THE HOUGHTON RANGE OF FORGING LUBRICANTSOur complete range of graphited oil, emulsion and water-based dispersions, along with our graphite free synthetic solutions and glass dispersions are ideal for a wide variety of forging operations.

THERMEx® GO/FENELLA®

OIL F G Oil based

dispersions

Graphite in oil products are available in a range of viscosities and additive content for numerous applications, ranging from heavy duty deep extrusions in steel, to light stampings in steel, non-ferrous and super-alloy materials.

THERMEx® WG/FENELLA®

FLUID F G Water based

dispersions

Dispersions of graphite in water are ideal for impact type applications in closed dies. Typical applications include press, hammer and drop forging of automotive parts, aerospace and medical applications. The range is also completely free from ammonia and can be used neat or diluted with water.

THERMEx® WW/FENELLA®

FLUID F Water based

synthetic solutions

These water-based products are free from graphite for cleaner working conditions and cleaner components. Typical applications include closed die ferrous and non-ferrous extrusions, forgings, stampings on hammers, presses and drop forging applications.

THERMEx® GL Water based

glass dispersions

Lead-free glass dispersions in water that provide lubrication, insulation and prevent scale build-up during hot forging of sensitive materials. This includes titanium, nickel alloys and heat resistant steels. Used in aerospace, energy and medical sectors. Applications include protection of turbine blades, rings and discs prior to hot forging.

The high pressures and temperatures generated in the forging process demand lubricants that have what it takes to increase the life of machinery, dies and parts by protecting them from corrosion and improving surface quality. Whether closed die, upsetting, open die, hammer, mechanical or press, ring rolling and either warm or hot forging, Houghton fluids deliver every time.

With decades of experience in the field Houghton is experienced in developing Forging Lubricant formulations to meet changing industry needs. Our teams strive to address common concerns such as metal flow, residue build-up and die life, as well as helping to provide a cleaner and safer working environment. Houghton will work with you to find the right lubricant that produces the specific properties you require in your parts while simultaneously reduce waste, rejects, downtime, and overall production costs.
