Lone Star Friesian Horse Club Lone Star members have been enjoying the cool down finally here in Texas and with show season wrapping up many are ready for the Holidays. We were recently involved in a heartfelt project with a great group of ladies who are part of FHANA who reached out to us for project for a loss of friend's horses, we were ask if we could be part of it we came up with a wonderful "Angel Pillow". The pillow came to life after finding several businesses and friends who would donate their services, without this great group of FHANA ladies including us in this event it would never of happen, The pillow is made from a dressage pad donated by Dover here in Dallas, Texas the Embroidery was done by Embroidery Unlimited of Texas, the process and donations were done by Beverly McGowan through Charity Organizations. The Pillow was given to

Amberly Pitts Foster for her Friesian mare and foal, Maxie and Nugget ( Barn names ) who both passed away suddenly this year. This project showed that with people joining together in a united front a warm and huggable pillow was developed for people who have lost their horse and needed something to remember them by. Also some of Lone Star members attended a wonderful Halloween parade called the

"Scarecrow Parade" which Capt. Jack made a appearance in our group to make some children's dream come true and children were able to met him up close and personal some came from the Genesis Women Shelter here in Texas where our Chapter supported their effects in making Halloween a fun time with member Tom Pollard dressed as the character for the kids rising Klaas B. We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and enjoys the holidays with family and friends. New Club website is being developed and it will be interactive, we will announce the release in a few weeks.. Alberta Friesian Horse Association The Alberta Friesian Horse Association held their annual keuring on October 3. The day started late due to bad weather. The judges and some participants were not able to make it until 11AM. Scheduled first were 3 IBOP tests; all driving. Beautiful horses and nice tests, unfortunately none of them were able to obtain the necessary scores. Even though we had a late start we had an excellent turnout of curious visitors and amazing demos including a little "sneak peek" of the driven Made-in-Alberta Quadrille that is practicing hard for their performance at next years 35th anniversary show. Rebecca Cade rode a wonderful dressage freestyle on Janneke Poot's horse Quillin Sport Elite. Also our known ridden Musical Ride trotted around the ring and 6 members proudly displayed the flags of Friesland, Canada, United States, The Netherlands, KFPS and AFHA. Filly champion with 1st premie was filly Hilde M (Alwin x Onne) bred/owned by Kees and Annie Muilwijk with 2nd premie filly Iris M (Jouwe x Wimer) winning reserve champion also by Kees and Annie Muilwijk. Champion of the colts was Herko (Hessel x Doaitsen) owned by Antoon and Fennanda Bergman. Champion of the day went to Oda W (Norbert x Ulbe) and reserve to Mirte fan e Wigeri (Jisse x Rypke) owned by Wim and Nita Floryn
