After School After school it is expected that students leave
the building and return home. Unless a student has permission from
a teacher, is attending after school tutoring, or is participating
in extra or co-curricular activities. Students will be monitored

Students riding district buses will be expected to follow
district rules while on the buses and cooperate with the driver

Attendance If students are not in attendance according to state
law, missed days will be made up after school is out in Attendance
Summer School If students are out for a legitimate reason, a parent
or guardian must provide a written note when the student returns to
school. A note must be received within 4 DAYS or the absence will

Checking In / Out of school All students must be checked in and
out in the Attendance office. The attendance office will have a
form to sign students in and out of school. No child will be
checked out of the building by anyone other then those individuals
who are noted on the registration form

Late Arrival to school If any student is late to school in the
morning, a Late Arrival Slip will be needed to enter class. The
Late Arrival Slip must be picked up from the Attendance office
Students are allowed four late arrivals per school year. After four
Late Arrivals, students are turned over to a truancy officer.

Hallways We expect our hallways, as well as any other area at
YMLA, to be a safe and orderly environment for everyone Walk on the

stay after school. No shows or late arrival will result in evening

schedule conflict In-School Suspension (ISS): Reserved for more
serious offenses and persistent misbehavior ISS will be held on

According to board policy, the Code of Conduct, and the YMLA
Discipline Plan Assigned to the AEP for very serious offenses, and

Lockers and Locks No lockers will be issued in the building
during the 2012-13 school year Students can carry their backpacks
to their classes Students participating in PE/Athletics will be
issued a locker in their dressing room. Students will have to
provide their own lock.

Electronic Devices Must remain off and put away while on campus
during school hours otherwise it will be take up without warning
Confiscated electronic devices, including cell phones, will be
returned to the parent/guardian on the first offense. If
confiscated more than once, the item will be returned to the
parent/guardian at a fee of $15.00 for each offense or will be kept
until the last day of the school year. Teachers may allow students
to use their electronic devices for educational purposes. This only
applies to that teachers classroom on the day he or she gives
permission

computers, or personal digital assistants (PDAs), magazines,
handheld electronic games, playing cards, and other such
unauthorized items can be confiscated by any staff member if they
