School Shop End of Term Opening Times The final School Shop opening for this term will be on the final Monday of term, 11th December, between 3.00pm and 5.30pm. The shop will not open on Thursday 14th December. The shop’s first opening of Spring Term 2018 will be on Thursday 11th January between 3.00pm and 5.30pm.

Activities will be running for children from Year 1 upwards for four days in December before Christmas and three in the New Year before term starts:

• 18th - 21st December 2017

• 2nd to 4th January 2018

Full details and booking forms can be collected from School Reception or download the booking form from the school website.

Fun-der-ZoneEarly Years Holiday Care for children in the Nursery and Reception will run for four days in December and three in the New Year before we return to school:

• 18th - 21st December 2017

• 2nd - 4th January 2018

Full details and booking forms can be collected from School Reception or download the booking form from the school website.

Early Years Holiday Care

Big Bash CompetitionThe Big Bash Competition will be Christmas Feet and Head! Children can create or decorate any sort of head and foot wear and make them as festive as possible. Get out the Christmas baubles and tinsel and let your imagination run riot! Children should come to school in their normal uniform and bring a decorated costume for the afternoon. As last year, the competition is open to all children from Years 1 to 8.

Prep Carol ServiceThere are still a few tickets available for the Yateley Manor Prep Carol Service which will take place on Friday 15th December at 3.00pm in the Fyson Blum Hall.

If you would like to attend and have not already requested tickets, please complete the form here or email your request to [email protected]. Tickets will be sent home towards the end of next week.

The traditional Big Bash will take place on the afternoon of Thursday 14th December. The Prep children are getting excited and are busy organising their stalls. It is up to them to collect together everything they need and to make sure they bring it all into school on Thursday morning. The children are given time in the morning to set up their stall in the Fyson Blum Hall before the event in the afternoon.

Year 1 and 2 children are invited to join in the fun and try out some of the stalls created by the Prep children. The emphasis of the afternoon is on fun and all the money raised will go to this year’s school charity of the Year. We hope that you will support your children with their stalls and allow them some spending money. Pupils should bring in small change, up to a maximum of £5, in a named envelope to be handed to their form teacher at the start of the day. Envelopes will be returned to the children before the start of the Bash.

As always there will be a Christmas themed competition, details of which are beside this article. Children should come to school in their uniform and bring their outfit with them for the afternoon. Let your imagination and tinsel run riot! We look forward to some imaginative entries. Children in all years are also encouraged to bring their Christmas jumpers to school to wear during the event.

The Christmas Bash is always very popular with the children and we are grateful to families for their support. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate ex-pupils at the Bash.

The Big Bash

This Christmas we are again supporting the Salvation Army’s Christmas Present Appeal and are collecting shoe boxes filled with gifts for disadvantaged children within the local community. If you would like to help us brighten the Christmas of others, instructions and suggestions for possible gifts can be found in last week’s INAMOS. Please remember that the Salvation Army would be happy to receive boxes for adults too. Boxes should be put under the Christmas Tree in Reception by Monday 11th December. Thank you.

Individual and Sibling Photographs

While you are shopping the children will be kept busy with face painting, cookie decorating, hoopla, pin the nose on Rudolph, lucky dip and the chance to decorate our big Christmas tree. Santa will be waiting in his grotto to greet children.

The Pre-Prep Choir, Junior and Senior Manor Singers will be adding to the festive atmosphere with Christmas Carols and songs (please see article below for timings) and hot drinks, mulled wine, savoury snacks, cakes and mince pies will be on sale.

FYMS would still be grateful for help with a few things:

• The loan of Woodland , Arctic and Antarctic soft toys for Santa’s Grotto. Soft toys should be named and brought to the Fayre on the day. All toys lent will be left in Reception on the Monday for collection.

• Volunteer Helpers: Parents who are able to volunteer for an hour or two on the day to help with everything from the Santa’s grotto to serving teas and coffees.

