs.
Ensuring customer and partner satisfaction with their LSC experience requires dedication to providing a high-quality service. We continuously develop our courses and products to remain at the forefront of international education in a constantly changing world. Over the years, LSC has built a strong reputation based on their long-term focus, experience, knowledgeable workforce and highly trusted programmes. These factors are the foundation for our long-lasting partnerships with partners all over the world.
Within this brochure, you will find information regarding programme options, centre locations and facilities, sample timetables, possible excursions and more. This will give you an overview of the general information you require as one of our Language School partner agencies.
Although we have tried to include as much information as possible, specific questions can always arise. If so, please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated Partner Sales team at [email protected] and we will be happy to assist you.

The purpose of LSC courses Our philosophy is to educate, encourage and help students enjoy our course towns. It is often a case of helping students to ‘come out of their shell’, increase their confidence in using English and provide an opportunity to use it in meaningful situations, both inside the classroom and out in the real world.
Academic Overview Our main aim is to facilitate students’ linguistic development, inspire confidence and increase theirfluency in spoken English. This can be achieved by acombination of:

Academic ProgrammeOn a standard LSC course, we offer 15 hours of tuition a week. Our timetable is usually organised on a zig-zag basis. This means that students will have lessons in the morning and their social programmes in the afternoon and evening. This is then reversed on a weekly basis. Consequently, students attend morning and afternoon lessons on alternate weeks* which allows the students to get the most out of their time with us.
All students take a test and have a brief interview upon arrival to assess how well they are able to understand and speak English. This enables us to place them in the class where they will be happiest and most successful. Normally the maximum class size is 15. We have a system of continuous enrolment which allows students to join the school on any given day.
We operate a system of swapping teachers, whereby students have the main class teacher for the first two sessions and then a second teacher for the last session. This helps to expose students to a wider variety of accents and teaching styles, but it also breaks up the routine and teachers have an opportunity to build on each other’s strengths. The first two sessons are grammar and language based, while the last one focuses on CLIL (Contents and Language Integrated Learning), during which students use English to learn about other subjects e.g. Geography.
At the end of their stay at LSC, students are presented with an Academic Report and a Certificate of Attendance. The former provides a detailed description of the students’ academic performance and their level according to the CEFR (Common European Framework) while the latter states the duration of their course and the name of the centre.

The LSC Football course is the perfect place to learn English, improve your football skills and make new friends both on and off the pitch. This is an inspiring 2-week programme for young players aged 12-17 to practise their football skills daily under the eye of football association coaches and improve their English in the classroom with LSC teachers. Our ESP course is designed specifically to help players develop essential communication skills in an authentic football context. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to learn football English and take part in training with other players from around the world.
At LSC we offer preparation for and achievement of GESE qualifications that support students who wish to develop their proficiency in English language speaking. Trinity’s GESE exams are designed to complement general English language courses and Exam preparation takes place during lessons and focuses on the development of communicative skills and building confidence among candidates. Our teachers offer guidance about the knowledge and skills required at each proficiency level and prepare our students to the best of their abilities.

ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
Residential accommodation: All our residential accommodation is chosen to suit the needs of our students. Room layouts vary depending on the location and course chosen. Typically, we offer single bedrooms with private bathrooms or single bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities. The two exceptions are London Harrow, where we offer twin bedrooms with private bathrooms, and London St Alban’s, where students are accommodated in single/twin/triple bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities.
Homestay accommodation: Our host families come from all different backgrounds. Some have young or grown children, or have worked overseas themselves, while others enjoy welcoming multinational students into their homes. Often, homestay arrangements result in lasting relationships between host families and students which continue after the students have finished their course.
Hotels/hostels/camping: On our adventure tours in the US and Canada, students will stay in a variety of different types of accommodation, from hotels to hostels, to sleeping in tents under the open sky. It all adds to the adventure!

CAMPUS FACILITIESEach centre varies slightly with the range of student facilities it offers. All campuses have lecture theatres, classrooms with interactive whiteboards, libraries and Wi-Fi capabilities to allow for the best possible environment for learning. Some locations boast extensive sports fields, sports halls and a pool. These areas ensure students have ample space for on campus games and activities outside of planned lesson and excursion time. On each campus, the Student Union building will be used for up to two discos a week, so that students have the chance to interact with everyone who is on the programme at the same time as them. There are often many different cafes available in case students find themselves hungry or in need of a hot drink outside of dedicated mealtimes.

As a provider of British Council accredited courses in the UK, it is LSC’s mission to ensure that our students experience their lessons, activities and excursions in a safe and supervised environment.
The well-being, safety and welfare of young people who study with us is our first priority and it is vital to ensuring they have a great experience. We adopt clear policies for the welfare of all students, and these standards apply to all staff and Host Families who we employ.
Child safeguarding forms an integral part of staff training. All our staff, including the London Head Office senior management team, teachers, activity leaders and host families undertake DBS criminal background checks (or similar police checks if they come or have travelled from outside the UK) prior to employment. In addition to this, everybody is thoroughly interviewed, and Host Families have their accommodation carefully checked before hosting students.
Our highly motivated senior management team have experience in the delivery of educational tours for young people from across the world, and our dedicated Safeguarding team make sure all welfare policies are followed through.

EXCURSIONS & OPTIONAL TRIPS
ExcursionsExcursions are an amazing opportunity for students to learn about the local history and culture as well as to have fun with their new friends. At LSC, we offer a wide range of excursions to fun, cultural and historical destinations. Excursions vary by centre and generally include an activity or admission to a local attraction, such as a visit to a world heritage site, a walk around the historic sites of a nearby city or spending the day at the beach.
Excursions are led by LSC Activity Leaders with a ratio of one adult per twenty students. Activity Leaders are specifically trained on how to escort groups on local walks and excursions. Leaders ensure the safety of the students,
as well as provide them with information on the excursion destination and the main sights.
Excursion OutcomesExcursions provide great learning opportunities outside of the classroom. Students learn about British life, history and culture while developing their language, and learning important life skills.
Safety SupervisionThe safety and well-being of students is always our top priority. Activity Leaders are specifically briefed on road traffic safety, and procedures in the event of an emergency.
