Touted as a centre of the community and a keystone of the towns future development, the Cockburn Aquatic Recreation Centre (ARC) in Perth, Western Australia opened to the public on May 21st 2017. The $109 million multi-purpose centre houses a swimming pool, netball and basketball courts, cafes and the new training facilities for AFL team the Fremantle Dockers.
Assigned to bringing this testing interior to life, contractors Exclusive Commercial Linings had their fair share of technical considerations. One of which was how to frame up the suspended Hera Design acoustic paneling from the ceiling of the 25m swimming pool. Due to the corrosive nature of swimming pool environments it was important that Exclusive
Commercial Linings used a steel supplier that could back the longevity of the ceiling system. Exclusive Commercial Linings reached out to their dedicated plasterboard and steel framing supplier; Perth Plasterboard Centre for a steel solution that would not only last but provide the technical backing to ensure a precise and flawless installation.
Perth Plasterboard Centre approached multiple steel building system manufactures, and after ruling out their usual channels, were pleased to find that not only were Studco willing to warrant their system, they were able to supply product in a fast and efficient manner.

TECH TIP
Door and Wall thickness EZY Jamb Classic Adjust comes standard for 38mm doors, although custom thicknesses are available upon request.
Wall thickness is measured as (framing width + plasterboard thickness) and is available in standard reveals from 82-216mm, although custom thicknesses are available upon request.
Door and Wall Thickness EZY Jamb SRC comes standard for 38mm doors, although custom thicknesses are available upon request.
Wall thickness is measured as (framing width + plasterboard thickness) and instead of having a standard size, the SRC is custom made to fit individual walls.
A lot of you are familiar with our tried and true EZY Jamb system and have ordered these plenty of times. With the introduction of EZY Jamb SRC, we thought it would be a great time to refresh your minds and take the opportunity to point out the differences between setting up the frame openings for both products.
Floor to Ceiling DoorsFloor to ceiling doors require no header jamb as the door extends to the total height of the wall. When framing for this type of application, allow the ceiling framing and plasterboard to carry on through to the adjacent space.

Advice on Measuring up for SRC and EZC
The Original EZY Jamb Classic Adjust (EZC)When ordering EZY Jamb Classic Adjust (EZC) please specify the door width and add on 15mm to allow for an adequate frame opening. If using RY45 Concealed Hinges please make this 40mm, allowing 10mm on latch side and 30mm for the hinge.
To identify the height and bottom clearance of your door, measure: (door height + 8mm clearance + specified floor covering thickness). Depending on whether you are installing carpet, tiles, hardwood flooring or going for an industrial polished concrete, this can affect your jamb height, so please take floor thickness into consideration to allow suitable clearance.
Studco strongly recommends a double timber stud or a 0.75 BMT metal stud on both sides of the opening.

Door HandingDoor handing is available in both left and right handing. Handing is based on the side that the hinges are located when opening the door towards you. For example, if the door is swinging to the right, the handing will be on the right. Please refer to measuring and order instructions for further details.
Door handing is based on when you pull the door towards you.

Takco, one of the largest building companies in Vietnam, have utilized Resilmount’s M50R and M24R sound isolation mounts in their recent construction of Hong Bang International University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The isolation mounts are designed to prevent noise and vibrations in sensitive areas and have been used in lecture theaters and music halls for the project. Achieving an STC (Sound Transmission Coefficient) of 63 and IIC (Impact Isolation Class) of 61.
The M50R Suspended Ceiling Mount performs well above Australian standards to stop sound transfer from the space above, so students can enjoy the benefits of an A class acoustic system. Chosen over the specified German sound isolation mounts for the project, the patented natural polymer design of Studco Resilmounts hold their own in international quality standards and set the level for high performing isolation mounts in Australia.
The Studco Australia logistics team worked closely with Takco to carefully ensure a timely delivery of the product and compliance with the intricacies of Vietnam Customs requirements. Our customer focused logistics team is committed to going over and above to meet the needs of our customers, whether it be managing overseas deliveries and customs or special site requirements here.
Studco pride themselves as being a solutions partner to our customers and look to provide them with the best outcome on their projects.

The economy continues to track ahead steadily and construction is proving to be an important contributor to Australia’s GDP, as infrastructure initiatives and building constructions progress throughout the major cities.Residential & Aged Care construction looks positive in the short term, however the year on year decline indicates this sector has slowed in growth.
Retail and Hospitality construction is on the rise and construction in the Education sector has also improved with new projects in a range of school and tertiary institutions in Victoria.
In the building construction sector, although the demand for inner city apartment living is slowing, student accommodation is rapidly increasing in Melbourne, with 16 dedicated student developments currently in progress, as key institutional players acquire new sites.