• Cake donations: FYMS would be grateful for donations of cakes for the Fayre. These can be dropped off as you arrive at the Fayre. Gluten free options are always gratefully received and, of course, please NO nuts!

If you are able to help with any of these things, please contact Nikki Subhan at [email protected] or on 07824442556.

Members of Pre-Prep choir are reminded to meet in the Music School at 1.00pm on Sunday for a warm up prior to singing at the FYMS Christmas Fayre in the Fyson Blum Hall at 1.30pm. Children will be dismissed to their parents in the Hall straight after their performance.

Junior and Senior Manor Singers should meet in the Music School at 2.00pm for their warm up. They will be performing at 2.30pm. Children will also be dismissed to their parents in the Hall straight after their performance.

School uniform is not required by choir members for this event. Festive clothing is optional!

The FYMS Nursery and Pre-Prep Christmas parties will be held on Wednesday 13th December. FYMS asks for a donation of £5 per child toward the costs of the party and presents. We would be very grateful if you could put your £5 in an envelope labelled with your child's name and form group into the FYMS Post box in the school office.

Children in Nursery, Reception and Years 1 and 2 may come to school in traditional party clothes on that day if they would like. Please, no lycra or football kits.

Children may be collected from the Pre-Prep steps straight after the concert although clubs and night owls will operate as usual.

Wednesday 13th December• Christmas Parties: The Nursery Christmas Party starts at 10.30am and all Nursery children are invited to attend, even if they do

not normally come to school on Wednesdays. The Pre-Prep Party will take place in the afternoon. Children in the Nursery and Pre-Prep may come into school wearing traditional party clothes, if they would like. Please, no lycra or football kit.

NB this is the last day for school clubs, Night Owls, late supervision and late coaches for Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep children.

Thursday 14th December• The Big Bash This unique Yateley Manor tradition always leaves everyone exhilarated and exhausted, so there are no after school

clubs or supervision for Prep, Pre-Prep or Nursery children. • Pre-Prep children should be collected at the normal time and Nursery children should be collected by 4.00pm. Staggered

leaving times will operate for Prep children: Years 3 & 4 - 3.50pm, Years 5 & 6 - 4.05pm, Years 7 & 8 - 4.20pm. All children must be collected by 4.40pm at the latest.

• There will be no early shuttle bus on this day and no late coaches. Coaches will leave at 4.30pm and therefore arrive at all stops about an hour and ten minutes earlier than usual. Coaches will follow the usual late coach routes.

Friday 15th December • Peter Pan at The Anvil, Basingstoke for children from Reception, Years 1 and 2. They will be taking a school provided packed

lunch with them which they will eat at the theatre. • Yateley Manor Carol Service: We will be welcoming families to the service, which will last around 50 minutes. Tickets will be

sent out towards the end of next week and we are looking forward to a wonderful celebration of nine lessons and carols. All Prep pupils will be attending and must wear their blazers. Parents who wish to take younger siblings of performers to the service may collect them from classrooms from 2.45pm onwards. The children, however, will need to return to their classrooms after the service to collect their belongings. We are not expecting many Pre-Prep children to attend this service as lessons and supervision in Pre-Prep will continue until 4.40pm, well after the Carol Service has finished.

Children whose parents have attended the Carol Service are free to go home afterwards. Children will return to classrooms to collect belongings and parents should meet them outside Manor Court as usual. Children in Prep whose parents have not been to the Carol Service will be dismissed at their normal times. Pre-Prep children must also be collected at their normal times. The School car park will be very busy between 3.50pm and 4.30pm so please avoid this time if you are a Pre-Prep only collector. The Nursery will close at 4.00pm.

• There will be no early shuttle bus on this day and no late coaches. Coaches will leave at 4.30pm and therefore arrive at all stops about an hour and ten minutes earlier than usual. Coaches will follow the usual late coach routes.
