WHAT TO DO ABOUT FOOD?

HEALTHY EATING. http://animoto.com/play/OCrql3MOuN0hv0Vw6nDk1g (Web 2.0 tool: Animoto)

My plan to maintain healthy eating would be to plan out what I want to eat in one day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Upon speaking to my dietician, a good plan for someone of my height and weight would be to have 2 snacks (containing two food groups) and three meals a day (3-4 food groups). The layout of that being:

1-Breakfast 2- Snack #1 3-Lunch 4- Snack #2 5-Dinner

With the factor of fast food in life, I think a good plan would be to bring food with me at all times, as to not be tempted to eat said unhealthy foods (although, we all cheat sometimes).

DRUGS AND ALCOHOL ARE NOT

MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE. When it comes down to it, drugs and alcohol are not something to mess around with. While others may make their own decisions, my plan is to say no. Since no one can (legally) force me into doing either of these, this should keep me safe. However, it is always a wise choice to watch my drink and stay near someone I can trust and vice versa. Another option if I am being pressured is to walk away. If someone is making me uncomfortable and trying to get me to do something wrong, the right is respected to remove myself from the situation.

UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS- MY

PLAN

WHAT TO DO WHEN IN AN UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIP If I ever remark any of the previously listed signs, my plan would be to first try to talk the person. Assuming no physical abuse has taken place, I feel if the communication that something has happened and how to fix it can take place. If it gets fixed and both members of the relationship are happy, then the relationship can continue. If it doesn’t get fixed, then it’s a good idea to stop the relationship. While it may hurt, that would be the smartest course of action when being disrespecting in a relationship. Should the other person take it badly and threaten me, I would involve a trusted adult.

BULLYING- SPEAKING OUT

Page 11: Your health matters

BULLYING- MY PLAN. Generally, there would be one paragraph here about what to do if you are being bullied, but not about if you felt you were bullying someone. For the former, my plan would be to tell a friend or adult and try to figure out a strategy to keep myself out of those situations.

However, if the reverse took place (with me as the bully), my plan would be to try and receive outer help (counselling). In addition, it would be good to have a ‘buddy’ to say if they saw me bullying someone, so that I could work to stop those patterns. Lastly, I would try to speak to the person I had bullied and make amends, as it were. Though you cannot change what has passed, it is always good to apologize.

AVOIDING STIS

Page 13: Your health matters

EVERYONE’S FAVOURITE: STIS. My plan when it comes to intercourse is to avoid it until marriage. However, should that fail, the next best protection would be a condom. When looking for a condom it is important to remember that latex is the most efficient material (most unbreakable). Also make sure the lube is water based (won’t break down the latex). But, the true best way to protect oneself would be to not engage in sexual activities.
