Your new waste and recycling collection times

Keeping the city centre tidy

When your new waste and recycling service starts you should put your bins out to be emptied by 7am on their collection day.

Once they have been emptied you should return them to your property as soon as possible - and before 7pm at the latest.

If you use purple sacks these should be put out for collection no earlier than 4.30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Leaving sacks on the street overnight or for hours before collection is a health hazard and unsightly for residents and visitors.

To help improve the appearance of the city centre, the Community Safety Team will issue reminders to residents who leave their bins out on the streets once they have been emptied.

To further reduce street clutter, we will no longer be collecting paper and cardboard or plastics and cans from recycling boxes.

If you no longer need your blue or brown box please leave it empty in front of your property between the 31st October and 12th November and we will remove it.

A small number of properties will continue to use their blue box to recycle glass bottles and jars - check your letter or contact us to see if this applies to your property.

This new service will allow you to easily recycle a range of items.

City centre properties with existing waste and recycling wheeled bins will have these replaced with a new style of bin.

If you use recycling points you will be provided with a handy re-usable bag to help you recycle more.

• Properties in the city centre will receive similar waste and recycling services to other properties across Stirling.

• The new service will help to increase the quantity and quality of recycling collected from properties in the city centre.

• Providing more city centre properties with a wheeled bin recycling service will help to improve the appearance of the city centre - this will enhance the experience of residents, visitors and tourists.
