Parish Office

For the health and safety of clergy, staff and parishioners, the parish office is not open at this

time. However, the USPS mail is being delivered, and telephone calls continue to be received.

Envelopes

Some parishioners have asked how they can

continue to tithe to the church now that

there’s no “collection basket.” You may mail

checks to the church (see addresses below).

Our parish now has the capacity to accept

donations online. (see next pages for info!)

Your generosity is appreciated. At the same

time, we do understand that many people face

economic hardship during this difficult pan-

demic. Our prayers are with them, and for all

who are struggling through this time.

Mass Schedule

For the time being, we are discontinuing the

printing the Mass schedule in the bulletin.

The last Mass intentions were satisfied on

Sunday, March 22. All other Masses will be

rescheduled at another date. We will inform

the parish when that takes place.

Our new Mass schedule will take place on

the weekend of May 23rd & May 24th.

New Mass Schedule begins Saturday, May 23rd & Sunday, May 24th

As we strive for more vibrant liturgies in the face a dwindling number of priests and a

smaller Mass attendance, a new Mass schedule will be going into effect in late May. After a

tentative Mass schedule was proposed, a listening session was held at each church. More

meetings were held after that, until a final Mass schedule was worked out. Every effort was

made to listen to the concerns of parishioners and to be as accommodating as possible. Every

church will still have a Sunday Mass, which has not been the case in other parish groupings.

Below is the new Mass schedule that will take effect Saturday, May 23. At this time, we do

not know when we can resume having Masses.

Saturday Sunday

4pm Our Lady Of Lourdes 8am St. Columbkille

4pm St. Alphonsus 8am St. Ann

6:30pm St. Columbkille 8:30am St. Alphonsus

10am St. Columbkille

10am St. Michael

10:30am St. Patrick

12pm Our Lady Of Lourdes

Since Mass is still being offered at every church, transportation should not be an issue. But

if someone needs help getting to Mass, the grouping will look for creative solutions. Perhaps

a transportation ministry can begin, where parishioners volunteer to take the elderly to a

nearby church. Perhaps the grouping can employ a nearby taxi service to drive people to

Mass. The grouping wants to do whatever it can to assist those who need help getting to Mass.

two times per week on Saturdays:

These will be drive up confessions.

Individuals making their confession should do

is respected in a regularconfessional by hav-

hoped that, at the time of confession, the on-

lyindividual in the car would be the one mak-

Online Giving is now active in our parish!

You have many options to give and designate your contribution. Go to

https://grouping329.org/donate for details, and to set up online giving.

1. It’s convenientyou don’t have to go through the trouble of

writing a check, sticking it in an envelope, writing an amount on

the envelope and remembering to bring it with you to church.

2. It’s easyif you select the “recurring payment” option, you don’t have

to remember every week or every month to make a donation. Once

you set up the amount and frequency, the donations will be made automatically.

3. It’s consistentif you miss church for any reason, you’re still able to support the parish.

4. It’s easier to processour volunteers who count money will have an easier time because online payments

are processed electronically.

5. It gives you more controlif you create a profile, you’ll be able to log in any time and see your giving

history. You can change the amount and frequency of your giving any time.

6. It’s secureVanco, our paymrnt processor, maintains the highest level of PCIcompliance to ensure the

security of donations.

Help us feed those in need and FILL THE FIRE TRUCKS!

The Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a Stuff A FireTruck Food Drive at our station on Sunday

low on food items due to a high need during this worldwide pandemic.

Please bring any nonperishable food items to the sta-

tion. We will be following strict guidelines and taking

the necessary precautions such as wearing masks,

gloves, social distancing and washing hands regular-

ly. When you arrive please stay in your car. A volun-

teer will advise you of what to do next. This will be a

drivethru food drive and all donations will be stuffed

in a Fire Truck to be delivered to the food banks.

We are so thankful to have such a caring community.

+ Readings for the Sixth Sunday of Easter, May 17, 2020 +

While we cannot be present together for Sunday Mass, we can prayerfully enter into the

Liturgy through the readings of the Word.

Reading 1 Acts 8:58, 1417

Philip went down to the city of Samaria and

proclaimed the Christ to them. With one

accord, the crowds paid attention to what was

said by Philip when they heard it and saw the

signs he was doing.

For unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice,

came out of many possessed people, and many

paralyzed or crippled people were cured. There

was great joy in that city.

Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard

that Samaria had accepted the word of God,

they sent them Peter and John, who went

down and prayed for them, that they might re‐

ceive the Holy Spirit, for it had not yet fallen

upon any of them; they had only been baptized

in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid

hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.

The Word of the Lord…….R. Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 66

R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

Shout joyfully to God, all the earth,

sing praise to the glory of his name;

proclaim his glorious praise. Say to God, “How

tremendous are your deeds!”

R.Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

“Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you,

sing praise to your name!”

Come and see the works of God, his tremen‐

dous deeds among the children of Adam.

R.Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

Responsorial Psalm cont’d

He has changed the sea into dry land;

through the river they passed on foot;

therefore let us rejoice in him.

He rules by his might forever.

R.Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

Hear now, all you who fear God, while I declare

what he has done for me.

Blessed be God who refused me not

my prayer or his kindness!

R.Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

Reading 2 1 Peter 3:1518

Beloved:

Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be

ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks

you for a reason for your hope, but do it with

gentleness and reverence, keeping your con‐

science clear, so that, when you are maligned,

those who defame your good conduct in Christ

may themselves be put to shame. For it is better

to suffer for doing good, if that be the will of

God, than for doing evil.

For Christ also suffered for sins once, the right‐

eous for the sake of the unrighteous, that he

might lead you to God. Put to death in the flesh,

he was brought to life in the Spirit.

The Word of the Lord…....R. Thanks be to God.

Alleluia John 14:23

R.Alleluia, alleluia.

Whoever loves me will keep my word, says the

Gospel John 14:1521

Jesus said to his disciples: “If you love me, you

will keep my commandments. And I will ask the

Father, and he will give you another Advocate to

be with you always, the Spirit of truth, whom the

world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor

knows him. But you know him, because he re‐

mains with you, and will be in you.

I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

In a little while the world will no longer see me,

Gospel continued

but you will see me, because I live and you will

live. On that day you will realize that I am in my

Father and you are in me and I in you.

Whoever has my commandments and observes

them is the one who loves me. And whoever

loves me will be loved by my Father,

and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”

The Gospel of the Lord.

R. Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ.
